Brian's gonna shred at its current power level and progress as a driver. This thing is gonna feel like a complete animal compared to his last setup. Sure sounded healthy too

450 wheel out of an ls2 is actually really impressive. Ls3s are a lot better for NA stuff atleast in terms of making power but for no headers 450 is good
On a mild cam, good headers, intake and exhaust my old man's 6.0 did 440rwhp. Brian's doing that with restrictions, he's got a good setup just needs to find that right manifold combo for the chassis
we have a guy in montreal who makes incredible exhausts for LS e46's. makes the car sound like it has a nascar race motor. if brian ever wants to make the switch I can get you guys in contact!
@HeroinSmuggler901 yeah but the difference is all those clapped out fucking squatted trucks have like 250k on the clock and yeah they're clapped out low compression exhaust sounds like shit Loose as hell well broken in this is a brand new engine it should sound a lot better than that it's probably just from the shitty exhaust manifolds
Yeah I agree it definitely needs a full exhaust with a back box/muffler, even a mid box/silencer it's waaay too loud and unrefined, not surprised they couldn't work out if it was running like sh*t! 😩

Hey Brian, Have you looked into the Hooker cast LS swap headers? They're made for situations just like this. They flow really well but take up only about as much space as a factory cast manifold.
If Brian wants to go save some money and make more power try the truck intake yes, it's ugly but they have shown time an time again to flow just that little bit more air
SICK! I'm in the process of getting my LS swapped E46 back together also. I did the rear subframe stuff and made my own explorer 8.8 setup, axles, driveshaft and everything! Found a 3.73 with locker at the scrap yard, it's going to be so much better than that welded pos I was running!
That's what they've been saying the whole time and even why they dug into the motor because they thought it was fucked up it sounds clapped out as fuck the sound the exhaust makes is just trash but it makes sense stop cast headers into shitty whatever straight pipe

It's no wonder Jimmy's constantly picking his brain - he is a master of his craft. I'd be very happy to hear him talk shop on this channel or on his own channel. Tell Derek to listen to an ls4 with longtube headers which have to be unequal length because it’s transversely mounted, sounds exactly the same as this car. That’s the only way I’ve heard an LS sound like this.
Have to go with genuine LS7 lifters, won't have issues. & get rid of those rockers, put factory arms with trunion upgrades. Awesome videos man, love to see the learning as you go.

Speed engineering sells some good headers for the price. I got my 6.2 ls3 long tube from them, using OEM gaskets and never had a problem. Ended up taking them off cause my state requires smog but wanna put them back on again eventually.

These are very decent numbers given the set up. As Derek said, headers, an LSX102 intake, and a few things and she will make every bit of 480whp. Plenty of LS2 Corvettes and GTO's out there making close to 500whp on an NA max effort LS2.

Might need to switch over to some Johnson lifters if these keep giving you problems, cleetus uses them on all his ls motors! So there top of the line
