Brain fart alert 🚨 I said I saw Metallica on the Master Of Puppets Tour December 2016 , sorry I was only off by 30 years 🤣 it was December 1986 ! *** NO PROFESSIONALS WERE USED IN THE MAKING OF THIS VIDEO ***
Pretty much a whos who of classic thrash metal right there! And to think there are a couple here I've never even heard, but if they're getting spun on planet six strings then I know they must be bangers! Great list Darcy.
I just never got into the death angel album when I bought it 6 years ago but I may need to revisit it again . And while I know what you mean with flotsams cover of Elton john , buuuuut it’s real good cover 😂😂🤘 ~Krash
Hi ! Great albums for me too ... Remembering these years I would mention the first albums of technical speed/thrash band Coroner from switzerland, great band ! 🤘👍🤘
My top ten favorite thrash metal albums that everyone should know are: 1.Metallica-Master of Puppets 2.Slayer-Season in the Abyss 3.Megadeth-Rust in Peace 4.Annihilator-Never, Neverland 5.Coroner-Mental Vortex 6.Artillery-By Inheritance 7.Overkill-Horrorscope 8.Testament-Legacy 9.Sepultura-Arise 10.Xentrix-For Whose Advantage And the Polish team Know, because it is in no way inferior to Western productions and has its own unique style 11. Acid Drinkers-Acidofilia 19:17
So cool to see Artillery By Inheritance on your list, it’s an absolutely thrashterpiece! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 🤘 Stay Heavy ~ Darcy
As always, great picks, Darcy! No Place for Disgrace is definitely a thrashterpiece, although I would choose Doomsday, still a hidden gem, like the band itself. The Years of Decay and Violent Restitution are perfectly rated, but again I would replace them with some previous albums - Feel the Fire and Evil Invaders. Death Angel on the other hand, never been my thing, I really like their debut and some of the more recent stuff, but it never clicked with me.
Wicked top 10 my friend. Yes razor definitely deserves more attention their catalog is absolutely amazing. They were faster and heavier than any of the big 4 back in the day. And all I have to say is 🤘Kreator Kreator Kreator 🤘 Wicked video Darcy
Great video Darcy. You can't go wrong with Flotsam & Jetsam's first 2 albums. Have both as OG's. Totally agree with Testament's the Legacy. The best debut thrash album along with Overkill's Feel the Fire...which I have OG copies of as well. Overkill is hard to pick my favourite album. I think it would be either Feel the Fire or Taking Over or The Years of Decay. With Metallica it would be either Ride the Lightning or Masters of Puppets. Anthrax would be Spreading the Disease. You gotta do some more thrash classics videos. Top Stuff again Darcy. 👍 from 🇭🇲
I love megadeth! God bless all the rattleheads! Jesus saves sinners! Thanks for sharing. Greetings from ashland ohio! If you like it heavy, MEGADETH weighs a ton!
Great choices there Darcy. All classics. Cool to see Razor make the cut. F&J are probably the most overlooked thrash band after their debut so good to have something different from them in there.
A lot of people I talk to only know Flotsam & Jetsam’s first couple of albums & the latest few , but there is plenty to check out in the middle ! Their 3rd , 4th & 5th albums When The Storm Comes Down , Cuatro & Drift are being reissued on cd by Universal Japan , all long out of print & not easy to find at good price , so this is good news for fans that want check out more of their early work ! Cheers GRock 🤘 Flotz ‘Til Death
Always enjoy another thrash review video. Super excited to get Flots “no place” on vinyl. Thanks for the heads up! It’s been a long wait for this one. Not sure if you saw this but the demos are being released this week “Flotsam And Jetsam - Iron Tears & Metal Shock” on VIC records out of the Netherlands. “Years of decay” and “extreme aggression” are 2 of my top favorites as well.
