Absolutely, it's a refreshing shift from common symphonic power metal. To me, Avantasia feels like the lovechild of the joyful tunes of Boston and the classic rock from the Scorpions.
To be nitpicky Avantasia is not really a band, it is more like a music project based on the band Edguy, which was formed by Tobby. Edguy enters a partnership with different singers or artists to produce a whole album. Soo, the band is Edguy, but it's more than just some featuring
