The Mirgae opened its doors on November 22, 1989. It was the world's most expensive resort at that time and cost a whopping $630 million. It was also among the world's largest hotels. The Mirage was the first mega resort or hotel to open on the Las Vegas Strip in 16 years. Its success fueled a building boom in the 1990s for other large mega resorts on the Las Vegas Strip.
The Mirage will close on July 17, 2024 and is expected to reopen with a new look and new name.... Hard Rock Resort on 2027.
