Dope conversation about keeping family and friends out your problems, I agreed once you get married it’s your own family first and creating your own trend..
Guess what?? More date nights, more family dinner nights, etc. Im so excited for yall. My mom lives one hour away, my dad lives in same town, my husbands dad live 15 mins away, husbands mom is 6 hours away. Family being so close is so fun. I used to be a nanny. That was an amazing experience. Im proud of yall. Date nights are soooo important. Totally agree on God, Spouse then kiddos.
Josh and savannah I know exactly where y’all are coming from with your parents telling them everything. Josh you remind me so much of my husband and Sav you remind me of myself. You need to talk to your spouse. I had to figure that out because I used to run to my parents and now I don’t do that. Thank you for this podcast. I enjoy listening to y’all and watching your shorts and safe travels to move to OREGON.
I knew it was Oregon! 100 percent. I live in Washington state. It’s been hot and Smokey the last 3 months. Literally the PNW is on fire. I’m just glad you didn’t move to somewhere like Utah 😂😂😂😂
I’m so excited for you guys! It is so nice to be around family even if it’s just for dinner every once in a while! Can’t wait to see the vlogs come back in a new state! Enjoy the journey y’all!❤️
I can really relate to this podcast. Although you both mentioned it briefly, I have a thorn in my side for speaking to my spouse’s family members regarding our marriage or disagreements. I am 39 weeks pregnant and now we have had to cut ties with his family due to showing up unannounced, calling our church for information and constantly harassing us via text. It’s sad but I know it’s for the best even though we are about to have baby #3.
Maybe your husband can be the one to bring up those tough conversations to his family instead? As long as it isn't a problem between your husband and you. I know it is tough, I feel you.
Sometimes NC is the best for the time being. I am in complete NC with my partner's family. My ex husband's family is also NC with him and my kids too. Which is fine. Old generational México are not accepting of white women marrying into the family, and I am not the first to go NC with them either.
I could relate to being on our own and moving back home. My husband and I had a HARD time when we moved back to our home town. Our families were pulling at us from different directions. They had their lives that they were living and kind of expected us to continue on their journey. All is well now but it was definitely an adjustment. Still is in some ways since they’re also being introduced to our family dynamic. It’s a learning experience on both ends
Just moved away from family with my husband and son. So being on the opposite end, boundaries are sooo necessary. It goes so deep depending on different family personalities. Completely understand where you two stand with enjoying your alone time as a family. I’ve learned the hard way how important that truly is ❤️ best wishes to you all!
I think that for alot of ppl the reason behind wanting to set dwn roots in one place is usually bcuz of the kids. Once they get school age they dont want to uproot them every so often by moving , but alot of parents are opting to homeschool bcuz of the freedom it gives and they have more control over what their children are exposed to. I think yall have a beautiful family and im excited to see how things go when yall move to Oregon. It will be really nice to be close to family and i think your girls will love it too especially as they get older. I pray that yall have a safe trip in Jesus name Amen ..Sending love and blessings from Louisiana
I’m from Oregon! I’m not a huge city fan but my favorite parts of Oregon are the Columbia gorge and the coast! So many beautiful places to explore. Welcome!
The Oregon Coast is so beautiful not sure if you have visted it. Crater Lake is in Oregon so beautiful. Oregon is definitely liberal , so wacth out for the drugs and homeless people down town. It is beautiful my grandma lives there I have good memories. Youll like the farmers markets thats they have and saturday markets. I grew up in Washington State now I live in Oklahoma definitely miss the scenery.
Congratulations on your move guys!! I've been wanting to visit Oregon for a long time! Hopefully in the near future I will be able to! I love your family and l love watching your videos!!
My husband and I have been together since we were 15, have had 4 kids and now married going on 27 years. LONG time ago we decided our marriage came first to the point that our kids knew every Friday it was date night. Now we have an amazing marriage and still are BFFs. We have many friends that have unfortunately divorced because as their kids become more independent the couples don’t know each other without the kids involved. Schedule those dates and keep them regular, you won’t regret it.
This was such a great video! I’m with Sav and I’m definitely a snack person too. But also, deciphering the family dynamic with your own family can be challenging for some but yeah boundaries are important. While your children are young and growing up that’s the main reason people stay close to their family. So I agree with what Josh’s said and it is very common to stay close, live close to your family.
