This is awesome to watch. This type of content is more interesting than all the videos talking about how great the new Ferrari or Lamborghini is. There is always a lot to learn when restoring old cars and learning the past of the cars.
Very exciting, please dont worry about the production quality (didnt even notice until you mentioned it at the end). The most important thing is being kept upto date with the journey. Really looking forward to seeing it play out 👍
Good to see you giving Yorkshire Car Restoration some publicity which is more than Matt Armstrong has done despite him getting a free restoration on his E24.
„Sie lebt !“ 👏. I have to say this is the nicest project I have seen on your channel. Hope to see this thing back on the streets. And hopefully not totally changed from what’s it is. It is a classic and a special one, too. Would be nice to keep it that way.
Love this project with the true craftsmen genius of Yorkshire Car Restorations. The simplicity of these classic cars make them easier to understand in what is back to basics motoring enjoyment
Tim, with your passion for car and their history.. No doubt you will bring it back to it's full glory, and but it in the Shmee museum on full display for everyone to see.
The amount of Love being poured into this car is amazing! Imagine if a car had a soul or spirit, it is now overjoyed to have found a home with you two (Tim and Puppi). 😊😊❤❤❤
Enjoying this already. My .02 is that the original side indicators are a story piece. No, you dont need to keep them, but that car's made quite a journey to end up where it is now and little quirks are fun to talk about with cars like this one.
Thank you for doing older cars! Honestly its more fun than the new toys!!! Working on my old E30 with my old man is the best. All old cars are just better.
I’m pleased you are getting personally involved in the restoration. I’m sure the guys at YCR appreciate this direct support …and besides the videos are really interesting on this project. I can wait to see the progress ….would be nice to understand your plans for the car … A back to original restoration?
I just finished 2 years of restoration, conversion to electric drive and import from USA to Spain on my '73 914. I do not envy the pain you guys are in for!
I really like these restoration projects. Subscribed on YCR to watch how things progress and, of course, keeping an eye on this channel to see what plans you have for the little Porsche. Looking forward to it all.
Hey Schmee, quick note for you. You may have tons of options in England but Restoration Design in Ontario Canada fabricates all of the panels you will need for the 914. Their quality is fantastic and will likely be a lot less expensive than trying to fabricate individual parts. Love the video.
That smile after starting the engine was priceless. I have watched you collecting several Supercar and you have not shared that Shmile, that's what I will call it - Shmile
Wow, what an absolutely fantastic video! That Porsche has a lot of traveling miles on it, North America, Canada, and now setting there with you getting a complete and well-deserved makeover. Love the Blue color of the car! Really surprised when it turned over just as you were! Again, thank you for making such great videos that I can share and enjoy with my family! Good luck from Williamsburg Va! 👍
I really like this twist on your channel and hope your interest in classics will grow from now on and we´ll se this 914 and then, I hope, some more, getting back to life on your channel. Keep up the good work.
loving this new journey with your videos Shmee, could we maybe see a Mk1 Ford Escort RS2000 rebuild in the future? would make an excellent addition to your Ford collection
Very exciting project. I just sold my 1973 2.0 Alaska Blue 914 using Collecting Cars auction site. Thankfully stayed in the US to a good Porsche collector /owner in Georgia!
I love this little car! I keep thinking some EFI might do wonders for this car. Just wonder if it being related to the beetle engine if it has the same issues with a hot no.2 cylinder that plagued those beetle engines. Cant wait to see this play out!
I must admit I’m truly interested in this project! I love the channel no matter what but this is so cool, such a lateral shift of your normal content! Go Shmee!!
After watching Harry’s Garage I think I’m less shocked at how far a car can go but still be brought back to life and how people with the right skill will get it back spot on. Guy in the next street to us has one and think it needs a lot of work. Just new Oil going round that engine will do it a world of good. 👍
I was watching these two gentlemen showing the other several cars they've been working on and now the initial touches on the Porsche. They seem to have ENCYCLOPEDIC knowledge about cars.
