    In Fall 2022 I scalped off my existing 30 year old climax lawn. It seems to have a dozen types of grasses that all mowed differently, making the lawn look blotchy and different heights, even immediately after a mow. I sprayed Roundup after the scalp and waited 3 weeks. Reseeded with SS9000 rye mixture from Superseed Store, selected for my Zip Code and elevation (500'). I planted September 15th. My first cut was January 15th. I will reduce it slowly to 2". I need to smooth my ground thru summer & fall before I take it lower. Any thoughts or advice are welcome.

    • @PacificNorthwestLawns
      @PacificNorthwestLawns  2 роки тому

      I probably wouldn't try a leveling project in the summer with a cool season grass. That's when it typically tries to go dormant. You want it to be growing vigorously. Plus if we get the temps we did last summer, it's really going to struggle. Remember you don't have to level it in one season. In fact, you're not going to. It takes several times to get it where ya want it.

    I live in central Virginia. It's hard for me to have quality grass. All my neighbors have wild field grass. It's gonna get into my yard from wind. Yeah, and a bunch of clover too. We don't see it as a weed here, and professional landscapers say that I shouldn't kill it. I've been reseeding my yard for the past 5 years. 🐀🐾
