I’m not convinced going without talc has improved the image or performance of the luxury brands. Better quality control and an ad campaign would have served them better IMHO. I am seriously doubting my preference for luxury cosmetics. The lipstick formulas seem to have held performance and status. It’s always easier to persuade me to buy a lipstick. Thank you for reviewing these. I’m happy to see that you like them.
Great Video, Lexi, as always. You are the best. I went with one Satin (the Plum shimmer) and one Velvet (the blue pink). The completionist in me went for the Backstage palette. I also picked up the new five pan with the light blue and two of the new Lip Maximizer shimmers (not the yellow)!

Great video and great swatches as usual and spot on with the details. The lipsticks are stunning…hard to pick just one but daisy plum is my first choice. Reminds me a little of Hermes prunior lip in color only…different formula, texture and opacity but color seem similar.

I also ordered the Smoky Essentials palette. Hopefully it will be right for me. I've been so disappointed with the new formula of the quints, so I'm glad I bought quite a few in the old formula. I bought a backup of my two favs, Tutu and Soft Cashmere, before they were out of stock. Thank you, Lexi, for all that you do!

Lexi - this video was immensely helpful and so comprehensive - thank you so much for the amount of work you put into this. And doing a wear test on more than one lipstick was fantastic dedication to the cause! The eye shadows looked nice enough but hearing that they are rather powdery and therefore prone to messiness was a black mark for sure. I liked the lipstick shades but when you compared the same ones from previous collections I actually preferred the tones and colours of those to the newer collection. I did however very much like the fuchsia colours, especially on you. It was nice too to see the Suqqu comparison colour which was lovely 😊
I bought my trusty 100 Nude Look in the satin formula and I'm very happy with it. Love the new magnetic closure! I also bought the Peach Popeline eyeshadow palette and the blush in Delicate Rose from the new spring collection - both gorgeous. Now that I know I like the new lipstick formula I'll be buying more colours ... 😊

This eye palette would drive me crazy. I'd plan an eye look by looking at the pans, and would realize while applying that the colors were unexpected. In a too rosy, muddy bad way. As for the lip colors, I have to believe that both the players at Dior and Chanel talk to each other. Both brands have done reformulations of almost everything in order to implement huge price increases. I feel played by both brands after watching what they've done over the past year+ and am trying other brands because of it. Even if the prices are comparable. Also, have you seen the new Cle de Peau lip colors? Limited Edition, with beautiful packaging, but $110 each? C'mon! Thanks for the video. Oh yeah, before I go, what do you think of the SUQQU lipsticks? 💚
The smokey essentials reminds me of the 90’s lol when I was a kid every supermodel had those kinds of eyeshadows. I really like the color pallet but the new backstage looks so chalky now and I’m sad they dumped the primer. I really liked the primer 😣

Hi! Yes the lip balms fit in the new cases. I don't think one of these colors in particular is more forgiving but I think the satin formula overall is more forgiving so I would choose one of those.
I have a Rose Harpers satin from 10 years ago and the shade is noticeably different from the shade you are wearing. So looks like they changed the colours a bit in the reformulation.
Lol! I'm going to get more during the spring Sephora sale or a department store sale when they start being sold at other retailers. They are really nice lipsticks.

Hi Lexi- I see this is exclusive to Dior- who I won’t buy from anymore. Customer service is awful. I was looking at the Dior backstage palette on Selfridges called Nude Essentials- is that a better formula? Since Dior removed the talc, seems like they haven’t figured out a succinct way to formulate their shadows to be more consistent. 🤷🏻♀️
From what I have heard, it isn't exactly the same shade. Some of the old shades match up well and some don't. It doesn't sound like this one is identical but I haven't seen it in person.
Glad they have the Rose Blues in Matte. I love the colour and have it in the Forever formula, but the Forever formula gives me terrible cat's bum lips. Too drying
This palette…meh. I was hoping after the greatness of Silver Essentials all the new Backstage palettes would be great. (Also, why did they name the silver “essential” but make it limited edition?) So glad they didn’t mess up the lipsticks with the reformulation and even made them better! Yay!! I really like the magnetic cap! It’s about time! I think it’s so much nicer. (I LOVE the Rouge Forever formula and can’t wait to try the velvets, especially. These shades look great on you! You obviously chose well!!
Yes, it hurt and then I didn't realize how far down I cut it so when I snagged it on a towel the next day, it was majorly painful!! Now I'm just being extra cautious.

I didn't try the nude essentials palette but it should be the same as this one.
There is a rose harpers in the old Formulars i have one but its a fuchsia pink is it the same color?
