I tried my best to go over most of the important key changes, but I left a few minor ones unmentioned because I felt they were going to bloat an already long runtime. Not a JP player but I don’t like how they nerfed JP’s juggles. it would be a functionally similar change by just nerfing his damage, but the way they changed him just made his combos significantly less interesting for no reason.
I feel like nobody is talking about this one Ryu buff, both Broski and Sajam glossed over it but I think it’s pretty huge. Crouching heavy now does 7.5/10 of a bar on block. You can do 2HP drive rush 2HP into light Hashogeki which also got its drive damage buffed for a gapless 2 bars of drive gauge. And you can even do heavy hashogeki if they don’t check it into 2 lights -> light hasho. He can do ken drive damage of heavy punch -> heavy punch -> jinrai BUT BETTER. Fear Ryu this patch
I like the Honda changes tbh. The headbutt/buttslam spam that made low rank players break their controller got nerfed in exchange for new options and combos.

To be honest, as a Luke main myself, I’m happy with a lot of the changes, but the universal changes are probably gonna affect him a whole lot more in the long run. He had the single best reward off of a single perfect parry, and he had some of the best reward off of a drive rush cancel light. (still kinda does to an extent) Most of the nerfs felt more like necessities to me than anything else, the damage especially, and like why was J. Hp disjointed that was so stupid. The buffs are really fun, like the new standing heavy punch buff opens up some meterless microwalk combos, so that’s pretty cool. He’s still bordering on top 5 for me though, possibly top 3, but with the Akuma shenanigans I’ve been seeing getting thrown around, we’ll have to see if any of us Luke bros stick around until season 3.
The parry changes help Blanka in the corner when he’s pounding opponents parrying with his lvl 2 and then suddenly stops whilst the opponent is still tapping parry.
You are not even supposed to tap parry against that sequence anyway… The newly buffed drive reversal is pretty reliable way to counter that sequence. Even if you read wrong, you will only eat 1500 damage at most since Blanka can only punish drive reversal with light attack sequence .
as a juri main i was also disappointed with the change but i think they just did it bc they’re scared to change her normals bc any small change can completely break feng shui
my biggest wish for system mechanics was to widen the window for simultaneous DIs really is annoying to lose bc you're just the slightest bit quicker than your opponent, even though you probably shouldn't be DIing there anyways
I really despide Capcom with his bias towards Juri, you can just smell the money they make alone from her and they let her get away with a slap on the back with some buffs and almost no nerfs, it's pretty disgusting to think about it, the balance of the game depends on how well the character sells.
Bro I swear the input change has made intended specials less likely to come out, my quarter circle motions are inconsistent as hell ever since Wednesday.
I used to rely a lot on HK combos for big damage. Best combos reached 6k, but were difficult and full-cashout. Now it feels you have to cash out to break 4500. Takes more work to get the damage, so I feel the HP buff is justified. It feels great to win with her regardless.
The Guile change to UDK just makes it consistent on air and ground counter hit. Before the air counter hit just gave a normal air reset like getting hit by Cr. HP or St. MK does. As you saw this virtually makes no difference because, as you just demonstrated, UDK is very hard to actually hit an airborne opponent with.
My favourite dirty trick is to do forward HK, and flip into HK and do run LK in the corner. Most people are holding up and get clipped by it 😂, and even if they block okay lol I'm pretty safe on block.
The propaganda is strong on here the fact that A.K.I is not even on the thumbnail speaks for itself (Please I know he made a separate a video just joking ok don't @ me)
1:33:44 it was CR HP PC goes into hellstab-OD lariat-Level 1. 2 bars drive gauge 1 bar super for like 5000+ damage. Also you can’t wheel kick PC-hellstab-od lariat-level 1 because wheel kick leaves them slightly lower.

Were honestly fine, sure our oki was nerfed a bit and our parry isnt as good at drive impact but our important stuff like looping safe jumps are untouched and we already have a speciak move designed to hit your 30% if you di against us so we dont really feel it that much. Importantly we had our damage boosted even higher and most importantly YOU CANT BACKWALK AGAINST US ANYMORE. Which isn't flashy but covers one of marisas biggest weaknesses, somebody tries to shimmy me and they lose half a bar of drive gauge or get charged sweep which let us set up strike throw midscreen which is fucking fantastic
I think character is just more one dimensional now. Now it's even harder leaning into one big damage combo while none of the versatility got buffed. No one used the guard into low or the overhead, but none of those got buffed. Her anti air is still mediocre while AKI got a massive consistency buff.
“The best juri can hope for is no major nerfs” Ik it’s a rough match up for aki, and she did win the million. But Juri’s nowhere near top 5 and has slight disadvantage to outright losing match up with most of the top 5. I don’t think that screams a character that needs major nerfs.

4.4k damage without drive gauge or super gauge they're fine. if you play marisa the only thing you want is big damage