I hope your next guest is Josh’s dad❤❤❤❤ I’d love to hear him. The other thing that came in mind, is I think you guys should do more Bible content ❤❤❤❤
28:11 I am the same.. I love my routine and would rather be home and enjoy my day knowing everything is getting done. Plus I feel like having a toddler and leaving the house is not enjoyable sometimes. I like to be able to do activities and feed her when she's hungry. Going out just messes with the routine!
It’s so funny because my dads side of the fam is from Michigan and my moms side is from oregon! So I love how you guys talk about each state, I always thought I might run into you guys in MI but maybe it’ll be next time I’m in OR 😂
I live in Oregon… I used to absolutely love being here.. but the state has gotten terrible with crime and it is so terribly sad. If I had the opportunity to move out of here I would, 100%
Honestly surprised you guys moved to the Portland area given everything that’s gone on there within recent years BUT I 100% support moving for the family structure!! That’s the dream!!
My entire extended family lived in Oregon my whole life and I’ve been at least 100x it’s by far the most beautiful state I’ve ever been to if you get out the city. The lakes, mountains, small towns are so cute and it’s just gorgeous nature wise! You may be drastically adding to the diversity meter there tho. Lmao it’s very much so a white folks area. Lol but I have mixed kids who’s half black and never experienced any issues. Also, I currently live and have always lived in Michigan near yall.
One I love your podcast because the way you guys talk to each other it seems like we're not there but it is great conversation. It's great to listen to. Plus I can relate so much because I feel like I was in Savannah shoes where I was going to my parents a lot and I always ask my dad's opinion instead of my husbands so this has really opened my eyes and made me really see how it is supposed to be
I know you guys might not see this but I also live in Oregon and it is such an underrated state has amazing music food and people are always so nice. I’m sure that you guys will have tons of adventures and fun in Oregon. It’s so beautiful. What part are you in? If you are in Portland, you have to go to pips donuts and you need to go to the coast. It’s beautiful in Manzanita or Newport. There’s also some beautiful hikes and lakes where you can go see the reflection and views of Mount Hood. Just enjoy it Oregon is beautiful! love you guys ❤️
You two are amazing to be such a young couple! I really enjoy watching you! Best of everything to you. This was a great podcast! Especially about family and where your priorities are. That’s amazing!! 👍🏽😍🙏🏽
You guys don't owe us any explanation for moving again but I'm so glad you did! It makes so much sense now 😅💗 Excited for this new season of your lives & you guys to experience Oregon together as a family! God bless y'all.
It is normal for ppl to marry someone in their own town and both sides are all together. I don’t have that unfortunately. When you don’t..you realize how much of a privilege it is; especially when you have kids. Ppl ask if I will ever move closer to my family and I would love to but idk if they would respect our boundaries and my whole marriage dynamic would change. But deep down I desire it so much.
I made the mistake of running and telling our business to family for years. Now we've been together 11 years and some family members look at my husband sideways. He's a good man and a good father, it was just airing dirty laundry unnecessarily.
it literally feels like y'all just got to Michigan last month i swear , i hope y'all gonna be as happy where you going...can't wait for lil Starlie and Ri going to olay parks together
The funny thing about watching y’all is that I relate to y’all sooo much it’s funny. My husband is also Josh, we got married young also. Savannah and I had our first babies a couple of weeks apart. And we are also finally moving back to where both sets of grandparents are back home (after not living there for over 6 years). It’s so fun to hear yalls perspective as I’m going through the same transitions 😂❤
It’s funny you guys moved close to family and my husband, kids, and I just moved 7.5 hours away from our family and support system. I love our family but im excited to do our own thing for Christmas. We always popped up at each others house and we loved it. We have a close family though.
When I think of Oregon I think of the desert because growing up in elementary school we played The Oregon Trail in computer lab. 😂IYKYK. I had no idea there was a beach lifestyle over there.
I literally never knew, heard or was told to honor your partner. I learn over the past year after 6 years of marriage 😬😵💫😯 Keeping issues between you two, not speaking ill of your partner to others…and so on. Podcasts/YT channels like yours is needed to help educate people like me who are learning this late in life. Which now it’s so obvious, so while I feel a bit dumb I’m also grateful for figuring it out on my own.
Josh, I agree with you on the God, Spouse, kids thing. Don’t fact check me on this but I remember reading something in the Bible about how your priorities are supposed to be, God, spouse, kids.