Yes I have that Flotz on pre-order , will be cool to here those demos ! Also if you’re interested the Flotz self titled from 2016 first on AFM Records is getting reissued on a very cool purple vinyl , check it out on the AFM site ! Thanks for taking the time to hang out & chat some thrash with me ! Have a great weekend 🤘 Flotz ‘Til Death
No doubt that Exumer is a great band , I discovered them late , happy to know them now , I own all 5 of their studio albums . Lightning is my middle name 😉 Cheers RR
Truly Metalhead Darcy brother of METAL. I know is hard for you to pick 10 favorite album. You know what, there are so many great album of thrash, especially 3 or 4 first classic album of each band. So you have to make another video. You can add Slayer and Pantera (major label era). If you don't do it, Jeff Hanneman and Dimebag will haunted you.
Great picks Darcy! Great albums, specially Testament Legacy and Exodus🤘🏻 been listening to a great thrash metal band lately: Havok. I regret not getting into to them before. Take care and Salud mi amigo! 🍺
Nothing but classics and masterpieces right here! Love these records, and I really enjoyed some of the 6string lore behind them, hahaha. Serieusly, I love those back in the day stories! A video about nothing but classics is always a good one, looking forward to more of these man! 🤘
Why did you not pick my favorites?! And Slaaaayer?! Haha. Great choices, I think Bonded By Blood is a lot better than anything they've ever done after, such a killer record! Baloffs vocals are fantastic! Same goes for the Legacy and The Ultra-Violence (that was the only "surprise" pick). Flotsam and Megadeth I could manage without but for Kreator, Metallica, Razor and Overkill, they have several great ones, but your favorites are probably mine to.
Haha I knew I’d get some shit for not including Slayer on this list , but trust me I do like them , especially the three albums I mentioned ! Agreed on Baloff , not a great singer but man does he fit that band & he was so good live ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Have a great weekend :))
Oh my! I’ve just had a thrashgasm watching this Darcy, lol! Some of the best albums ever recorded on show here & ones that I love dearly & still resonate massively with me to this day!! Marvellous show my friend!!🤘🏻
Thrashgasm 🤣 Oh boy I almost pissed my pants ! Probably did anyway , I’m at that age ! Can wait to do a video of thrashterpieces I’ve discovered over the past 4 years or so , you already know what’s spinning at Planet6Strings right now anyhow 😉 Cheers mate
Definition of old. Remembering have all stuff on cassette, and playing them on a "Ghetto Blaster". Okay, not very PC, but that's what it was called back in the day.
My list would be ARTILLERY "Fear Of Tomorrow", SLAYER 'South Of Heaven",KREATOR 'Violent Revolution", METALLICA 'Master Of Puppets", OVERKILL 'Ironbound", TESTAMENT "The Gathering", MEGADETH "Peace Sells..." ,ANTHRAX "Among The Living", HOLY MOSES 'Disorder Of The Order" and SODOM "Code Red".
Great video. I have always loved thrash, but am only recently giving most of the 80’s stuff a chance. I always overlooked it but am glad I have had a change of heart. Have found so many absolutely killer stuff! I know most of these killer records you’ve shown, but not all.. I have never heard act III , to name 1. Thanks for sharing some of your favs brother. Thrash till death.🤟🤟🤟
A cacophony of thrashterpieces courtesy of Mr Sixstrings. All top quality albums that deserve all the praise they gather. Razor passed me by until recently but now a definite favourite. Looking forward to further episodes Darcy 🤘💀🤘
Excellent list Darcy, some I Agree with, other I could happily replace, but as you say, there can easily be a part 2... and 3 when it comes to Thrash. I would havecto include Slayer, Voivod, and Destruction , but I'm sure they will make your part 2 😉. Cheers 🍻 🤘
The best thing about getting old is remembering all the good bands. Hey, I may be a dinosaur, but I'm a T-Rex mister, and don't forget it! 🍻🤘 Just about every album on this video is a winner!
