I ordered some snaps on amazon & they came without any instructions! All other videos have different snaps but this one matched. Thanks for an easy video!
Thanks exactly what I was looking for as most of the other vids have those large poppers and posts and I was rying to work out how to remave the fittings because drilling them looked it might be really awkward to do - thansk again I can now mend my leather bracelets :-D
i use mine over wood all the time, these things are cheap but still dont want to destroy them, i have the hand tools and hammer and the pliers also for other work.
update: I need to make clear that I will need the machine to go through a thick visor...not just a simple piece of fabric..i guess I am looking for something more mechanical than a simple manual operation..
hi I am looking for a snap button tool to use for making newsboy caps (hats), the snaps you show look like the snap you find on visors of caps, will this tool work for me? need your advice.

Binebai Ferdinald Hello! I found snaps like these on amazon. Here is what they were listed as "Hotop 120 Set 4 Colors Snap Fasteners Leather Snaps Button Kit Press Studs with 4 Pieces Fixing Tools, 12.5 mm in Diameter". This is the set I got, the plastic container it comes in is pretty cheap but the sets not very expensive and it has all the pieces you will need to get started.
IYO is this (ie manual method)the best way for installing snap rivets on hats- in my case for newsboy cap brims. Tool needs to be able to go through the sturdy plastic brim and the top/bottom layers of fabric obviously. I know they sell kits everywhere but I need to make sure I can comfortably be able to go through the sturdy plastic piece and fabric without too much struggle.
Hey people I have a question. I have a pretty pricey backpack and there is a button which the half with the hole is broken a bit. Is it possible to just throw the broken part away and add a new one? I would like to keep the other half with the logo on it. Thank you
muqaearat 'am mustawiatan I have a question and I want to make button-mounting tools, but I have a problem with the cap, as when knocking on it I get scratches, so is the base concave or flat
Put a thin piece of cloth or paper between the base and the cap to stop it getting scratched. The base is flat on one side, for the female cap, and pointed on the other side for the male pin.
i get all my stuff from lazada but its in asia only i think, been living here for awhile. anyway, there called snap fasteners, theres also a different kind other than this and you can get different sizes but need different size tools for them.
This is the most useful and succinct video about this topic I've seen so far. It explained where I've been going wrong - thank you.

Thank you for uploading this video. Very helpful.
Thank you for your help.
Protip: If you use the hole punch tool over a soft material like wood or hard plastic it will stay sharp.
