The "logic" pushback against woo ideas or experiences often seems to come out of a conflation of the term "logic" with materialist philosophy or linear thinking. Woo has a logic as well and if you don't experience it yourself, I suppose it's hard to understand....
INFJs are called 'The Mystic' for a reason. I read some of the naysayer comments below, which prompted me to respond. Someone said that INFJs would be too logical to be WooWoo, but when you investigate our cognitive functions, Introverted Thinking (Ti) is only our 3rd function and in the immature 'child' position of the function stack. Our dominant function is Ni (Introverted Intuition). Online tests will mistype a lot of people, who are actually INTJ or ISFJ. Granted, many INFJs might not utilise their Introverted Intuition function in a WooWoo way and perhaps even lean too much on their 3rd function as a crutch. However, I have met about six INFJs in real life (plus myself) and every single one is highly spiritual/psychic/esoteric AND able to be rational. INFJs are known to be a walking paradox. Pretty sure you can be an INJF without WooWoo magic, but many of us are WooWooholics and personal growth junkies and, as dominant intuitives, we certainly don't lack imagination or 6th sense ability. Carl Jung, who has created the foundations for this typology was an INFJ himself and deeply immersed in the esoteric and mystical part of life, while still managing to create a lasting impact in psychology by using logic to verify his findings.
@realamericanvariety That too, there seems to be a few different names for each type. The counsellor, the advocate, the prophet and the mystic are all names I have heard for INFJ
Wow my entire life I have hidden that side of me. Growing up everyone made fun of me. They called me a granola crunching person and never connected with any of them. Then I felt I would alienate my husband and kids. I’m turning 60 and going to Sedona AZ for my birthday and going on a sacred sites tour. Exposing myself a little at a time. There’s always hope and never too late. 🧝🏼♀️
Long ago, a therapist tried to convince me that psychics aren't real. I responded "Have you ever talked to one?" and she replied no. "Then how do you know?" She didn't have an answer.
Most people who claim to be a psychic are not. Given that prophetic claims have come true countless times in history, we already know the ability exists. Our own dreams tell us that many of us have “senses” of things to come.
Did you ever hear about James Randi's One Million Dollar Paranormal Challenge? Lots of people applied for it, but none of them was ever able to prove any "woo" stuff.
I have a test I use to see whether a psychic is genuine or not. When I walk into the room with them I keep an image at the front of my mind. If they pick it up and mention it then they are genuine. I have found that around 90% have mentioned it to me within the first 10 minutes.
Lol I like the response you gave her. People have a tendency to accept things as fact only because it is widely accepted by mainstream society. History repeats itself again and again and people just never learn
Thanks, Lauren. I agree people are questioning the traditional religions more and more. I definitely find my spirituality outside of those ways. I feel more connected to the unseen.
My Nan was into it which impacted my infp Dad which he then prohibited me from engaging in it but my infj mum got involved in it but then my INTJ sister found reglion and convinced her it's evil and I was interested in it but i sat with people who showed me the Pseudoscience part of tarot cards. I still do believe in astrology as the patterns with people I have noticed and combined their big 3 together can lay it all out to them. I help one INFJ find their rising sign just by asking certain questions, and it match up to where emotions and working for home laid the ground work. I'm not into astrology as I used to be because now everyone seems to be one. So I'm focused on other things now.
Since childhood, I've been attuned to energy as an INFJ Heyoka. Recently, I've been undergoing a profound spiritual awakening following a miraculous event-an actual divine intervention that took place 18 months ago. I've been feeling stuck in a state of emptiness for quite some time now.
