I gotta say, I think you need to do an album reaction of their debut album. Which happens to unintentionally funniest sounding albums of all time due to its sheer insanity, playful rhythms and musicianship, hilarious vocal gymnastics, and kooky riffage!
I was just about to comment the same thing, these guys need to do a full album reaction to their debut Self Titled album and Toxicity. The energy of the Self Titled album is just insane, it kinda reminds me of Slipknot's Self Titled album in that same sense, it's just super raw and overflowing with energy!
12:11 knowing how the band views religion, the song to me seems like clear criticism on religious extremists. something that Daron (guitarist, second vocalist, main writer) said lines up rather well: “politically, i have no issue with people, but my beef sometimes is with religion at the end of the day, politicians, they use the simple-minded and the poor and they promise them things and they rule up their troops using religion. religion, it can be a beautiful thing for the individual, but when it becomes organized, that’s when religion starts taking an ugly turn to me.” it’s telling of how religion is weaponized, “you die for her philosophy” is literal, because that’s what history proves. the Garden of Eden reference in the bridge, feels like it’s showcasing the contradiction extremists portray in the name of religion, using the Crusaders as an example here, they pillaged and murdered throughout the Middle-East in the name of Christ, contradicting the core teachings and philosophies of Jesus. the outro of the song going from “the following of a Christ” to “the falling of Christ” feels to me like a show on how those that follow are the ones who break the teachings, again using the Crusaders as an example. they’ve made a point of standing up against organized religion and promoting individualism overall, so it makes sense that the song reflects quite well on that.
Fun fact I lost my shoe at a System of a Down concert. But then someone found it for me before the concert was over. 😅 one shoe in the middle of winter of Chicago wouldn't have been fun.
10:04 once again, U HAVE U *HAD* U guys listened to: Sugar, PLUCK, PRISON SONG, NEELDES, All of these songs Serj did those gutural growls, Gotta listen to these songs again buddy

10:05, you're wrong, u definitely had, more than 1 time but just forgot it, Now u gotta do "MIND" buddy, for decades ive been suggesting this one, do the studio version 1st, and the best lives are 1997 one (my fav one, they all look like they are on some crack, they look so high, except for John, he looks normal, but the rest of the band, including Serj looks high af), and MIND live BDO 2002 (same one as that suite pee one) are the best lives, I also love the demo from 1997, is so heavy
if you've never heard Serj make those growling sounds, you clearly haven't listed to enough of their first album lol. Maybe react to some more off that one.
Morning fellas! Wow! Im awake now! It was 3:30 i woke up not able to go back to sleep, and was a little sleepy but im up now! Lol! Love SOAD!! GREAT CHOICE!🤘
I'm pretty sure Daron never did growls for anything so you're just spreading misinformation. He did do growls but not inward ones, it's always been serj doing that and even across all years be it a bad year or a good one or a sick (ill) one he always did the inward growls even if he didn't scream.
@@leonidasneves7972Hell yeah he can, he's a bit older now so of course it's not going to be as powerful but if you look at 2013, 2015 or 2018 this is post reunion soad and he's great in these shows. Bunch of screaming
FINALLY a song from their self titled album, btw THAT and the live from Lowlands 2001 or any live from the 90s are the best ones, also, I prefer the demo (both 1995 and 1997 demos) i prefer these 2 demos over the studio version, but the studio version is also great, Listen to mind, is amazing, also the best lives are the 1997 one and the BDO 2002, I also love the demo as wwll
Some of the best lyrics are cryptic. Gets you to really think about the song. Sometimes if you speak cryptic liike you can say something offensive with out saying it out right.
I love the general knowledge questions at the beginning of your videos to get the title of the song from the day... one of very few channels where you actually learn a couple of things. You two rock!!!! 💪💪💪💪
I love your Soad reactions, I think I've seen them each more than 10 times. You guys need to checkout Serj and Darons solo stuff. Serj has an amazing album called "Elect the dead". I recommend "Empty walls" or "Sky is over", the Orchestral versions. And also you guys still don not know Darons key role in Soad😅 He is the mastermind behind most of the songs. He has a band himslef, Scars on Broadway. "Guns are loaded" and "Lives" are two of my favourites. Chek them out. Thanks!

This song criticizes organized religion and people's willingness to accept almost anything as fact. The lyrics detail a fad religion that everyone buys into despite its fishiness:
Live at Big Day Out 2002 down here in Australia. Man they were so good, I was at the Sydney show and the pit was absolutely mental, so fuxking heavy. Their guitar tech was also hilariously playing Slayer Riffs during sound check/set up over the top of the shitty band that was on the stage next to them 😂

I think the name of this song is random. I think the song is about him tripping on drugs. I've had a few out of body experiences before. You feel your whole body just lift and float through the air. That was the best blueberry eyed ever had. 😉😊😁🌲 And this song is fire.😊😊😊❤
Huh ? Serj does guttural vox in plenty of the vids yall did . Daron too . Maybe you just didnt know who was doing which one from the camera splices . All good . LOVE you guys !!!
When u listen to their demos, (the 1995 - 97) he does that a lot, most the time these death growls, in the lives from 1996 - 98 he used to do that a lot on stage as well and they sounded awesome, so crisp
@@JohnWayne-vf5bs yes Suite pee has 2 demos, one from 1995 (really creepy u can't tell wth they are saying sounds like under cave sounds lol but I love this demo is so raw and heavy and so weird) and one from 1997 (this one is more similar to the studio version, but the growls are louder)
21 years later could you honestly see a whole crowd screaming fuck the system now? 1st guy to start that chant now would probably not make it out alive. World is full of authoritarians
When it comes to SOAD and christianity, there's a different perspective to the strongly protestant view you guys might have from the south. Armenia was the first country in the world to officially convert to christianity, in the same period that the Romans were still persecuting them. Today in the west, it's pretty obvious of the differnces between catholics and protestants, now imagine a branch nearly 1000 years older than that. It's fair to say they have a different perspective on religion to you guys, and SOAD's main thing when it comes to Christianity, is, at least partly, viewing the American Christian culture through that lens.
No feature in this song. And in my interpretation the music is about people who kill and do atrocities in name of their religion. When he talks about Jesus he's talking about religion itself. And yeah i requested the live cause SOAD is always destroying live

I prefer the demos, they goes harder, but the studio version is dope af
@@leonidasneves7972same, the 1995 demo is so trip
It’s better. This sounded horrible recorded on video. Sometimes live performances should stay live. If you missed it live then you missed it.
@marquislexil I do agree with that also. Not even a fan of live albums.
@@clos49er05 it depends on the live album. If they fix the sound in production then it’s usually not so bad.
