I can remember my Mum dancing to this. Sadly she is no longer with us but I can still see her. We played it for her funeral and today she would have been 89. Happy birthday Mum xx
I can still remember Dad , one Saturday, just popping this on , and turning up the volume up 😊 I think it showed just how much he loved mum and how’s happy they were …..both passed now, but I always think it was their song ❤
I lost my rock, on the 12th of October 2020, she died off cancer. It feels like my heart has been ripped out of my chest. This was a favourite of ours..stay safe sweetheart after almost half a century together....heartache is the worst pain of all..till we meet again.....goodnight sweetheart
Bless your heart! I lost the love of my life on Feb 7, 2020. We would’ve been married 50 years in June. I’m still at a loss & don’t know what to do. This is the first time I’ve ever been totally been on my own! All I know is getting to see him again can not come soon enough. I miss Jimmy more everyday! I pray your pain gets better David!
God bless you mate, so sorry for your loss. She'll be be waiting for you buddy, no doubt with that blanket on the ground & arms wide open for you to rock her world once again, love is eternal ❤
My mums fav song. She passed away this year (25/08/2022) and had said for at least 35 years that if I didn’t play this as she was entering church she would come back and haunt me 😂 As I’ve got older I appreciate the song much more and not just because it was mums fav. Billie jo has such warmth and emotion in her voice. What a beautiful song. ❤️
Sorry to hear about your mums passing Joanne…. You, like me, appreciate this song the older we get. Heard it years ago but only now do I truly understand the meaning of it ..

I loved and lost, but I was the one that pulled the pin. She was beautiful, inside and out, but too young. I saw her looking longingly out the window many times, and had to let her live her life. I still miss her 25 years on. I still treasure the times we had. Thank you God for the sweet times you gave me.
This was my aunts party piece, she died suddenly on New Year’s Eve 2019, only 58. I play this everyday since she passed and have grown to love it even though as kids we hated it 😂 what I wouldn’t give to hear her sing this just one more time 😢❤️
Great example of the perfect pairing of a wonderful song and an amazing performer! She really should have had a much bigger career, but I'm thankful for this treasure.
Stimulating Lyrics, passionate singing, great musicianship, especially the steel guitar, and a beautiful Woman singing ! You can't ask more of a real country song than that!

Without a doubt....this one is in my top 10 country songs of all time. Billie Joe Spears was a special talent. I don't think many folks realized just how good she was. Her earlier stuff was just as good long before she broke it wide open with 'Blanket On The Ground' It was a sad day when she passed away. RIP Billie Joe.
This was one of my dad's favourite records I like to think this for my mum and dad when they were courting Romantic I know but they loved each other a good example of a beautiful marriage.
This is the song that I played to my wife as we were walking back down the aisle after we were married in 2007. My dad was born in 1929 and was a man's man who rarely showed his feelings, he was a huge country music fan and loved BJS and this was his favourite song of hers, the tears came when he heard this song, it was the only time I ever saw my dad cry, he died in 2014, I love and miss you so much dad and I will see you when I see you.

Every time ⏲ I hear this song 🎵 it reminds me of my late husband ......we were high-school sweethearts...if God hadn't called him home we be together 54yrs..❤❤❤of my life.....
This was the last song my Parents listened too together, and I played it for Papa when he was in the hospital, a few visits before he passed, He passed a day before my birthday Dec.9/2017, it was so cute the way they'd both sing along to it, This was one of many they loved listening to together. I so wanted to sing this Karaoke style for my folks, but never got the chance, so now I play it out loud and sing along out loud, I can picture my Papa moving to the rhythm...:-) , I remember the Golden rule of NEVER go into mom and dad's room for anything unless you ask first,..I came home from school one day to find THEY were in MY ROOM and took my ABBA & Blondie records and were dancing to them in the Living room...lol....I guess they're exceptions to certain household rules...lol...as a kid I was shocked at my parents LIKING my music...lol...I love you Papa, things were never the same after you left, you were the glue that held things together in most cases, I just go day by day with what you taught me, I still cry at times, I don't think that will change, but I also take comfort in knowing you're Ok, ..I gravitate towards the older country music because it is what I grew up with, and if I was to ever write a country song, I'd want it to have that old country sound & Style :-) R.I.P My daddy, Thank again for all the memories. #dadslegacyoflove