My list is: Merciless - The Awakening Destruction - Eternal Devastation Celtic Frost - To Mega Therion Metallica - Ride the Lightning Possessed - Seven Churches Dark Angel - Darkness Descends Sodom - Agent Orange Sacred Reich - Ignorance Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
The only band I haven’t heard anything from is Merciless , I need to check them out if they are on a great list like this ! Thanks for sharing your list & thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Thank you too! If you haven't listened to this miracle yet, there will always be a chance to solve it. It is so dark and fast. Looks like a combination of Sadus and Kreator. Sick death-thrash. I have it on CD with white tray (2019 Osmose Productions), it sounds so good. Also check these tracks: Pure Hate 🔥🔥🔥 Souls of The Dead 🔥🔥 The Awakening 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Realm of The Dark 🔥🔥🔥 Denied Birth 🔥🔥🔥 Cheers from Ukraine🇺🇦! Stay as true and heavy as our defenders!
Solid choices here Darcy. Some of my favorite thrash albums would have to be... Megadeth - Rust In Peace Metallica - Ride The Lightning Anthrax - Among The Living Sepultura - Beneath The Remains Death Angel - Act III Overkill - The Years of Decay
I see Power Trip come up quite a bit on these type of lists , I’ve never heard that album ! Great list you got there , a couple I see that will be on my part 2 for sure ! Thanks as always my friend 🤘
Sodom- Agent Orange Overkill- Years of Decay Death Angel- The Ultra Violence Kreator- Extreme Aggression Testament- Practice what you Preach Anthrax- Among the living Slayer- South of Heaven Megadeth- Peace Sells Sepultura- Arise Metallica- Ride the Lightning
I’m super pumped to finally get No Place on vinyl , next I’m hoping to see MOV reissue Metal Church The Dark , that’s another one that’s long overdue !
All absolute thrashterpieces🤘killer choices mate. Slayer seasons would make my list and I would probably choose a couple of different albums from a couple of the bands as I got into them a few years later. Exodus I’m still missing in my collection. Cheers 🍻
hey man, I would be interested in seeing a video of you going over some albums from your teenage years, and maybe telling some stories along with them. Cheers.
I'm glad you're feeling well and healthy, Darcy! I want to leave you links to two thrash (leaning on melo-death) albums that I enjoyed in my teenage years back in the 2000s. However, UA-cam removes comments when people leave links, so I will name you the two albums below to look up should you fancy. Also, I like Let There be Blood by Exodus just as much as Bonded by Blood, but I don't get why people complain about it so much. Hopefully you're coming to a concert in BC this year or next! Cheers! 🍻🥂🍕 Decadence - 3rd Stage of Decay The Absence - Riders of the Plague
Yes I’m doing great thank you , hope you are too ! I definitely don’t dislike Let There Be Blood , I just don’t think it was necessary to remake a classic like Bonded By Blood ! Thanks for the recommendations 🤘 Have a great weekend 🍕
On my faves list: I remember Exciter- Heavy Metal Maniac was released early 1983 way before any Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth, Kreator released their debut albums. Growing up in Southern California I heard Forbidden, F&J, Sacred Reich, Eminence, Dead And Bloated, Sepultura, Sodom, Exodus, Forced Entry, Agent Steel, Dark Angel, Epidemic, Overkill, Heathen, Death Angel, Vio-Lence, Abattoir, Destruction, Nuclear Assault, I don’t care for Razor. Never liked them. And Annihilator, never cared for them and only Canadian band I seen live. They opened for Testament in 1989. Slayer is my favorite thrash band. Seen them 11 times. I never considered Metal Church to be thrash. They play slower music. I like them though. Metallica doesn’t even make my top 10. Slayer Kreator Dark Angel Epidemic Exciter Destruction Overkill Death Angel Exodus Agent Steel
Lots of great bands on your list ! I really need to get the first 2 Agent Steel albums & Ep in my collection , they should be due for a reissue soon . I’ve also been on a big German thrash kick for the past while , so cool discovering great albums that passed me by ! Have a great weekend 🤘 Cheers Wil
Darcy and the legendary Planet6Strings to bring the positive chi during insane times! Thank you! 🙂 Another great episode (let's be real, you have never put out a bad one). You cause me a dilemma, though. Because of you I have been listening to loads of Bullet, across their 6 albums, and this video fires me up to play some thrash. I suppose I will have to really mix it up, haha! Thanks for the heads up on the No Place For Disgrace reissue. I LOVE that album and will have to get that. What is so great IS the fact that these bands are all still active. How fortunate we are and I refuse to get jaded! That Overkill Box set is so, so nice. I got both the CD and vinyl versions. Anthrax! Madhouse was the song that grabbed me. Can't believe it has been 6 years since their last! Time flies! Ride the Lightning is my fav from Metallica, I scored one of those electric blue vinyl reissues at Wal-Mart, a remaster, and it looks and sounds great. Peace Sells! My fave Megadeth release! You are kicking ass here, Darcy, haha! Death Angel! And you picked my fav of theirs! The wolf pack trilogy is sooooooo good too! And...as I anticipated...Kreator, from one of my fav Kontent Kreators! 🤣🤣🤣 Keep up the excellence! Thanks for all you do!