Hang in there, and I hope you're able to take the time to explore the dark corners of that emptiness, because that's where the magic/medicine is hidden. I've been going through something similar for a bit over 2 years after a chain of devastating events and an entire lifetime of total suppression of my "woo" side in favor of the mechanics of survival. I only recently (re)discovered astrology and that this is Saturn charging in through my Ascendant, his chariot drawn by a pair of Centaurs, swinging a wrecking ball, an old friend returning home for a visit. The thunder of hooves opened a rift at my feet, and my rational persona fell through to a twilit island of Limbo somewhere along the trade route between worlds where I have been since, wandering with the pale disembodied spirits here among stones unmarked with a name - they are the disenfranchised parts of my Self that were not allowed to be, exiled here for their protection. Here, I am learning the Art of the necromancer, drawing on the light of patron Ladies of the stars, calling for Selene to venture out from hiding and lend Her radiant smile to the task, casting the shadows of those pale spirits to take on a living aspect once more and tell their tales, to be tattooed onto the page and my spirit body in ink distilled from grief and starlight, so the words may come out real, that their essence may be absorbed and brought to life again. They have a lot to say about the state of things in THIS world, and are slowly training this former soldier-of-misfortune in the art of the quill, a chance to help restore what was lost. Yes, there is madness in my method, and the medicine has a bitter and metallic (and sometimes salty) "nose", but I've heard rumor that it's an acquired taste that becomes refreshing and full-bodied if you just hold your nose and swallow. 🥂 Carpè Noctum
Great video. 💯 accurate through my experience. I’ve always been drawn to the woo, which has absolutely helped me discover who I am as a person and work through my traumas. Wouldn’t change it for the world.
I love the "woo". However, I can easily go overboard and start to rely too much on the "woo". I love the metaphysical aspect of things but I also like to balance things out and look at them from a more rational perspective. I feel this has saved me from going down a rabbit hole that could lead to delusion and/or psychosis.
Many years ago I went for a combined reiki treatment and tarot reading. The reiki (energy work without touch) was astonishing: the practitioner had one hand over me and the other _under the table I was lying on_ and I felt a beam of energy running through me between her hands. The tarot reading must have been good also, since I don't remember any disappointment. But the most woo-woo thing was that when I got there I saw the address was _my old apartment,_ an unusual little place that had been added on to the side of a house and was associated with some relationship trauma for me (and a nightmare about it), so having the reiki and reading there made it especially meaningful healing work. Now I see it fitting into a series of place synchronicities that all have healing themes. I hope to write them up. I am INFP. Some time later I called to make another appointment and she told me she'd gone back to Catholicism and wasn't allowed to do these practices anymore.
Yes! As an INFP, astrology & MBTI have helped me make more of myself & my life so much! I grew up in a Catholic household & as a Christian religion, astrology is generally rejected & anytime I’ve tried to step away from it, I’m pulled back. Now I know why! Many thanks for this video! And again..I’m so grateful to have found your channel 🫶🏾🥰
Not into the woo at all (not to be confused with the Wu). But, while I understand what I typed in the first sentence, I still wear crystals/beads that have meaning/attributes. It's almost like how a toddler completely understands that Batman isn't real but still feel like a super hero when they wear the costume. 🤷🏾
When woo leads us down unhealthy paths, such as unwittingly joining a cult, it's usually because we have unresolved trauma. So, we mistakenly blame the woo when in fact it's unconscious trauma, which causes us to become involved with unhealthy people who are manipulating the woo. Discernment is what is needed here.
I love this. Thank you for crearing. I am an ENFJ. I am openly woo woo at age 34 now. I used to try my best to fit in to be normal. Now I em embrace my weirdness and my spiritual gifts, and I am choosing to be as authentic as possible. Sending love ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am most definitely woo. And so are most of my friends. Over the years, we have all gravitated towards one another like soap bubbles on the surface of water, gathering numbers as we float through life in happy fantasy. Several times a year, we all get together and celebrate ourselves. Being woo is awesome when you have a chance to *be!*
Growing up in a very strict religious home and culture, anything 'woo' was discouraged. I'm still in the closet on many levels but do embrace this wonderful and exiting life with much passion. Always willing to learn how to grow my inborn skills and hidden knowledge.
I've always had a passion for fashion design but was never encouraged to pursue it further. It helped me heal and was a growing process. I utilized my passion to move ahead on my own and went above and beyond.
I would say I'm not INFJ enough to believe in Woo. As I'm partly INTJ. One time I seriously started to believe in extraterrestrials but next day I was just embarrassed by believing in such nonsense.
