Thank you so much for this information.
Although, please how could you share the google docs template, it looks super helpful.
Thank you!
Congratulations Amina I’m also in PA school first year
I love this video girl and it made me subscribe! One question can we get that template in Google Docs?
Is there a way we can get the link to that excel sheet where you organized the school links? that looks super helpful!
I was not the best in High school. When I went to college I did have a great gpa and graduated with honor can i get in university for bachelor degree in biology?
10:43 mentions her GPA in case anyone wondering
Question: I know with PA school it’s full time so how do you support yourself financially?
Loans lol. If you can get them, grants and scholarships. Most schools have you sign a legal contract to disbar working since pa school is a lot.
can you do a video about taking out loans for PA school? do banks give loans for PA school to certain people? in addition, how to find someone to shadow im struggling in that at the moment.
Love to see it❤
Thank you girl 🥰
My gpa is at a 3.45 but im banking on my PCE from my job in healthcare to carry me through with 9,500 hours😭
Hey! I went to CCNY and I'm looking into PA school as well. Do you still have the link for the Google Sheets template you used?
That’s Great, Good luck! Sorry but the template isn’t a public link, it’s something that I created myself using everything I wanted to include. If you are interested, I inserted an picture of mine as reference for anyone who wants to make one. It’s really easy to make
@10:00 gpa
Hi there Ms. Amina! I had a question, did you take a gap year before starting college or after you graduated? Sorry if i missed that part :')
Hello. Yes, I took a gap year
How many patient care hours did you have when you applied?
What I’ve learnt from these videos is to stop watching videos with such titles. I’ve been going through a hard time dealing with a low GPA and trying to find success stories to encourage me but I’ve been met with videos like these where the persons makes a clickbait title for some of us who really need it then proceed to say ‘your gpa REALLY matters’ and claim a 3.3 out of 4 is low. I’ve learnt my lesson. People on here only want views and I need to seek encouragement elsewhere. Congratulations on your gpa and admission into PA school. This video just isn’t right. Another title would have been better
This was not a clickbait title. Most PA schools minimum GPA requirement is a 3.0. My cumulative gpa was a 3.3, CASPA cumulative was a 3.2 and Science 3.1. Idk how low of a GPA you were expecting lol. While you may feel like that may not be “low” in your opinion, it was low in mine based on the schools I was applying to. Everyone I knew had a gpa of 3.5+ Again you shouldn’t compare yourself to anyone though. GPA isn’t the only thing that matters … strengthen other areas in your application too. Good Luck.
@@AminaBands knowing minimum gpa is 3.0, why would 3.1 be considered low? Out of 4. You met the requirements. If we’re being completely honest and looking at this objectively, that’s not a low gpa. I get that it’s low in your opinion but objectively, that’s a pretty good gpa. If we’re talking about opinions, even 3.9 can be considered low if someone’s standards are higher but would it be fair for them to make a video giving advice for low GPA? I won’t deny you the opinion but let’s be real, you could have used any other title but you chose that one because you wanted more clicks and view even if it was at the expense of someone’s mental well-being. It’s not right. Imagine making a video on how to budget when you’re poor but it’s all filled with advice for someone who is ‘poor’ in the eyes of Elon Musk or something. It’s upsetting and kicks some people further down when they simply wanted some help. Not everyone has friends so UA-cam is their only source for advice and encouragement when they feel like failures. You should have simply picked a title more honest because you met the requirements and even surpassed them a little and your advice for strengthening your application only works for people with a good Gpa but want to increase their chances due to the competition. ‘How to increase your chances of getting into PA school | my experience’ ‘Strengthening your PA Application’. Adding the low gpa was unnecessary because it’s subjective and just gets people involved who shouldn’t be involved
Again its all based on your perspective and how you view it. When I was looking for motivation myself I couldn’t find anyone with the same GPA I had. In my opinion my GPA was low and by low I did not mean as “under the minimum requirements” My intention of this video is to uplift anyone regardless of GPA. Its MY VIDEO & MY TITLE, always remember everyone has different definitions of things. So if I’m telling you that’s what I meant thats what I meant … We both share two different opinions CLEARLY but the overall message is regardless of GPA you still have a chance. I wish you all the best. Goodbye.
@@AminaBands I’m not trying to disprove your opinion. I’m just saying, it’s subjective because it’s an opinion. It’s not a fact. It might be your video but you’ve brought it on a public platform so I’m allowed to speak up especially if I feel it will be harmful to me and others. There were so many ways to phrase that but you chose the most clickbait one to get more views and that’s not right. Congratulations to you for your success and goodbye.
@@Maddy-fd2uf Hi there, what is your total GPA? What is the science GPA? and what is the PA prerequisite GPA? Would you consider retake the courses?
Did you e-permit any courses? I'm e-permitting a few since I'm a little behind on pre-req courses but I'm afraid this might make my application look bad.
Yes I did a bunch actually. It won’t make your application look bad at all. Just make sure the schools you’re taking the courses at are accredited. Some schools require specific classes to be taken at 4year institutions instead of community colleges so just be aware and research based on the schools you’re applying to. Don’t be afraid to ask them questions via email or phone call either! Good luck!
Did you plan to live with roommates while in pa school?
What PA school did you get into?
hey! how did you get volunteering and shadowing hours?
I shadowed through PAs at my job as a PCT. Volunteered through local organizations
wow congrats girl!! i went to ccny too! 🫶🏼im applying this yr ✨ what school u got accepted to? im curious 😇
Do you ever say what “low” is ?
Yes. Watch the video in full.
Is getting an associate degree in nursing and working as nurse good before PA school
Working as a nurse will give you direct PCE hours and the skills you will perform are a plus to your application. However, keep in mind admission committees look at other aspects too. The type of degree doesn’t really have much of an impact, its more so the type of classes you’ve taken and how they will prep you as a PA student. Remember the nursing and medical model are two different approaches to healthcare. Also, you can have an associates degree but Bachelors degrees are commonly required by PA programs.
Does pct or cma goes toward hours or is it like hha
Usually yes but Depends on your duties in both. It can either go towards healthcare hours or direct patient care experience. Different schools also consider different roles differently. Read this article to get a better understanding of what I mean. Hope it helps!
