At that point the CPU will be breathing a lot of GPU air, and the GPU will be breathing some of the CPU air. It's largely a zero sum game. Air in, Air out. It's up to the user to decide which parts get the freshest air. I think what might be the best option is if you ran a 240 AIO blowing out, with the side fans blowing in, somewhat isolating that air loop. Then you mount two bottom fans blowing into an RTX 3000 series Founders card that also somewhat isolates its air with the blower portion of the design. A rear fan exhausts the rest. Of course running that many fans you'd want to go with Noctuas or it's going to get quite noisy.

Lowering the front fans speed will facilitate the GPU to get its own fresh air, but at the expense of increasing CPU temps. On the Neo Mini V2, the best compromise I found was a slightly negative pressure setup: - Front fans at low RPM just to help bring in some fresh air for the CPU air cooler. - Good flow rear fan at medium / high rpms

@@ivanbrasla that's true, thought they had a 3 slot in the neo v2. Looks like I was wrong. Just wanted phanteks to take a bigger step in itx to compete with nr200.
I would love a comparison video of this case with the NZXT H200 and other larger ITX cases. While some people think ITX cases have to be super small, I prefer the 20-30L mark. Not so big to be obnoxious and not so small to just be a box on my desk.
That cable management looks pretty interesting. Overall, this case looks very promising. Not looking to do another build any time soon, but I'm liking the vented side panel by the GPU. Sure they have a T.G. option as well, but in this configuration, I could see it being made into a bit of a "sleeper" machine. Sure, you can't "show off" your interior design with the side panel on, but being a smaller case, one could take this to a LAN Party (at some point hopefully), and still impress people. Plus, no need to worry about breaking your glass side panel during transit. The only other possible thing missing would be a handle on the top, aside from that thumb screw that you mentioned. Very nice so far!
I love seeing more ITX cases! If I can ever get my hands on a founder's edition 3080 I plan to move the ITX build I have in my living room over from a Cooler Master Elite 130 to a Silverstone RVZ03. Gotta get a case that'll fit in my new entertainment stand!
Please make this Phanteks and ship it everywhere. The NR200 is great but my ATX power supply is just too long for my even longer 1070 to fit in that case with the 3D printed bracket.
When will case manufacturers realize that if you angle a surface, you can make the case thinner while still supporting 120mm and 140mm case fans, they'll just be less efficient. My dream case is something with an all vertical orientation like the ml08b but with better cooling capability.
I feel like you could do a slim radiator at the front and bottom (since GPU block drops cooler footprint) all as intake and then use one of those EK distro blocks with built in D5 on the other front fan mount. Then run rear for exhaust. Could even cover the PSU with one of those displays for a sensor panel to pretty it up a bit and hide cables. Very excited to see the final version.
you can use a 280 AIO in front and still use the side with slim fans like artic have! just put the 140 fans in front of the case and radiator in back and put the slim´s 120 in side position and it will fit nicely!
ITX with 2 USB-A and a USB-C. Sure its more mATX than ITX but I do value the front port selection for quickly plugging in a keyboard and mouse when in a hurry or the space to plug in a USB and xbox controller with future support for what USB-C will bring. I loved the NZXT H210, and if it had this I would have definitely gone for it, but I chose the Lian Li TU150 as it did have 2 USB-A and 1 USB-C.
I don't think the GPU temp is impacted that much by heat coming from the radiator, it's probably a matter of pressure setup and fan positioning. The GPU appears to be too low for the front and side fans so they don't cool it directly. With a positive pressure setup, the GPU struggles to draw fresh air from the bottom. Some warm air may even circulate under it for a while since there is no direct airflow from a fan. This problem disappears with a negative pressure setup, but of course that causes the radiator to use warmer air from inside. I'm not sure what to think of this case right now, you're supposed to buy it for its performance (not for its footprint for sure) but it's not as great as it should be.
I think there SHOULD be some expectation for compromises. Case makers need to move away from supporting atx power supplys for itx cases, that would help with decreasing footprint. Love that itx cases are getting more attention last year and this year looks like its going to get more attention. I do hope they do get smaller tho.
165mm cooler height is excellent! I'm going to convert my P300a with NHd15 build over to this so I can have dual 140mm fans at the bottom firing up at my gpu.