Thanks for the kind words my friend , it is nice to escape reality from time to time , even if it’s only for 20 mins . I’m pumped your enjoying Bullet , but yes it’s time for some thrash haha ! I think those 1500 copies of No Place For Disgrace won’t last long , now if MOV reissues Metal Church The Dark next I’ll be a happy camper ! Have a great weekend Stephen 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 thank you for the nudge! I got my order placed, because there's "No Place For Disgrace" for us vinyl loving metalheads! 🤣🤣🤣
Great list of albums. Thrash being my fave style, it would be hard to even pick my Top 100, haha... Oh, there actually was a "Master Of Puppets" tour in 2016, they played the whole record on some German festivals, so your "mistake" was not THAT fatal, hehe....
I will do 90 more eventually , the problem is I like talk too much haha ! I know you said your not buying many new releases this year , will you make exception for the new Kreator ? Thanks as always for checking in on me 🤘 Cheers Jürgen 🍻
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Being very strict to myself I won´t make an exception for the new Kreator. I didn´t like their last two records that much and the new track sounds somehow forced to me. It´s march 11 now and I stood by my words (at least until now), no new album, no reissue. I´m hard as a rock, hahahahaha.....
Hi Darcy! Totally with you on that Metallica “feeling”. I remember getting a tape from my friends older brother with Kill Em All on side A and Ride The Lightning on side B. My life has never been the same since! Although Puppets is my favorite. Act III is my classic too; saw them that year as headliner on Dynamo Open Air, awesome! I wish they still had that diverse sound..
Hey Mark ! Ride & Puppets will always be my favourites , both awesome ! Seeing Metallica & Metal Church December ‘86 was definite game changer ! I do like the latest stuff from Death Angel but honestly it’s time for a producer change , 4 albums in a row with the same guy is too many in my opinion ! Thanks for watching 🤘
You got me into Kreator, and I agree! They have definitely moved into my top 3 favorite bands. Have you checked out Evil Invaders? A great newer thrash/speed metal band who are obviously influenced by Razor.
I did check out Evil Invaders , they didn’t sound as heavily influenced by Razor as I thought they would but definitely some similarities . Yeah Kreator 🤘 can’t wait for that new album !
