Hey, did the Chad get his pocket knife from a review, from the channel called wrangelstar?
Heck yeah
This is great! When are we getting an update on the mead?

I love how Chad was able to keep up with Brian and Jason’s antics. It’s way more enjoyable when the guest is able to joke around instead of standing there all awkward cuz they’re trying to be serious
Also the crystal 20 bit is 1000/10 😂😂😂😂

Cracking open one of my own brews for this video, thought it was suiting
Anyone else think Chad is like the Michael Reeves of beer Amirite?
Bro he looks exactly like Michael Reeves except he's slightly chubbier and he's white. And he's not short
hmmmm "If ingested, calcium chloride can lead to burns in the mouth and throat, excess thirst, vomiting, stomach pain, low blood pressure, and other possible severe health effects. ... In extreme cases of exposure or ingestion, this chemical can cause skin burns, cardiac disturbances, respiration issues, and seizures"
Now that's just classic Brian.

It is always five o' clock somewhere though...
@@Gandalf-The-Green It's only half past 12, but I don't care.
*_It's five-o-clock somewhere_*
0:35 To add to that disclaimer, as soon as the yeast is added, alcohol is being produced. That means *you then have to be of legal handling age to be able to even work with it after that.*
So if you can get a job handling alcohol in your state, you can still interact with the beer, even if you're 2-3 years underage to drink it. If you're under 18-19, though, it's safest legally to not even help bottling or anything.
"hey i need a volunteer from the audience." meanwhile Jason stirring a PVC bucket. getting a real breaking bad vibe here.
17 y/o me watching this like
“Ah yes important information for me to need to know for my immediate situation.”
Seriously tho, good episode
1 Million!!! I love you guys! Really love becoming a Modern Rogue!
Fun Fact: I have a homebrew beer kid and i'm about to start using it! I actually just made my own batch of mead (a small batch) and some friends of mine are looking into making their own mead! (5 gallons currently fermenting) and my inspiration has been you guys! I've spent a lot of time researching laws and such and we're going to check out a brewery tomorrow on a tour! So... Thanks Modern Rogue!
I feel like this video is part of an unending cycle of:
1. Make 3 gallons of beer.
2. Drink 1 gallon each.
3. Make 3 more gallons of beer.
4. Drink that, too.
5. Repeat steps 1-4.
There's not a chance in the world that any of these fellas are sober.
That pretty much sums up the life of a homebrewer. Brew then drink then brew then drink, and on and on.
Pre-episode Brian looks like he’s going through his emo faze at 35
Looks like he wants a body pillows instead of hullo pillow(sponsor).
When I first saw this I instantly thought pruno
Cody Baker They wouldn’t drink it if they did that
Lucille Francois oh they’ve already made it before, and HECK NO did they drink it.
This is actually a really good video for the basics of extract brewing not to much info to overwhelm you but enough to teach you de basics and how to get started!
Congratulations on 1 Million subscribers guys!
Congrats on the 1mil subscribers, been watching since the vaporizing whisky thing way back when. Straight makes me happy
Holy cow, only 1 million subscribers?! I thought there would be like 5-10 million, how is this channel that underrated?!
You guys are amazing, super congratulations on making it to 7 digits!
I really love seeing your drinks-based videos - even tried making some of them myself - but could we see a video in the future on making Mocktails, so that no Modern Rogue will ever be disarmed when hosting a friend or guest who can't/doesn't drink?
homebrewer here: this is an excellent introduction to homebrewing! there may have been one or two things left out or not thoroughly explained but it is all correct, i even learned a thing or two listening to this guy.
very excellent video
Thanks man! I think some of the explanation was cut out in the final edit. Hopefully it makes sense to newbies.
0:19 Fun fact: The pronunciation of Cthulhu that we all know and love is not the one that H.P. Lovecraft intended. According to him, it was supposed to be pronounced more like "KHHLOOL-hloo," with a very guttural sound on the first syllable.
I’ve been brewing for 9 years. I whole heartily approve of this guy’s advice.
1 million subscribers, 840 patrons, and a world headquarters and you still can't stretch to having Jason in the profile picture?
He looks and sounds like a mix of Michael Reeves and Todd Howard.
Holy shit
Ahh yes, a modern rogue show ON my birthday? count me in!
Them: The Modern Rogue is brewing beer!
Me: Ayyyyyy
Them: Its an extract brew
Me: Awwww
Nothing against starting with extract though
Add a few pounds of base malt (Ale malt) to the speciality malts in a larger bag and let it sit a bit longer, instead of using that powdered malt extract. Look for BIAB brewing here on YT to get started with all grain brewing the easy way. 🍻
@@MarsMountain We might cover it in a followup!
@@ChadRamey please do an AG IPA with modern rogue.
Congrats on a million subscribers, guys!!! Couldn't be happier!

Yeah!!! You guys finally hit 1 MIL!!! Love you guys!!!
It feels like, with Brian and Jason there, that this video was more geared towards the novice or entry-level brewer. With that being the case, it seems kind of counterintuitive that they demonstrated it with things like an oxygen tank as opposed to the more labor-intensive but newbie-friendly ways like just stirring it in a brew bucket.
Modern Rogue and Adam Ragusea making recipes about tasty fermented stuff within three hours of each other
My prayers have been answered!
I'm surprised it took you guys so long to make a home brew episode. I was inspired to start home brewing mead after watching your mead episode, and it didn't take long before I branched out to brewing beer as well.
Glad it turned out well, very rewarding process.
Welcome to the wonderful hobby of homebrewing! Be careful, it may turn into a lifestyle. Cheers!
It was a pleasure meeting you at the Bastards Ball, Brian!
I completely forgot these guys haven't had one million subscribers up until this point, for some reason I kept thinking they were up there with Markiplier and his friends with multiples of millions because these guys are just the best, lol
1 MILLION SUBS!!!!! Congrats guys keep up the great content
As a Homebrewer I would just like to say. NO squeezing the bag will not release tannins that's an old misconception that keeps getting spread around. The amount of pressure needed to squeeze tannin out of grain is way higher then a human could produce.
This isnt the modern rouge, this is the modern dwarf
At 11:16 Jason scratching his beard over the boil kettle, that should add a certain je ne sais quoi...
Modern Rogue doing an episode on creating beer at home? *Sips homebrew* this should be good.
Sooo, Chad spent so much money on the multitude of chemicals he added to 4 ingredient beer, he could only afford two glasses.
Fun fact: in Louisiana, not only can you drink your own brewed drinks regardless of age, technically in any private residence you can drink regardless of age without any consent, parental or governmental.
21:56 Jason left hanging...
How many more million subs until people spell rogue correctly?

Chad Ramey uses some big words lol. Great video, I think I just called the wort "Beer Water" in our video.

You guys finally made it to a million! It feels like yesterday when I found this channel and it only had a few thousand subscribers, pretty crazy
It's finally come, after the episodes with the beerists and the how to make mead, it's all coming together.

I don’t drink beer, but I love this channel, so I’m still going to watch! You guys are awesome!

Making your own alcohol is so fulfilling. I've been making mead and moonshine for myself for the last few months and it's awesome!

11:37 when Brian and Jason said "it smells like pineapple Express!" I started asking shit, is weed legal in Texas? Turns out they meant a pineapple Express beer 😂. I kinda wanna see Brian and Jason get stoned now 😂

It's easier to start with wine
Nah start with making Mead. They already made an episode on it. All you need is water honey and yeast without having to boil anything
Start with apple juice. Its easy af
If you just wanna get drunk just make mead or use pure juice and yeast that's will be easier
