Reminds me of their promos from the old Memphis studio days, mutual respect slowly building to resentment.
Lawler Dundee lance Russell dave Brown promos always felt so organic like what we were seeing was real. This promo was no different. Mt Rushmore level talent right here

A Memphis Wrestling style promo. Memphis is where a lot of guys and girls learned how to cut promos from scratch
No swearing. No yelling. Yet still built heat for a match in 5 minutes when wrestlers today can't get heat if they walked through a fire.

I love the commercial at the end. Who would have thought some voice actor would out do Ric Flair and Jerry Lawler in a promo with just a few words, let alone a question. "Did somebody say tow!?"

Ric was in the studio at Channel 5 talking crap about memphis and how Lawler (the southern Heavyweight champion) wasn’t shuit compared to flair. So Lawler made a challenge and won, but it wasn’t a sanctioned match by the NWA board of directors so the win was overturned

I just find it ironic Nashville is laying out the red carpet for Flair , the Mayor declaring 07/31 Ric Flair Day? (you would honestly think Charlotte, NC. or Minneapolis would be the location of his last match) since the way he dogs "Tennessee hillbillies" since their so stupid according to him. I understand Kayefabe, but down deep there is some truth.

Jerry Lawler cut the best promos of any professional wrestler in the business and that includes the Rock.
Jerry Lawler wasn't ever in Flair's league when it came to promos or wrestling. But, Lawler probably was top 20 or so.
