    Thanks for the tutorial! Who knew that snaps were such complex systems...four parts?!? Until a recent snap failure shattered my innocent belief in a good and stable world, I never had the occasion to plunge into the art of snappery. I now feel empowered to restore my coat and fashion integrity.

    Don't use a metal hammer - use a heavy nylon hammer. It does not damage the other tools when you hit them and it gives off less noise.

      Thanks for the tip, I will try this (note to self: buy nylon hammer).

    Bought a lil kit recently to repair a really nice winter coat I was gifted but a few of the snaps got ripped off when I had to crawl through the window of my apartment after locking myself out. $15 investment saving a $300 coat, and your vid assured me it’s easy as pie. Thanks, I’m interested in learning some of this diy stuff to perhaps learn to tailor my own clothes and make repairs. Subbed 🤘

    It is advisable to place a scrap leather piece (2-4mm thick) underneath the fabric so that you do not blunt the hole puncher and keep it sharp every time.

    Thanks for the instructions! Can you tell me where you purchased your snaps? Reviews on Amazon are so up and down on all of them, I can't figure out which set will actually work. Also, do you know if this kind of snap would be okay on regular fabric (cotton) instead of something bulkier like the denim? THANK YOU!!!

    Can we see a closeup of the snap after hitting it with the hammer? Mine look terrible! Also, my button is getting damaged by the hammering. Am I using the right device on the snap when hammering? My round metal circle has a front and a back. Which should I use? I'm ending up with a damaged snap and a ruined project.

    I got a Ben Davis snap front jacket and I've always wanted to replace those funny looking buttons with the monkey face to the shiny gold or silver style buttons to make it look more elegant and less of that gang related style. That's why I removed the monkey brand off. Plus I'll have it custom made.

    When I try to install these four part snaps I run into the problem of the “tube part” of the components rolling when the setting cone presses into them. I’m not sure why this is happening or how to avoid it. Any tips?

    • @LTRLtrend
      @LTRLtrend  Рік тому

      This has happened to me as well. There are a few possibilities/ troubleshooting:
      1. Try to not hammer the post down too far.
      2. Are you using the correct tool size? Did the tools (anvil and setter) come in a "kit" or did you buy the tools separately? If you bought the tools separately, they maybe the wrong size for the post.
      3. The snaps may be of cheap quality....🧐
      Best of luck
