    Great video. It looks like the one rolling from underneath could possibly go right into a cryangle once you’ve rolled on top.

    Don't forget the electric chair submission! Octopus is also great for back takes which you mentioned but didn't demo. Good stuff, I'm subscribing!

      100%. The electric chair is a good submission from the lockdown. Loads of great options from Octopus

      @@KDGrappling Excellent..looking forward to it. I've been doing it when people turn away in half guard top (reverse half guard??). And go straight for this position.
      Keep em coming Kieran 👍👍👍

      @@michaelcorcoran3942 Works a treat from Half Guard. It’s a great technique to have to avoid pins & win scrambles.

    Good stuff coach. Question for ya if you don’t mind answering, why would go for that over back grip vs going straight to a head and arm control and butterfly sweep? You feel this stronger or just for variation? Cheers

      @KDGrappling  Рік тому

      Hey Jim, Hope you’re keeping well.
      I feel it’s a great grip to help avoid pins. Once you have the grip then you have a lot more options to choose from such as back takes, knee twist, hip bump, butterfly guard etc

    Question. If you have the back exposure from the arm drag already, would it be better to just go for the arm drag? I think Octopus is a really good position but I don't want to take away from other things that might be an upgrade in position.

      If you can bypass Octopus Guard & go straight to the back then that’s always going to be a better option, if you like attacking from the back.
      I wouldn’t use Octopus Guard to replace the positions you already use. I would add it to your game along with the positions you always play.