When u say, "It's got quite a bit of luggage space," all I can think of is how my 2003 Mustang has so much more space 😂. The super car life is just different.
In 1975, I purchased a 1970 914-4. Such a fun car but the rust eventually led to its death as a rear spring broke through the rusty frame mount. At the time I was living in FL but the car had been in Maryland where salty winter roads presented issues on cars in general. This vid makes me wonder if these cars are especially susceptible to rust problems.
You should get that car to a Porsche restoration specialist. Your guys will do the job but they’re gonna be learning and making mistakes at your expense
WOW! Hi Tim, Im a new subscriber mainly due to your Aston content as I’m waiting for my first Aston (DB9) in a couple of weeks but oh my, I’m soooo invested in the 914 strip down & rebuild that I’m hooked! Must say I’ve been watching your other content and I like it! Cheers!👍👏👏👏❤️
Great project right there and how crazy it was to find the story of it like that. And talking about history, I would keep the side lights to preserve it's history as a car made for the canadian market
Tim, there's a resto-mod that Chip Foose did on an E-Type. The paint job was beautiful. If you haven't decided on a colour, I think that'd look beautiful on your car.
Nearly bought the very same car in December last year! Sort of feel like I dodged a bullet now. I have 26 vehicles - almost none of which are worth what they cost to restore. Its all good fun though. Good luck with the project Shmee!
I've been down this road a few times. Rust loves these cars and finding one that hasn't had the ass rusted out of it is getting harder to find every year.
Cool that you are seeing a car start from scratch instead of just having one delivered to you for once. I watch other car UA-camrs who get barn/field finds and go through the whole process of starting up the cars and working on the engines. I can see that's gonna be a nice one. And for God's sake, don't use any Bondo on that car (where the seats are)! Once all finished, you'll probably love this car more than any other.

Hell yeah Tim ! ❤
This is awesome to watch. This type of content is more interesting than all the videos talking about how great the new Ferrari or Lamborghini is. There is always a lot to learn when restoring old cars and learning the past of the cars.
Fantastic and so satisfying to get the engine running :D
It sure was! Let's hope there are no other gremlins hiding...
The plaid seats are so retro and cool but I am glad you are not letting the scary surprises of the 914/4 get you down
We all know the story of this car is going to end up in Vin Wiki at some point. Love these kind of videos!
Haha I was just thinking the same
Very exciting, please dont worry about the production quality (didnt even notice until you mentioned it at the end). The most important thing is being kept upto date with the journey. Really looking forward to seeing it play out 👍
Good to see you giving Yorkshire Car Restoration some publicity which is more than Matt Armstrong has done despite him getting a free restoration on his E24.
Agreed. Really disappointed with Matt for not doing anything for the YCR guys .
Free?
I love the Porsche 914/4. I used to have a 76' 914/4. It looks like its in good hands. This is a beautiful color. Thank you.
„Sie lebt !“ 👏. I have to say this is the nicest project I have seen on your channel. Hope to see this thing back on the streets. And hopefully not totally changed from what’s it is. It is a classic and a special one, too. Would be nice to keep it that way.

Tim, with your passion for car and their history.. No doubt you will bring it back to it's full glory, and but it in the Shmee museum on full display for everyone to see.
I know it's risky for a car of that age, but once it's fully restored, it'll be nice to see that car back here in British Columbia, Canada!
I got one I'm in Alberta!
so glad to see you doing a restoration project , they are so interesting to watch , cant wait to see it completed
9:11 I see a Nissan Pulsar GTI-R. Those things are really cool.
The Matt Armstong approach is probably more interesting than buying a new Ferrari every 5 minutes
Just different content - enjoy having both
Then go watch Matt Armstrong and Hoovie's garage. Clearly this isn't your type of content, so move on or don't complain.