Hi Darcy!!! well i'm sure your list will cause some commotion in the VC/Slayer fan base...... but can't argue with the rest of the list, all of them are killer records. Btw, i got the chance to grab an OG of F&J "No Place...." last december killer record and artwork too.... Exodus, Razor are still missing in my collection. cheers and be well
Favorite thrash Albums? Okay... lets try Voivod- rrröööaaarrr Slayer- reign in blood Testament- Practice what you preach Kreator- cause for conflict Exodus- shovel headed kill machine Overkill- feel the fire Destruction- infernal overkill Power trip- nightmare logic Death Angel- act III Dark Angel- darkness descents
I love that everyone’s list is different , as it should be ! Great list , good to see Destruction on there , I just picked that up on vinyl this week ! Thanks for watching & commenting 🤘 Cheers Jens
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 variety is just awesome 👍 how boring would it be to have no one to argue about music with😉 love that destruction, awesome pick up. Great Video as usual... keep it going darcy🤘 and yes... how dare you? A thrash list without slayer?? 🤣👍 oh... wait... no metallica on my list... i better leave now🤣
I can't stop smiling... cool video. And I nearly own everything you showed (except the Razor-Album... I definetly have to check that out)... And you are right: Great time for metal, despite the pandemic, and especially thrash, with new releases from Exodus, Flotsam...and Destruction and Kreator have their new stuff on the way! I wondered what you think of Annihilator? Imho, the first two albums are really great. And just to throw in a few of my favorites: Dark Angel Darkness Descend Sodom Agent Orange Destruction Born to Perish (yes, a new one - but mindblowing!) and I would even mention the debut by Metal Church (for me, this is a thrash album!) Take care, stay heavy!
I’m a big Annihilator fan , just like Flotsam & Jetsam they have some very good albums past their first 2 , stay tuned for more Annihilator on this channel ! You will see Metal Church in part 2 , I’ve always argued their first 2 albums have thrash elements , The Dark should of been in this video , love that album ! Thanks for making me smile too 🤘 Take care ~ Darcy
Killer video Darcy! I can’t argue with any of these! All absolute thrashterpieces!! I’m very similar to you in my choices and the time i was getting into them! 👍🤘🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 😁thats cool i cant use my phone 2 watch videos it kills my battery so my tv is better 4 my eyes plus i have a huge screen 😎😜
I don't know anyone who gets excited for Metallica releases these days, they are just riding the legacy of the first 5 albums IMO. Thrash is my favourite sub-genre as well, all great albums there Darcy. While some of those are not my favourites from those bands, you cannot deny the thrashter pieces they are and understand why they are some of your favourites. Great video mate 🤘
Thanks Chad ! I just don’t really care what Metallica is up to anymore , so many of their peers are blowing them right out of the water , it’s not even close ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
Great list. Some of my all time favorites here. Good to know that No Place For Disgrace is getting reissued, did have it on original vinyl back in the days, but did probably sell it at a point. Not a big fan of Megadeth, but that's just me. 🙄And Death Angel is a band I need to listen more to. Razor is great as well. Kreator has always been one of my top 5 thrash bands. Sabbat is one that would have been on my list, Sepultura - Beneath The Remains, Hypnosia - Extreme Hatred. But I think I would have had problems getting it down to ten, so many great albums to pick from. Always cool to see what other people like. Cheers.
Great picks ! Never had any Razor but them and Sacrifice have always been in the back of my mind. My cousin had that Flotsam & Jetsam on cassatte, I liked it a lot but never picked it up. One of my favourites that no one mentions is the Canadian band Dead Brain Cells, I love their first album. I'd also add Crumbsuckers - Beast on My Back. I love that album. Over 30 years and I'm still not sick of it. I've always preferred Terrible Certainty to Extreme Aggression. I never cared for the production, it just didn't feel as raw and heavy as the earlier stuff. Still great selection, every album there deserves a top spot. I'm one of those strange people who would list So far, So Good, So what as their favorite Megadeth album.
