The new velvet formula lipstick was a winner for me too. Among my favourites are 'Icône' and '1947'. I was advised once by a makeup artist that if you try on a shade of lipstick without any other makeup and it lifts your face and makes your skin sing, then that is the shade for you. This should also work for nude lipsticks, which for me is one of the shade types that is the most difficult to get right without looking like death-warmed-over. If the shade only looks right with lipliner or more makeup then I personally prefer to skip it. Shade 220 Beige Couture in my opinion might be one of those shades that will need help with a lipliner at least, however, I agree that 218 Rose Velvet works better. Shade 219 Rose Montagne in Satin formula lifts your complexion nicely, and would give a nice balance (more so than 220) with a more intense eye look. Definitely a keeper for you. Next time you are at the Dior counter, may I suggest you try 1947, which I think would look lovely on you (and with Dansante blush).

So hard to chose, these colors are so pretty! I would say Rose Blues, then Rose Montaigne and Rose Rose. My actual favorite (old satin formula) is Rendez-vous, but I might be tempted by one of these❤ thank you for the detailled swatches.
Rendez-vous is one of the most beautiful colors. ❤️ Rose blues is unique in my opinion. Even though it looks a bit dark on me it's such a pretty color when applied lightly. I also adore Rose rose and rose montaigne. I think you can't go wrong with any of these. :)

I really like the beige conture and rose blues velvets. I will be interested to hear your thoughts regarding the lip liners. I have 100 and 999 in the old formula. Thank you for the demonstrations. Hi Donna, Please watch the video from 00:36 to see all names of the lipsticks and how they look in the bullet. If necessary pause the video. I wrote all names and numbers and I show closeps of each one. Then, at 02:37 you can see arm swatches with numbers of the colors, and if you wait until 02:53 you will see the same swatches filmed at different angle, and again the numbers are written. Pause the video if you need more time to better see the colors. Then starting at 03:54 of the video I hold each color while talking about it. I show it swatched in natural light vs studio light and I show it on my lips. You can see very accurately the colors. I made sure lighting is good and true to real life. I always make tests before filming. Please make sure you watch in HD so that you get the best experience. I hope this helps. Xoxo
Have you ever tried any of the Dior Matt Balm lipsticks" ? I think they are discontinued, which is a shame because they gave the most lovely 'bouche mordu' look while being non-drying and long lasting. This winter I have been reaching for the shades in Icône and the classic 999. They give my lips a dressed-up-polished-feel without looking overdone, especially the red shade.
Dior's Rose Montaigne definitely gives a brightening effect to your skin, it's very pretty! My lips are somewhat pigmented, so think I need to go with a slightly more pigmented shade. I was looking at the Dior 277 Osee, 434 Promenade, 525 Cherie, and 683 Rendevous (might be a bit too pigmented?) Have you tried any of these shades?
Hi Sara, I still have 434 Promenade from the old ones and it is quite dark on me but I really like it. I don't know if the new one will be the same but I think they kept the old colors the same. I think you will love it. I believe I still have Cherie. It's gorgeous! I do remember 683 and 277 from the old formula. 277 Osee was a very pretty pink. I want that color so badly!!! In fact it's in my cart lol. 683 Rendevous is so pretty too. If you have more pigmented lips, I think these will suit you well. BUT I haven't seen them in the new formula. I think they will be almost identical to the old formula but I can't confirm for sure. It's late here in Europe but tomorrow morning when I have daylight I will swatch 434 Promenade, 525 Cherie from the old formula because these are the ones that I currently have just to give you an idea. I find it extremely disturbing when I see the face and lips too close and I agree with the previous comment that closups always change the colors. I want to see the makeup on her and how it affects her whole face, eyes, hair. In real life you would never get closer than this to someone. I think Angela's videos are very realistic.
I think the new dior satin formular is so bad, in the early nineties l‘oreal lipstick had the Same sent and taste, such a chemical, bubblegummy sent and taste and the formula is so drying. Big disappointment, got an engraved case but I will never repurchase a refill.

I think we need more closer shots of you wearing each color on your lips. Right now we only see the closer shots on your arms but not on your lips.
I love that she doesn't show too close. I find it distracting with other creators and it always changes the color. I like to see her whole face.