@rustler08 actually , it's the reverse. This is not your type of content.
Take it easy.
The amount of Love being poured into this car is amazing! Imagine if a car had a soul or spirit, it is now overjoyed to have found a home with you two (Tim and Puppi). 😊😊❤❤❤
Shmee might be hooked, 2nd old car project!....I mean, anyone can drive a new car. But it takes a special person to fix up and drive an old one.
Enjoying this already. My .02 is that the original side indicators are a story piece. No, you dont need to keep them, but that car's made quite a journey to end up where it is now and little quirks are fun to talk about with cars like this one.
Is amazing to see that you give these guys all the exposure!!
This is a great series as ever I love your content and you brighten my day I like the fact puppi 150 is involved
This change of gears is so refreshing for this channel, supercool. And ❤ that 914
Looking forward to following this project. Great to see something different to more common Porsche
Thank you for doing older cars! Honestly its more fun than the new toys!!! Working on my old E30 with my old man is the best. All old cars are just better.

I so can't wait to watch the progress on this project...Great little car..👍

Very happy and excited for you Tim. This is what I was hoping for you.
This is a great project, looking forward to the updates.
Early crew! Been watching since the beginnings with the S5, lovely content as always Tim!
This is such a cool project. Been watching it for some weeks now. Great Smee !
Loving this series already! Looking forward to what’s coming up next.
GR Eggs... I laughed out loud. Not even going to lie. I always emmediately think that now when I see a Greggs too 😂
The car has now found an owner who will ensure that it's returned in pristine condition...!
BEST feeling as a car lover is moments like that
Toby Lee is one of the finest blues guitarists around! Love his channel!
These guys freaking a joy to watch!! good luck!!!

Keep the wheels as they are Fuch alloy rims that came on a 1973 2.0 litre, very rare and hard to find now. Did you notice how lightweight they are.
That smile after starting the engine was priceless. I have watched you collecting several Supercar and you have not shared that Shmile, that's what I will call it - Shmile
Such a cool car, can’t wait to see the new colour 🤔
How do you stay so consistently positive and spirited? It’s always good to watch one of your videos after a long hard stressful day at work!
Really enjoy seeing wild Shmoo the Cow's out and about!
That's a lot of money no? Tim's good for it anyway😂
YCR are rebuilding one of those!
The Black one is by far the best. Great taste
Very exciting project. I just sold my 1973 2.0 Alaska Blue 914 using Collecting Cars auction site. Thankfully stayed in the US to a good Porsche collector /owner in Georgia!
North of Bowling Green Kentucky and all the way through Canada. Where body panels and frames go to die
I love this little car! I keep thinking some EFI might do wonders for this car. Just wonder if it being related to the beetle engine if it has the same issues with a hot no.2 cylinder that plagued those beetle engines. Cant wait to see this play out!

The restoration company have smashed it by connecting with some high profile you tubers. Their work is amazing
She runs! That just saved you a fortune! As for the interior may i suggest shmoo seat covers.
Boy that lil Porsche couldn't have landed in better hands!! Can't wait to see this lil guy finished and what your plans are. Good luck!!
Love your videos Tim!😍 G'day from downunder Australia! 🇦🇺
I’ve done a few bits with these guys really top lads still wanting to get a few more bits done in near future
fantastic episode! I am excited to see the journey of restoration.
As someone who like really being involved in building cars from the shell up this kind of project is ideal for you Tim.
Good to see your putting this resto on your channel unlike other UA-camrs 👍
What a lovely car this is!
I feel like, "Patches" needs to meet your Dark Horse eventually and perhaps take it to Toby?
Tim needs to win the BOTB...the top prize!
Great video, and a complete change from the usual supercars....! Perhaps this may lead to more classic projects...!
Wow tim the story on it is crazy. Them getting it to start is amazing and definitely save you some cash
When u say, "It's got quite a bit of luggage space," all I can think of is how my 2003 Mustang has so much more space 😂. The super car life is just different.
