You may recall in the first prayer Bob makes, he lamented over Tim's deteriorating condition and feared that this may be his last Christmas. Despite all his positivity and care, deep down he still felt like Tim was not going to improve. That helped foreshadow the relief in the final monologue that Tiny Tim did not die. Excellent but one small point, the line 'Tiny Tim, who did not die' makes no sense because we the listener were not party to what Scrooge saw.
they were talking about his health though, so it would still make sense since having a child that sick during those times could be scary.