I've just read your regular email. Maybe someone can be a bit too "woo" for other people. Not everyone accepts or understands these kinds of topics. Personally speaking i have many beleifs that would be considered "way out there!". That's just how I am. I would not let anyone tell me that's unacceptable. As you say in the video here, INFJ's tend to have a spiritual side, so naturally some "wooness' will manifest. So i don't agree with the comment that being "logical and factual" means you can't also have beliefs that defy logic and have no factual basis yet seem to be real. I'm an engineer, so logic and facts would be expected to drive my every day life. However it's not that way at all. As an engineer , yes that applies to some extent, but in every other part of my life it doesn't. In fact as an engineer I tend to get most of my answers to technical problems through intuition rather than logic.
I agree that there is a spiritual realm but what concerns me about my INFJ intuitive capacity is the fact that I can delve into this realm through an alternative “way” that is not the Way. And the nature of reality presents both good and evil so it seems only plausible to acknowledge that the spiritual realm is not all good. There is evil in the spiritual realm and I believe your videos try to help INF types to freely explore this other realm but without any caution regarding real dangers of tampering with this other realm. I get that people are truly tapping into different energies such as psychics, but ex-psychics are sharing their testimonies, and clearly state that such tampering is connected to a harmful source. Just because I’m an INFJ doesn’t mean I should just delve into whichever spiritual energy I might intuitively pick up. I suppose what I’m getting at is the fact that my intuition is not a sufficient guide to navigate the spiritual beyond. The Master of spiritual beyond once describe it in parable form: “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door but climbs in by another way, that man is a thief and a robber. But he who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the gatekeeper opens. The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. A stranger they will not follow, but they will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers” (John 10:1-5). It seems evident according to this parable that the spiritual beyond can be entered wrongfully. Also, how should harmful spiritual entities be discerned if we just follow whatever spiritual whim our intuition happens to pick up? Again, my concern has to do with the problematic issues revolving around the woo side of things. Is there not danger and real evils that ought to be avoided within the woo woo? Reality clearly shows us both good and evil. Do you believe the spiritual beyond is without evil? And if so then where is all the evil in so many coming from? I believe its connected to the dark powers of the spiritual realm. Astrology is littered with energies (spiritual intelligences) that aim to gain sway over those who tap into it. And many ex-astrologers have expressed the dangers of such supposed harmless energies. It seems that something beyond our intuitive antenna is needed. Something higher than our small subjective experience that can’t actually grasp what it’s tapping into. Is there a higher good we can attach our life to and govern our actions around? But if your affirming that intuition is the highest good INF types should organize their lives around, then I’m afraid that that is a very low standard. Every INF type simply becomes their own little god following their own muse and rhythm. I know as an INFJ I have a very strong moral standard but it’s not based upon my limited convictions. I must look to something higher than myself to find the greatest moral good. For morality is a standard that is bigger than me. Where does it come from? Science tells us it came from non-meaning. We are nothing more than an evolutionary process with no inherent meaning or purpose. INF types will most likely find this reasoning to be unsatisfactory. There must be a reason and our life definitely has meaning, but where do such undeniably human characteristics stem from? There must be a Divine Good that authored this instinctual moral code. And I know of no other superior to the morals of Jesus Christ. Now there is a Being who out right claimed to be the Master of the spiritual beyond. I for one believe Him and He has a great deal to say about harmful spiritual entities that are dangerous to tamper with. You might not ascribe to the Greatest Man of all human history, and if not then what do you align with? Your own intuition? Your own “light?” And what makes you so sure about you? Are you greater than Him who claimed to be the Light? If you don’t claim such things, then why do you feel at liberty to guide others into the spiritual beyond with no grid for evil pitfalls and dangers?

I didn’t have to hide my woo at home. This did set me up to believe that the world would be a more welcoming place than it really is.

You gotta read Magnetic Aura from Borlest. Don't look it up or read anything about it. Just pick it up and read :D happy reading!
I looked it up and people are saying that it's a scam
