Pros- lovely willow, classy looking decals, hitting area taps up well Cons- thin shoulders, square toe, flat face all together a recipe for breakage Side note why do people focus on measurements ? A smaller well pressed and made bat is better than a 65 mm spine plank. feel, balance and performance are the most important factors when choosing a bat Would I buy one of these, no
It’s certainly going to be used on a variety of wickets types. Id be leaving or defending the lengths I cannot turn into half volleys. Which is about 99% at my age🤣
Appreciate your feedback on the square toe. I had a custom made bat with a square toe that broke exactly where you showed and it's not possible to fix it. Also how to add counter weight at the top of the handle for better pickup?
I would keep the measurements, one of the most important things I look for when buying a bat. Also, would love for you to review a Millichamp & Hall bat if someone sends one in!
Nice review Marc. Another pro of rounded toes is how much better a bat can pick up after rounding the toe. So much weight (particularly for a bat with a thicker toe) can come out (and from so low) that the bat can pick up multiple ounces lighter.
So true. Don’t forget the other issue - bat toe gets snagged on the turf and you end up with a handle tip in the legs or balls. Ouch. Seen a few nasty slide attempts with square toes with players suffering nasty injuries to shoulders. Do not recommend
Calipers and Gauge was your USP! I first subscribed your channel for that very reason, and of course your 'no bones about it' straight to the point reviews... I absolutely love 'The Gauge n Caliper' format.. Many people copied your style and garnered views! Please don't do away with it.. It'd be a Hurt! A bad One!
I just feel when bat manufacturers reduce all the wood by the splice and shoulder the bat gets compromised for Crack and breakage, you can have slight concaving at the bottom but if they leave the wood up top the bat gets better balanced and should not feel bottom heavy

Yep. Let’s all get academy width bats with 42 mm edges muhahaha
Lovely looking grains.....I think with that profile be best for a turf cricketer not a synthetic hard wicket hack like myself.

Looks very tidy. I like your idea of the tennis racquet tape under the grip...genius!
Thankyou Michael. Been doing it for a while and they are cheaper way than a grip
If you pop up the measurements as you talk through them maybe??
Maybe. We will see.
great bat but not good for slogging and power hitting
Agreed, some people are mad buying expensive bats for slogging. Better to look at grades 4-2 if you play loose
Would love to see the measurements in the review. I am a big fan of that.
Trend here in the comments. I add something and get no feedback, take away something and the world is on 🔥. Use the chapter’s in this video?
Waiting for you to review gray nicholos new range
.
Me too. I offered GN to do that, but they said no. So i’ll just wait for the new season.
You know what i am only gonna buy GN after your review:)
Got to view CP bats at a local retailer for the first time, nice bats, very impressed with the finishing and overall quality
Thanks Zach. Great share.

Use tape or grip off-cuts on very tip of handle. In my experience it will not help once the bat is 2.11 plus
Absolutely brilliant grains, great looking bat, high quality.
It’s definitely a bat you look twice at. Stunning grains
Great work Mark, keep your pecker up about the weather - you could be living in the UK..!!
Generally we do in Summer. Houses are built for hot not cold and sheds are just extremes of both. Opposite for you. Chin raised

Me too. Seem rare in Australia. Old ones accepted.

We will see how this video goes. Stats don’t lie. Channel growth is stagnant, likes and comments down.

I played with bats in the 90s with massive 28 mm edges!
@@CricketBatInfo everyone nowadays are looking for 40+ edges
I think its overrated
Nor that great value , ping distribution is okay.
Its cleaner and cheaper than some SS I did recently. People buy this on Looks and its got that in spades.