Sacrifice is great too , next time High Roller Records reissues those I’m going get them , had a couple on cassette years ago ! I don’t think your strange to have So Far at the top , I’ve always loved that album ! Thanks as always for hanging out 🤘 Have a great weekend :)
Great list Darcy! Among the living is my favourite Anthrax album, love Bonded by blood too! I like the Legacy but New order is my favourite Testament album. Same goes for Megadeth, I like Peace sells but I prefer Rust in peace. Ride will always be my favourite Metallica album! I recently heard Act III, and I honestly think their newer output is better. Maybe it's an age thing! I also recently heard Gods of violence by Kreator and I don't know if I liked it honestly. Defo make a part 2 for this man!! 😊🤘
Thanks Josh ! I think Death Angel have been doing a killer job since 2010 with this lineup , but I have a special spot for Act III , it’s one of those age/had to be there albums for me ! Stay tuned for part II 🤘 Thanks for watching
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Yeah definitely, they're so consistent. Yeah I understand that, I thought it was good just not quite as good as the new ones for me. Can't wait for part 2, welcome mate! 😊🤘
It really is tough , that’s why I approached this video as more of a personal history lesson lol . I was thinking after that it sure is nice to see all these 10 bands still going ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Take care Mark
Great list , thanks for sharing ! Good see some Canadian thrash on your list , also a few that passed me by that I need to check out ! Cheers my friend 🤘 Stay Heavy
I'm fine with not seeing my favorite albums on your list your favorites... I mean, it's your list and not mine :) I actually quite like the F&J Elton John cover. "Among the Living" is hard to beat for sure. I agreethatthe first four Metallica albums are fantastic. The black album is okay, but I don't think it's aged well.
Hello, dude. Nice list. I would make my list : Megadeth - Rust in peace Metallica - Kill them all Annihilator - Carnival diablos Kreator - Hordes of chaos Destruction - All hell breaks loose Coroner - No more color Exodus - Atrocity exhibition - Exhibit A Anthrax - Among the living Slayer - Reign in blood Meshuggah - Chaosphere
Nice to see Annihilator Carnival Diablos on your list , I’m a big fan of both albums with Joe on vocals ! Thanks for commenting & taking the time to make your own list ! Take care ~ Darcy 🤘
In no particular order (except 1 and 2): 1: Metallica - Master of Puppets 2: Metallica - Ride the Lightning 3: Slayer - South of Heaven 4: Overkill - Horrorscope 5: Sepultura - Arise 6: Kreator - Enemy of God 7: Metal Church - The Dark 8: Testament - The Formation of Damnation 9: Lamb of God - As the Palaces Burn 10: Sodom - Code Red
I really like that you included Metal Church The Dark , I’ve always argued that their first 2 albums have enough thrash elements to included it with the likes of these other bands , I’ll put it in part 2 lol . Great list thanks for sharing 🤘
I've not heard F&J all the way through I don't think lol and if I have it's only been once. Razor I've tried and they were ok one time and then I tried them again and they annoyed me so I don't know lol. Good to see Act 3 in there. Bonded by Blood I'm not sure would make my top 100 😂
That’s a concert shirt from 2007 when I saw Heaven & Hell , Megadeth was the opener , it’s in great shape for being 15 years old lol . Thanks for watching 🤘 Stay Heavy ~ Darcy
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Definitely looks like the United Abominations style logo which is my favorite album of all time, trying to find a UA shirt has been a nightmare but thanks for the response!
Ecodus, bonded by blood is good album, maybe not my favorite quite. Testament's legacy is i think best Testament album ever, i have it vinyl too and low i have, souls, practice, the new order. Anthrax is good too, I think among the living is my favorite, i have also it vinyl, state of euphoria is also damn good, oh my one favorite, ride the lightning, actually the black album is my favorite and my one favorite and justice for all, megadeth's peace sells is my one favorite but I think, countdown to extinction is my favorite. Death angel's act III is my favorite, second good is, frolic through the park, i don't like all Death angel albums
I just can't get into the Black album... I think Bob Rock ruined Metallica. 'Ride The Lightning' is a gem! I need to check out that Testament debut. Thanks for another great video!
