Hi Craig, I’ve a CC Fish but used just once in crappy condition, felt ok. I will go to indo next week and I would like to take just one board as I will also travel a lot and just want to keep it comfy. Do you think this board can handle also some barrel-y conditions? Thank you!
I’m 5’8 and 12 stone mostly muscle 💪🏻. I’ve been after a board with more volume . A fish or hybrid but I really like the Christenson . Any recommendations as to what size? I’m kinda mid intermediate but been out of the water to long . I was thinking going for the 5’6?? Any suggestions?
Hey! Do you have a shortboard volume you’re confident with? If so, try just come a tad above that if you can. You want to keep the fish as short as possible, but make sure you have the float/paddle power you require ✌️
@@TheSurfboardGuide I usually ride a 9.1 longboard where I leave because there is not so much waves and a 6.2 short board about 38,5 liters during my surf trip when I m in shape in 3 to 6 feet waves…but don’t be able to take all the waves I want. Thanks…
@@TheSurfboardGuide there was never an answer. I have exactly the same details. Just bought the 5‘10 fish with 37ltr yesturday but surfed it not yet. I thought the 5‘8 would be the better choice??? My go to board is actually the CI Ultra Joe. Thanks
For me I always ride my fishes about 5 liters more to get the most glide factor than my typical HP shortboard ....... I think you would get the most if you apply my theory vs bogging out
Great review, bit of a random question...for an intermediate surfing just everyday pretty average conditions would U recommend the chilli hot knife or volume 2? Cheers!
Hey! Either one really, they’re both my favourite performance twins, and sit just above the fish here as in they surf more like a high performance shortboard, but they’re twin fins ✌️
Thats a tough one, I rode the Astro Zombie a few years back. Both very similar being fish/twin keels, but I don't think the Astro Zombie has the versatility of the CC Fish - The Astro Zombie was amazing, but much fuller and I don't think would surf as well in 4ft+ waves like the CC Fish...
@@TheSurfboardGuide I rode my firends 5’8 Lane splitter and for some reason it was hard to paddle. I’m 5’7 and 77 kilos. I usually ride smaller boards so I don’t know why it didn’t paddle well and didn’t have quick get up and go speed on smaller waves... Any ideas?
How much do you weigh? Edit. I saw it. 92 kilos (200 lbs). I'm about the same and ride a 5'10 in mushier waves than yours. It rips and flies over flat sections.
Hey! Volume is such a personal preference. Only a few years back I was riding around 28.5L in my shortboards, and I was a similar weight. This is creeping up, and I'm now around 31.5L in shortboards. But, whatever works for you!
Hi Greg, Do you think the CC fish 5'6 would be too much board for a 50 years old intermediate long boarder? I'm 5'8, 145 lbs + 4/3 wetsuit, in decent shape but have never surfed anything shorter that 7'6 before. Thank you!
Too much board? No! More so it will be too little board based on what you’re use to. There might be a board to help bridge the gap for you jumping between these two. You’re likely capable, and the numbers of weight to volume stack up, it’s just cutting 2ft of board off what you’re used to might be tough…
Good! But, I feel I prefer it and it feels more natural on my forehand. That could also be (and I’ve realised this more recently), I’m so used to surfing with a tail pad that boards without them can feel like I have less control over, especially on my backhand…
Epic, thanks for giving the people want they want!
Haha! Finally!
One thing many people love about christenson's boards is the foil.
Yes! he really knows what he's doing!
For obvious reasons. If you know his boards you know there's a " Christenson feel"
Do you prefer the CC fish over the CC lane splitter as a one board quiver?
Which one is easier to surf?
Hey! Probably the Lane Splitter - I'm a huge fan of that board!
Thanks mate. Great review.
Thanks! ✌️
Great review! The fish looks really nice! I would need 2-3 liters more to beef it up a little bit to glide over flat sections easier🤙🏼 Cheers mate!
You’d be suprised - I don’t think you’d need that much foam. You’d weigh less than me, and I think this would glide well due to its wide outline ✌️
Hi mate, any chance you plan to review the new Myconaut by Christenson?
Maybe soon - they look so fun!
A board I've always wanted to have.
Get on it!
Another gem. Thx. Just commenting to help the algorithm 😅
Haha! Thanks ✌️

Hello, I m intermediate surfeur, 6 feet tall and 78kg, what size or volume would you recommend ??? Thanks for your great review…👍
what sort of size/volume do you normally ride?

Volume 2 for steeper/better waves
Hot Knife for fuller/smaller waves
✌️

how would you compare christenson fish to panda's astro zombie?
I would like to know the answer to this as well! @The Surfboard Guide

@@TheSurfboardGuide so maybe Astro Zombie has a better lower end? Better groveler than the CC keel?
@@rmoisio Yes - spot on!
Great review, especially discussing sizing. BTW, it's pronounced like the start of "Canterbury", not "can't".
But I’m a bogan Aussie! 😂
What would you choose, this or the chilli sugar? Are they similar?
Very similar, but they Chilli Sugar is a little more high performance and tends to like a little more push and curve!
How would you compare this with astro zombie by panda surfboards?
Good comparison! Actually, both really similar with great flow and ease to surf!
Either would be a great addition to the quiver.
Christenson fish or Lane Splitter?
Depends on wave types, but if it’s primarily 3ft+, I’d go Lane Splitter. I really like that board!

What do you prefer Christenson fish or Chili sugar??
Hey! Not really sure, it’s been a while since I surfed them.
Maybe the Christenson if I had to pick one, but they are both great boards ✌️
What would you prefer cc fish or panda Rocket fish ?
Both, I don’t think I could pick as they’re very similar!

Great review! How did you like this compared to the ocean racer?
Prefer the fish over the Ocean Racer 👌
Wow you're riding it small for your weight. I'm the same weight as you but would go a 6ft since I'm 59yo.
Hey! I'm also 20 years younger, so hoping that might be on my side to ride the board a little smaller...

sorry dude, only one question.. what fish you would choose as a allround board chili sugar, cc fish or another one? thanks
Either of those would be awesome choices - both really versatile and super easy to surf!
How does the CC fish perform going backside?
Almost as well as frontside tbh.
Yes, similar to frontside. Just didn’t get any lefts to film on… 😩
🔥 💪 🙌
Yes!

Would be awesome if you could review the Chris Craft 10'6" aswell! Thanks
