Black River & Western Celebrates 50 Years

- For half a century, the Black River & Western Railroad has been hauling tourists with steam and diesel power at Ringoes, New Jersey. To celebrate their 50th anniversary of the opening of the tourist line, their 2-8-0 Consolidation type #60 operated three round trips between Flemington and Ringoes.
The 60 is a 1937 product of the American Locomotive Company (ALCo) of Schenectady, New York, originally for the Great Western Railroad of Colorado. It was the first engine to operate on the newly formed Black River & Western.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy the sights and sounds of Great Western steam in New Jersey.

Maybe a steam tripleheader excursion with 4039, 60 and 142 could be possible someday too!