You made the missing Slayer album up, by putting Kreator in the list. All is forgiven. 😉 ofcourse there are to many albums and bands out there to mention. I think the thrash year was 1986. But some bands still surprised us at 1990, like again the already mentioned Slayer and Kreator, but also Sepultura, if you consider 'arise' to be thrash metal. Greetings 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 i’d recommend you listen to their last album quadra, its a very different album from their btr/arise days but imo its the only one that can stand up to chaos AD and arise If you like it then you should track back fron there, they put out some great stuff in the 10’s
I pre-ordered most of mine from Amazon or I’ve also seen the reissue for No Place For Disgrace available at High Roller Records & at import CDs so far !
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 I don't know why music on vinyl doesn't have pre orders available on their website. I just find it to be a pain to seek these reissues out sometimes.
I only ever heard No Place For Disgrace and didn't dig it at all. I only liked the song Hard On You. I think the vocals annoyed me. I never got Bonded By Blood until after I had the other albums, around Tempo Of The Damned. I like the songs, it's just Baloff's vocals that put me off. I like them on the live album. I love the Let There Br Blood re-recording with Dukes singing. The Legacy is better than Kill 'em Sll if you ask me! That's the only Overkill record I own...recommend me the killer ones!! I swapped my Ride The Lightning vinyl for a beat to fuck lp of AC/DC's Let There Be Rock in 1988.... Peace Sells fucking rules. Nothing more needs to be said... I only liked Seemingly Endless Time, I'm not really into their newer stuff, but admittedly having only heard a few albums....guess I need to check out Razor then.... Extreme Aggressions ripped my face off when it came out (1988), saw Betrayer on tv and that was it! Another killer video Darcy!!
I’m not quite sure on your question Miguel , but I buy a mix of vinyl & cds … just whenever , there is no method to this madness ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
So crazy, Exodus played a street party in Oakland last sunday, it was off the hook!!! All of the bay area was there, all the Death Angel guys, like a family reunion!!
Thank you for respecting my choices , I definitely respect yours too ! Reign In Blood would be next up on the list sure as shit , I remember buying it in ‘86 ! I think everything about it scared me back then , in a good way haha ! Thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada

Sweet list young fella , Exumer would be in my top 10 somewhere and Exodus 'Tempo' for sure . Keep on riding the lightning Darcy.
Great video Darcy! Keep up the good work!
Thank you ! Hope this video doesn’t cost you too much 🤑
Nothing but classics and masterpieces right here! Love these records, and I really enjoyed some of the 6string lore behind them, hahaha. Serieusly, I love those back in the day stories! A video about nothing but classics is always a good one, looking forward to more of these man! 🤘
I’m really glad I picked up the Overkill boxset. I’ve really gotten into them after picking it up.
It’s great to get them all in one shot at a acceptable price 🤑
Absolutely fabulous Darcy, the ultimate classic Thrash collection 🤘🤘
Thanks very much ! Have a great weekend 🤘 Stay Heavy ~ Darcy
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Thanks, you too my friend a great weekend. Stay Heavy 🤘Stay Metal 🦾
Hey Darcy I think you forgot about SLAYER! 😂🤣😂🤘
Oh shit I did 🤣 call it #11 !
Awesome list Darcy. You literally picked up the classics. Of course, i would have squeeze in a Slayer album 😉. Cheers 🍻

SLAYER - Reign In Blood RAZOR - Violent Restitution
DARK ANGEL - Darkness Descends ANNIHILATOR - Alice In Hell
KREATOR - Pleasure To Kill PESTILENCE - Malleus Maleficarum
MEGADETH - Peace Sells MASSACRA - Final Holocaust
SODOM - Persecution Mania DEMOLITION HAMMER - Epidemic Of Violence
Great list Darcy. Only one I don't have is Kreator...a bit too harsh on the singing side. I thought I'd see Nuclear Assault on your list. Cheers!
Thanks Steve ! Nuclear Assault is great , you might see them in a future episode ! Fire up that BBQ & enjoy the nice weather 🤘
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 hopefully soon. I sold my home and have been slowly moving for like two months lol.