I prefer either the true SFF mITX myself, but still good to see more and more mainstream companies supporting the form factor. Still think at this size I'd rather do the O11 dynamic mini and have full atx support with sff psu.
the Cooler Master nr200 is smaller then this case and can fit a 280mm AIO, its also actually released and potentially cheaper, also the stock thermals are among the best for ITX
AIO should be exhausting air via the side mount and the front intake fans... should be front intake fans. It will also need that back mounted 120mm exhaust fan to pull enough air towards/ over the motherboard. If you want less fans you will need to go air cooling. Too much venting on the sides makes a bad air tunnel.
That's just a reskin of one of their daughter companies PC's (MetallicGear Neo Mini). It's sitting right next to my monitor! All the cutouts are the same, with the only differences being 3 slot gpu compatibility and an SFX PSU bracket
seems like for the sake of water cooling, it would be very beneficial if they'd just increase the length slightly to enable you to mount another rad as intake from the right side panel. Then you could very comfortably have a CPU/GPU on the same loop with pretty uncompromising performance. This layout reminds me a lot of the O11 mini, but seemingly with less compatibility (though it is admittedly smaller, 30L vs. 38L).
Looks like metalicgear's neo mini v2 case which has been out for almost 2 years year. (Which is a Daughter brand of phanteks). This has triple slot support however. This one is 29L but the neo mini v2 is ~25L. The glass on the neo looks better IMHO.
More than anything I want a P300A. Like for the average gamer mATX is a perfect standard that doesn't get enough care. It's no more expensive than ATX boards (unlike ITX) and has decent room to work around when building.
I am a sucker for ITX cases. This looks nice EDIT: typed initial comment before watching the video, at 29.9L I do not consider this an ITX case lol. I'd still take the Cougar QBX over this. And here I was hoping we'll get a proper competition for the NR200
I really appreciate the full ATX psu inclusion, for me that's what's stopping me from moving to an ITX. $500 for mobo and quality sfx psu, then the case cost...I think i'd rather just spend money on a new gpu waitlist. Downside is that it's huge. I'd love to see a CM NR300 but that can do a 240mm rad on top + atx psu. it'd have to be just a smidge taller and longer, but not by much.
Great case. I'm fan especially of those big ITX cases. But that PSU at the top, put it in the bottom. It's just more aesthetic and we get better airflow and also top mounted radiators are more popular than bottom mounted. It may not be possible to mount one the bottom but people tend to experiment with ITX cases more than with others.
ITX is da future :) NR200 is amazing and now we get another great choice for more compact enclosures. I hope we get even more of those cases on the market :D
ngl this case isn't even small, my 50 dollar cooler master q300 is a tiny bit bigger with support to matx and atx psus.(even atx mobos with q500) Itx means spending at least 50 USD more than a normal build for the psu and mobo. In China there is a budget case that is 20liters and supports 33mm gpus and atx psu and matx mobos. I wish companies could make affordable cases like that. A case that supports matx mobo and atx psu while being about the size of nr200 so you don't have to pay itx tax
Well keep dreaming because mini pc's still have a long way to go for them to get popular. It sucks because mini pc's are more breathtaking than any giant atx pc I've seen.
Wish a case manufacturer would just get rid of the handle in the tu150, have room for two front fans with dust filters. I’m fine with a proper 20-23L no compromises case. Maybe a bigger NR200 that allows for 165mm height air coolers (please test on slightly bigger itx boards like Gigsbytes).
It needs a side panel that is half glass and half fine mesh so you can have the TG for the mobo area and the air intake for the GPU whether its horizontal or vertical

Phanteks please a white version of this would be fantastic!
looks like they just re-released the Metallic gear Neo Mini V2 as a phanteks case... with no major improvements?
They just made it uglier. That’s all. Good point.
Was about to say the same thing, just a rip off
Mesh front and triple-slot for GPU are not minor improvements lol
@@ivanbrasla that's true, thought they had a 3 slot in the neo v2. Looks like I was wrong. Just wanted phanteks to take a bigger step in itx to compete with nr200.
@@wayneqaz12345 Still no NR200 competitors from the big manufacturers, sadly
Very nice so far!
even Demitry forgets to install the io shield
Itss about time ITX started moving this direction. I'd be tempted to do a built in it if parts were available
A D15 flowing back-to-front with both side and front exhaust seems like it would work really well.
