  • I just picked up a new Fox Factory 38 to setup my Devinci Chainsaw as a trail bike. I'm very familiar with the 38 and figured I would give a setup walk through.
    Proper suspension setup is paramount for traction and support.
    If you have any setup tips comment below.

      The not knipex pliers? Every pro race team uses them for quick jobs like this I've seen it

    I dont know if it's the camera but you said to turn it all the way clockwise, but you're turning it counterclockwise and than clockwise, the other way around, and im confused now

      The setting are always based on looking at the dial and turning it fully clockwise and then opening the port by turning it counterclockwise

    Did you use the 4 volume spacers cause the fox 38 also did rush through the mid stroke of its travel in steep sections? Cause that's what I'm witnessing

      N0, at 15% sag and around the recommended compression settings i had good mid support especially on steeps but large rolls and drops as well as high speed smashing I’m only looking to bottom out if I make a mistake.

    Whats all the oil coming out the shock valve?

    • @NICADV
      @NICADV  Місяць тому

      Fox calls for 3cc of oil in the air chamber to lubricate the piston, it's generally their 20w gold.

      This is UA-cam, Nic owes you nothing and quite frankly, your sense of entitlement is embarrassing.

      Ok what do you suggest for a 220lbs rider riding fast enduro trails not huge jumps though in terms of tokens and clickers.

    • @NICADV
      @NICADV  8 місяців тому

      @@YLDCRD I’d start by trying to get 15% sag. Based on Fox’s recommendations that should be around 115 psi but the best way is to measure for yourself. Rebound should be 3 for low speed and 2 for high from all the way closed/clockwise. 10 clicks from closed/clockwise on lsc and 5 for hsc. Because of the larger compressions in my area I generally run 8 lsc and 4hsc. As far as volume spacers some come installed from the factory and if you trails are fast but don’t have a bunch of hard compressions or big rocks that could be fine. Use your o ring to help judge travel used. If you’re using too much travel then add a spacer. It can make a big difference so only go one spacer at a time. Ride and repeat, try for small changes and see how they feel

      Hi bro i have 170 lbs like you and my area is a big rocks and technical trails enduro. Whats your recomendation tokens, SAG, compression and rebound? Ty

    • @NICADV
      @NICADV  7 місяців тому

      @@pauloalmeida-zx8ng I’m running 4 spacers with 100psi. Targeting 15% sag. All setting from fully closed, 4 HSC 8LSC 5 LSR 4 HSR I’m looking for the best support at high speeds and large compressions. Often I’ll open the compression a few clicks during the wetter seasons, so like 5 HSC & 10 LSC
