The key here is authenticity. I feel GMBN in general has never really been able to maintain authenticity. Most videos are scripted, but here listening to Owen being genuinely interested in DH, pits, bikes, riders etc. is great. I know these type of 'off the cuff, interview style' videos are by nature more improv etc and most of the videos on gmbn are planned etc etc. I dunno, I just think people these days crave authenticity over everything. I don't watch gmbn videos anymore but it's what got me into MTB years ago, so I'd like to see gmbn pushing out great content like this! Good job on this one guys. (Maybe also I'm just pumped on world champs so am soaking up all this goodness lol, oh well) ( also loved the Don on commentary).
Great job by Owen. Loved the Pole bike- as a QA guy, I loved the billet aluminum frame. Honestly Im thrilled to see metal bikes coming back but wouldn't say no to any of them.
God damn that mondraker makes me want a dh bike. Forget the adjustability, those lines are incredible... especially compared to that busted looking norco, or 90's throw back v10 haha
Funny out old styles come back around. Here is an example. We used to ride with big riding glasses. Those went out of style for a smaller lens. Now they are back in style. The high pivot is back, too.
Just watching the DH World Championships from Fort William. Quite a few seem to be losing tyres. Did riders suffer these amount of flats when innertubes were the norm?
#askgmbntech For the Shimano riders, why are they seemingly still running previous series Shimano Saint drivetrains and brakes? So many still use them, and yet Shimano keep releasing newer series brakes & gears, but the fastest riders aren’t using the latest tech in these areas. Why?
I'm surprised titanium isn't en vogue for DH, it can be made so compliant, I have more titanium inside me than modern DH bikes! I have a Be beryllium from the early 2000's even if the geo is outdated it would make a great material this bike is magic, wonder what happened. Cost or engineering issues?
These new bikes are stuffed with ultra high tech and that's fantastic hopefully they can find a way to keep the cost down so the average person can afford one without selling their first born 😮
The fact that the mondraker riders won't tell you the bike is good tells you all you need to know. Not a fan of mondraker, and if they're saying "to get the bike somewhat comfortable" yeah.... let's hope that doesn't become a production bike, and the welds are so messy!

New presenter unlocked! :) This guy is legit! 😊
I know…second video by him I saw this week and he’s great!
Yes more broccoli hair!
Love his narration, as a “mechanic” he has the value as a face.

Also I'm not shitting on any presenter particularly, I think doddy is one of the best 😘
That to me is a fair comment.
Well said Sir
Cant say it better, 100% agreed
Lay off the caffeine
@@YouFearMe I don't like coffee
Should let Owen do more of these!
Love Owen ! Should become a common presenter
The F1 of cycling !
F1 is cars. Cycling is cycling.
Great presenter - hope he does more with DH
That CNC bike looks epic
The Mondraker bike looks pretty impressive with amount of adjustment it has.😗 Also liking the idea of the steel frame bike. 😉👍
That pole looks fast.
My favourite bikes was the Cotic steel frame, and the rest of the are a very close second.
Mind blown by all these cool bikes! 🤯 Great job by Owen aswell, would love to see more from him! 😁
Actually enjoyed this interview. Actually in depth and doesn’t feel scripted like the other presenters have started to seem
At 12:30. One of the unsung heroes of elite sports passing in the background. Well done!
LOL
On looks the CNC bike; excellent well informed presenter that kept me engaged and wanting to see more like this video as a regular feature.
Love the Blue on Greenlands V10. Go Team Syndicate.
Interesting stuff. Owen doing a great job 👍
Very interesting to see see the steel machine 💚
Edit:- Thinking of building one!
Great job by Owen. Loved the Pole bike- as a QA guy, I loved the billet aluminum frame. Honestly Im thrilled to see metal bikes coming back but wouldn't say no to any of them.
The Mondraker was NUTZ!! But respect to Cotic, running #steelisreal at a Worlds! 😮
Mondraker looks insane. I very interesting how they are more bikes going back to metal construction and adding weight to there bikes.
Owen looks like he could become the cycling world's Nardwuar
Good to see more adjustable geo. That's the main reason I bought a Specialized Stumpjumper Evo. I ride mostly trail but it can handle enduro.

Think 🤔 POLE & Santa Cruz ❤❤

Great interviews. Blenki for the win 😂
Pleated saddles: ribbed for your safety lol
Never seen those before.
pricetag on that Pole must be insane.
Those chainguard fins on the Cotic bike are looking very promising to really quieten this nasty chain slap :)
They are for sale by STFU Bike. Pretty beefy
Just shorten your chain
Already done on all my full suspension bikes. But thanks
Single. Block. Machined. Frame. 😲

Too expensive lol

Steel is real. You went past the steel bike too fast.

That Norco looks really small
Nice to see Norco maintaining the Canadian tradition of 'snap-crackle-pop' aluminum frame design.😑🙄
Maybe you should recruit from within when getting new presenters.
Still better coverage of the race than the UCI live feed. 🤮
Bring back RedBull.

POLE doesn't mean peddle in Finnish, that would be POLJE.
Do it on a hardtail. Now
No Atherton bikes.....Come on people....Ha !!
Doddy did a whole video on how Atherton bikes were made. Not much more to say I reckon
yeah lets just skip the new shock😂
✨👌🏽✨
Again, for anyone who can't read even the most basic texts on materials; MACHINING MAKES ALUMINUM WEAKER. You're welcome....
