Saw Bill at a house concert in Bellingham, Wa. last month with Rudy and Tony Scherr. Ninety minutes of bliss. I've been fortunate enough to see Bill dozens of times and every single time there's magic.
Almost 12 minutes of abstract, theoretical improvisional music of the highest order. The level of interplay of this current trio is rare and precious even for the Frisell overue. Hopefully Frisell can stay on this side of his ever changing pendulum swing for at least one album before advancing to other new directions.
Bill Frisell is a living musical treasure, and the two artists he's working with here are beyond brilliant. Those of us who love jazz music have a duty to communicate our appreciation and admiration for these creative artists working in the medium of sound waves. Bravo! Bravo! Bravissimo!
Killing, great audio and video as well. I still remember how Thomas Morgan said he wasn't practicing anymore in that movie Music for Black Pigeons. Haha, perfect intonation!
