      It's just the fact that Andy is super super tight. Yeah hes capable of bluffing it but theres honestly very little bluffing here. Hes only repping slow played Aces, 7's 9's, and dueces. Dueces is a little unlikely so hes repping so small of value which means his bluffs are wayyyy fewer. Not saying it's the right fold or not but Gary definitely leveled himself into the fold

    From trapping to getting scared on the river, the money got to him, plus one important factor gary mentioned as he was thinking out loud -- this could turn a very good day to a very bad day, clearly he was running pretty good on that session, he wants to protect his profit!! I believed that's what confused his decision,

  • @AleksiVattaja
    @AleksiVattaja 5 років тому +1

    Its a problem when hes thinking ”its so many big blinds, its so much money” etc. When they should be thinking logically about the hand and the action, bet to pot ratio etc, not worry about how much money it is objectively. Its true 7s and 9s make a bunch of sense here, but so do a lot of suited connector type hands, almost all of which hit the flop in small ways (mostly gutters with backdoor flush draws etc. that are very inticing hands to bluff with). With the clean runout and the call on the turn, it looks like a fairly straightforward call. However im not an expert and not even a good player really, so idk, Andys tight image probably played a big role in the decision.

    If your plan is to check call flop and turn then it has to be a call on the river especially if the river is a TOTAL brick. If he lead flop and barreled turn and value bets river and Andy shoves all in then I would fold.

    • @jackle8525
      @jackle8525 5 років тому

      Actually the river is not total brick at all. In opposite, that card the best card he can get except another K. He can easy eliminate 2 pairs from flop. That would be snap call on the river. Andy shove all in on that river is really really bad move actually

    I'm only at the 7:29 mark so I don't know how it ends yet, but I just want to point out that the commentator is wrong about Andy's value range having to be 77, 99, or 22. It could be 44. It could absolutely be AA trying to get KK, QQ, and A9 to call. There just aren't enough combinations that make sense, and Gary was trapping post flop, so I think he has to call here and it will be interesting to see if he does. I think he folds, though.

    • @keithmason1485
      @keithmason1485 6 років тому +13

      It's such a brick that a really good player knows it's an awful card to fire a 3rd barrel on. And since both of these guys are excellent players they know this and that plays into the decision. It's such a bad card to bluff on that it's a bluff so little it makes a call difficult. Although I think it's a call considering his hand is so underrepped Andy could actually be value betting with worse here like QQ or JJ.

    so if there's 7 combos of value, how many combos of bluffs does there need to be to make it a call for gary?

    • @0000walidos
      @0000walidos 5 років тому +1

      since it's almost a pot size bet river, he would have 2 to 1 on a call... therefore he need to find 3,5 bluffs to break even on a call. clearly with all the T8s 56s JTs J8s 58s... even if you only consider the diamon suits it's a call. In his shoes as played I would fold 88 TT and JJ (especially with a diamond) but call QQ KK AA and of course better (and event 79s if I had 3bet light since I would block 4 of his value hands that take this line).

    Guy with KK must be an amateur why he didn’t raise on the Turn when Andy bet $10k is mind-boggling to me.

    Dont forget about them bullets. Andy played it like bullets. With Gary making big raise preflop folding out everyone else Andy can just call pretending to play aces tricky..

  • @Juvijuju
    @Juvijuju 3 роки тому

    By slow playing Gary should have accounted for more bluffs from Andy b/c in a 3-bet pot facing weakness from the pf utg 3-bet raiser on a dry rainbow board Andy would def be out to steal. Tough call, but one u should make against such a capable opponent esp. taking this line

  • @mstrut9510

    Ii think even Gary thought he was going to call but went against his instinct at the end. You better believe Andy has watched the show clips and knows he will fold KK.

    $34k shove on the river, and over half the comment section saying they would snap call. Guarantee most of them would tank call on a $340 river bet, and has never faced a $3.4k bet on the river. Nevermind $34k.

    He even has one of the nut KK combos to snap this off with not having a diamond 🤦🏻‍♂️. Turn is a pretty easy give up for Andy too. Yikes from everyone.

      yeah i was thinking give up on turn .. but you know how it is when you play live and get in a huge pot .. the money in the middle turns you into an animal and you get aggressive .. you mind says check but your heart says go for it

    • @tgo007
      @tgo007 6 років тому

      Can you explain this for me? What I think you're saying is that since he doesn't have the King of diamonds, that makes it slightly more likely for Andy to have a hand like AK with diamonds and that would be in his bluff range? Am I understanding this correctly? If Gary did have a diamond, that removes 1 combo of AK diamonds.

    • @erikkoch1923
      @erikkoch1923 6 років тому

      tgo007 yeah, basically. Or any of his Kx diamond diamond hands that he flats pre (since he might 4b AKs). Basically black kings makes a really nice call because it doesn’t block any bluffs like say red JJ would. Black KK and AA are a couple of the best calls, aside from T9s or A9s if Gary could have them.

    • @MJ-iq9hv
      @MJ-iq9hv 6 років тому

      basically tightest fold ever .. really .. that's the definition of hero fold especially in a 3bet heads up pot

    • @MJ-iq9hv
      @MJ-iq9hv 6 років тому

      just the fact that he doesnt have a diamond in his hand makes it more likely he can be bluffing with a backdoor diamond draw ... so it makes a lil easier to call ... also how he played the hand he got exactly what he wanted but suddenly decided to make a hero fold at the end ... purely a gut instincts fold ... i feel like 9-10 times he's calling 8.5 out of 10 at least

  • @troyhbk
    @troyhbk 6 років тому +1

    Bottom line you CANNOT CHECK ALL 3 STREETS AND NOT CALL RIVER HERE, PERIOD. if he bet and got called, then bet and got raised on turn, entirely different decision if they get to river but this is a call. why lay the trap to fold? put him on 77,99 nothing else, Andy never has AA here

    I'm enjoying live at the Bike very much. These guys are obviously very good experienced players. And what I've learned is 90% of the time, none of them have a clue as to what their opponents may have. All the talk of " ranges" doesn't seem to be helping. Guys will bluff with anything and it's a simple guess. Either you're right, or wrong. Not much more to it. If there was, you wouldn't see guys on both ends of the spectrum so often.