Ahh the joys of things we wont see for months perhaps. Some from last year still aren't at retail.
thank you for the video though.
I'm loving this case fam. I can't wait to see what they do with the final product. Great review
the case looks and sounds great, but at 30 liters, that is just massive compared to most other itx cases
I have a p300 and I love it! Definitely will get this for my next build!! 😍
you can use a 280 AIO in front and still use the side with slim fans like artic have! just put the 140 fans in front of the case and radiator in back and put the slim´s 120 in side position and it will fit nicely!
ITX with 2 USB-A and a USB-C. Sure its more mATX than ITX but I do value the front port selection for quickly plugging in a keyboard and mouse when in a hurry or the space to plug in a USB and xbox controller with future support for what USB-C will bring.
I loved the NZXT H210, and if it had this I would have definitely gone for it, but I chose the Lian Li TU150 as it did have 2 USB-A and 1 USB-C.
this might be my first itx case
I'd love to see a portable itx case from phanteks, that would be awesome
You’re case reviews are the best
Love it, love it, love it! ITX is my favorite form factor! Keep them coming! 😍
This case is really well designed damn didn't expect this !
30L is too large territory. Sliger S620 is 16L, S610 is 13.3, NCASE is 12.7 etc. Generally 15-ish liters is the most I would consider ITX.
Kicking off 2021 with itx I'm here for it. But sadly I'm not here for top mounted PSUs in 2021 :(
I don't think the GPU temp is impacted that much by heat coming from the radiator, it's probably a matter of pressure setup and fan positioning.
Yes, more parts for SFF build. Hopefully this will make the price can be more affordable.
The good people come early
damn. phanteks looking good as usual
Would love to see this case with an all black custom looped stealth build.
Really good to see an ITX that we can put in a 240 AIO
the Cooler Master nr200 is smaller then this case and can fit a 280mm AIO, its also actually released and potentially cheaper, also the stock thermals are among the best for ITX
Whatever happened to this case? I really wanted to pick one up! HC, any word from Phanteks?
Great! more content for Optimum Tech. Thanks Starlord!
Good to have another option out there but I want to see some more unique SFF cases.
Been a long time since I’ve seen a top mounted power supply!
You need to test this case also with big air cooler, then use front panel as intake. It should have the best temp for GPU and CPU
Hey Dimitry, any word on when this is actually coming to market?
They should have made the motherboard frame a tiny bit bigger and it would have been able to fit an mATX. Now that is the dream.
More than anything I want a P300A. Like for the average gamer mATX is a perfect standard that doesn't get enough care. It's no more expensive than ATX boards (unlike ITX) and has decent room to work around when building.
I am a sucker for ITX cases. This looks nice
EDIT: typed initial comment before watching the video, at 29.9L I do not consider this an ITX case lol. I'd still take the Cougar QBX over this. And here I was hoping we'll get a proper competition for the NR200
Love that peel sound :D
ITX is da future :)
NR200 is amazing and now we get another great choice for more compact enclosures. I hope we get even more of those cases on the market :D
It's great thst ITX it's getting some love from case manufacturers, even though the NR200 it's just perfect for me.
Dued you guys have bad ass camera motion! Not sure how that is done, but it looks amazing!!!
itx case with atx mobo support? sweet! what I'll be looking at for when I build my pc
ngl this case isn't even small, my 50 dollar cooler master q300 is a tiny bit bigger with support to matx and atx psus.(even atx mobos with q500) Itx means spending at least 50 USD more than a normal build for the psu and mobo.
My full ATX Raijintek Thetis classic is 25L. Beat this :)
At 2:18 in the bottom left corner you can see that fan on the cup is actually creating draft moving the plant
It needs a side panel that is half glass and half fine mesh so you can have the TG for the mobo area and the air intake for the GPU whether its horizontal or vertical
Can't u put some fans at the bottom, directly under the gpu? I think with that, the case would be perfect.
love this, and I will buy it when it comes out. currently have an h210i and a 280 rad, and the gpu seems to be compromised as I would only be able to put a 3070 in there. love how it also supports atx power supplies, which is what i have as well. ty HC!
wow, nice phanteks
Last year we went back to mesh fronts, 2021 we are going back to mid 2000s internal design
I like everything-.... just make this EXACTLY big enough for atx