You should put the Canadian Quarter on top of the shifter
In 1975, I purchased a 1970 914-4. Such a fun car but the rust eventually led to its death as a rear spring broke through the rusty frame mount. Battery overcharged ate paint then rusted if driven in tge winter and not regularly washed will collect salt
A Wiesmann GT MF5 in yellow would be a cool addition to the collection in my opinion, what do you think?
Nice style!
You should get that car to a Porsche restoration specialist. Your guys will do the job but they’re gonna be learning and making mistakes at your expense
I love the history around classic cars.. I’m more interested in this car than any other in the entire Schmee museum 😂😂
WOW! Hi Tim,
Im a new subscriber mainly due to your Aston content as I’m waiting for my first Aston (DB9) in a couple of weeks but oh my,
I’m soooo invested in the 914 strip down & rebuild that I’m hooked!
Must say I’ve been watching your other content and I like it!
Cheers!👍👏👏👏❤️
Love those cars, excited to see how this comes out. Can you do another one with a British car, like a old Jaguar from the 60s.
Great project right there and how crazy it was to find the story of it like that. And talking about history, I would keep the side lights to preserve it's history as a car made for the canadian market
It's cool to see Tim getting hands on with the Porsche, well done sir 😀
Always thought the 914 was such a pretty car, yours couldn't be in better hands, looking forward to watching the progress on the YCR channel.
Yorkshire Car Resto are amazing, this is a cool colab and man, that engine sound.
Tim, there's a resto-mod that Chip Foose did on an E-Type. The paint job was beautiful. If you haven't decided on a colour, I think that'd look beautiful on your car.
After owning many 914s I have a saying that the rust is installed at Karmann. 😊
Fun! Project!!!! Will be nice to see it complete 😀
Yay the 914 started. Can't wait to see the final spec🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Brilliant series👌🏻..once restored you should take it back to Canada on a road trip to celebrate😁
It doesn't really count running in the ICE motor if you're driving in EV mode, yeah?
That’s a big weight off as the engine runs.
Going to be a cool project.
Thank you 😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍
Nearly bought the very same car in December last year! Sort of feel like I dodged a bullet now. I have 26 vehicles - almost none of which are worth what they cost to restore. Its all good fun though. Good luck with the project Shmee!
Small world. Toby Lee. As someone has already mentioned, one of the UK’s great guitarists and still a teenager! Tickets booked for May
296 oddly seems like a better option than the SF90 for many reasons. Do you prefer one over the other?
Hi is great to see you getting hands on,and find the car history Weldon looking for more news to follow on
I've been down this road a few times. Rust loves these cars and finding one that hasn't had the ass rusted out of it is getting harder to find every year.
It is great to see and hear that the engine is running
This is the content that is far more interesting than the untouchable hypercars.
Gotta love some GR Eggs hahaha
That made me laugh too. 😆
Drill the big Canadian coin and have it on the key ring. Plus, deffo get rid of the North American marker lights on the flanks. They are gopping.
The expert says "it sounds brilliant."Congratulations, that car is going to be so much fun.
Tim is going to get into bringing old cars back to life
Cool that you are seeing a car start from scratch instead of just having one delivered to you for once. I watch other car UA-camrs who get barn/field finds and go through the whole process of starting up the cars and working on the engines. I can see that's gonna be a nice one. And for God's sake, don't use any Bondo on that car (where the seats are)! Once all finished, you'll probably love this car more than any other.
Congratulations, Tim! You are the proud owner of a genuine hooptie. 😀👍
True!
Tim , that's the difference between a proper mechanic and a fitter you find at most modern dealerships
The 296 most have an exhaust, and most be from quick silver and shmee150 logo printed on it 👌
It sounds just perfect stock
Used to live in British Columbia....thats cool to know! Essentially I was staying like 10 mins from DDE
