I really liked your video, thanks for posting it! I play on x-box so I don't get to play out these large scale battles. It was nice seeing something as big as this. I'm also playing an all Battanian troops conquest so it was nice seeing this. I could tell by your horse's armor. What kind of helmet are you wearing? When outnumbered, the ai loves to charge. So I believe it's best to wait them out with your archers in front and then move up your infantry to receive the charge. I usually place my archers under the protection of trees. That has worked for me. Good luck in your next battle!
Didn’t want to reply until I looked at the game save to see the helmet lol - Ridged Helm, T6, 46 head armour and $20,680 I’m glad you liked it! It was such a massive setback for my run! Be careful! I learnt the hard way that it’s not about numbers, if the enemy are the Attackers they will charge you, if they are the Defenders they will wait for you! Good tip though!
@@bim_94 Thanks man! I've been looking for a helmet that offers good protection and that's consistent with the Battanian theme. I've played Sturgian for the most part and I don't like the feathered warlord helms.. too bird-like for my taste. Thanks for replying 🙂

I am kinda new to the game and play battania troops only. The vlandians are hella strong and keeps beating me with their cav. (Never fought any of the empire factions tho) Any suggestions on field battles against the vlandians? My own army consists of 50% of the fians and the other 50% is a mix of falxmen and oathsworn. The vlandian cav just overwhelm my two archer groups while their crossbowmen rain hellfire on my infantary shield wall until their infantary clashes with my own and decimate them. Any suggestions would be much appreciated since you seem to have a good understanding of the game tacts. Also, great channel!
I like using my cavalry to tackle the enemy’s, normally you can distract/eliminate one group and the second group will be the only one that charges your infantry - did infantry 2 men deep and as long as possible and most importantly - NOT moving (standing still) This seems to be the best generic advice for negating cavalry but every battle will be different depending on your horsemen etc! I, personally, would have built one ram and one tower before she showed up. Then attacked the town. The tower would be mainly for distraction, and if you rush and set up the ladder quickly, it would buy some more time for the ram to get to the gate. I highly doubt she would have laid siege if you took the town. Which would have given you an opportunity to bait her. Nice fight, though.
In truth that’s what I normally would have done but in all honesty, with that current army thought I would beat the game. I thought I was set and I have have heaps of Empire Vs Battania battles on both sides so my head was just full of confidence, it’s a real killer 🤣
hold your ground using 2 shield formation infanry & bait their cav to charge into that meat grinder maybe a better strategy & even win that fight with more than half troops lost, but it seems cheesy to me and you dont get to swing that glaive brutally due to instant micro, man those swings are nasty
It honestly took my by surprise I thought it would be a thinker but a win nonetheless. When those cavalry went behind the infantry and for my archers I think I realised I wasn’t prepared. One thing I WISH this game had was a battle key where YOU could play this exact battle and see how differently it’ll be. I’d love to replay it but, alas, Ironman

I don’t have a lot of time in between work and parenting and I’m desperately trying to finish my next world conquest video (Khuzait, no smithing - it’s taking twice as long to complete 😂) so I felt a little bad spending no time on editing or voicing this video, but for experiment sake I thought it would be interesting to see how this would be received 🙂
@malakatan3235 I think I missed the opportune moment to charge the infantry and I my attention was taken away from the cavalry charge against my archers - I didn’t want the infantry charging them instead. But also I remember Strat Gaming doing a tactics test on a recent patch and his synopsis was circle or square formations mess with the AI and you get stomped regardless
That’s the Rhomphalia, found in Battanian towns - it’s tier 6 weapon so it might take a few years to drop in. Every culture has a similar weapon - it’s a swingable polearm, hover over the Polearms in the trader menu and look for one with swing damage /no thrust damage
Oh, you can get these weapons early and for free by marrying certain wives - I know Taorse has this weapon, it should be searchable via the Bannerlord Wiki/reddit - there’s also countless ‘best wives’ guides out there 🤣
@@flyingnaga9786 haha yes you can see me try to swing my one-handed Falx blade from my horse and miss a LOT in this video 🤣 I normally prefer Two-handed weapons as I prefer the Perks

Make square or small circle for formation if you often leave to enjoy the melee