A cacophony of thrashterpieces courtesy of Mr Sixstrings. All top quality albums that deserve all the praise they gather. Razor passed me by until recently but now a definite favourite. Looking forward to further episodes Darcy 🤘💀🤘
Excellent albums Darcy! Definitely agree on the debuts from Exodus and Testament! I really like Nuclear Assault Survive and Sodom Agent Orange!
My list is:
Merciless - The Awakening
Destruction - Eternal Devastation
Celtic Frost - To Mega Therion
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Possessed - Seven Churches
Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
Sodom - Agent Orange
Sacred Reich - Ignorance
Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
The only band I haven’t heard anything from is Merciless , I need to check them out if they are on a great list like this ! Thanks for sharing your list & thanks for watching 🤘 Cheers from Canada
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Thank you too! If you haven't listened to this miracle yet, there will always be a chance to solve it. It is so dark and fast. Pure Hate 🔥🔥🔥
Souls of The Dead 🔥🔥
The Awakening 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Realm of The Dark 🔥🔥🔥

That’s great news that the Flotsam album is getting a MOV release!
Cheers 🍻
No shit Slayer would be on your list haha ! Hope you can grab a copy of Bonded By Blood soon , it’s a must have mate ! Cheers DOOMinator 🤘
Hey Darcy, Slayer is missing 😂 Great list!! I love this 10 of your favorite albums series that you have going on 🤘🏻
What !! Slayer is missing 🤣 Thanks very much , I have lots of favourites 🤘 Stay Tuned :))
hey man, I would be interested in seeing a video of you going over some albums from your teenage years, and maybe telling some stories along with them. Cheers.
That’s a great idea , I may just do that ! Thanks as always for watching 🤘 Cheers right back at you :))
Interesting idea. Teen years are usually the strongest years for music appreciation.
Cheers! 🍻🥂🍕
Decadence - 3rd Stage of Decay
The Absence - Riders of the Plague
Slayer
Kreator
Dark Angel
Epidemic
Exciter
Destruction
Overkill
Death Angel
Exodus
Agent Steel
Lots of great bands on your list ! I really need to get the first 2 Agent Steel albums & Ep in my collection , they should be due for a reissue soon . I’ve also been on a big German thrash kick for the past while , so cool discovering great albums that passed me by ! Have a great weekend 🤘 Cheers Wil
Amazing list of classic thrash metal albums, Darcy! Everyone knows those albums by now. But no Slayer????? Just kidding!
No Slayer , get over it 🤘 Cheers Tony

Voivod- rrröööaaarrr
Slayer- reign in blood
Testament- Practice what you preach
Kreator- cause for conflict
Exodus- shovel headed kill machine
Overkill- feel the fire
Destruction- infernal overkill
Power trip- nightmare logic
Death Angel- act III
Dark Angel- darkness descents

And you are right: Great time for metal, despite the pandemic, and especially thrash, with new releases from Exodus, Flotsam...and Destruction and Kreator have their new stuff on the way!
I wondered what you think of Annihilator? Imho, the first two albums are really great.
And just to throw in a few of my favorites:
Dark Angel Darkness Descend
Sodom Agent Orange
Destruction Born to Perish (yes, a new one - but mindblowing!)
and I would even mention the debut by Metal Church (for me, this is a thrash album!)
Take care, stay heavy!

Cheers.
For some reason I’ve not gotten into Testament. I will need to revisit their discography.
You need to fix that immediately ! Start with The Legacy , you’ll be hooked from the get go 👍
@@darcysixstringsninelives3493 Great suggestion! I will check The Legacy out first.

Greetings 🤘
My personal favourite years for thrash were ‘86 & ‘88 ! Arise is great , I’m sure you’ll see that in Part 2 lol . Cheers Benny 🤘
Arise dropped in ‘91

I never got Bonded By Blood until after I had the other albums, around Tempo Of The Damned. I like the songs, it's just Baloff's vocals that put me off. I like them on the live album. I love the Let There Br Blood re-recording with Dukes singing.
The Legacy is better than Kill 'em Sll if you ask me!
