It’s not all Black Bay, they have the Pelagos, Pelagos FXD, Pelagos Chrono, Pelagos 39, the Royal, Ranger, 1926 and claire the rose. Quite varied if you ask me, but for the future I do agree they need to release new models.

The Tudor line is what Rolex should be. 10k for a stainless steel diver is absolutely insane. If you adjusted for inflation from the 1950’s, a sub should be $1500-1800 tops. But for $2k pre-owned to
$4k new, its within reason. The sub will always be the benchmark for a men’s diver. Whether it says Tudor or Rolex, matters very little to me. As far as things getting old, how much has any of the Rolex line changed? They are still 50’s designs much like a Les Paul or Stratocaster, it’s what they do. If GM still made a 60’s Vetter, I would do it in a heartbeat.

I have the new 41 smooth bezel, BB58, BB Pro, and the new 41 Burgundy. I’m picking up a 41 Royal diamond dial soon. Then GMT’s and a Chrono after that.
I need a Ranger. Many more. I love Tudor.
I agree that they should introduce new model lines. But need more color variations on the updated Metas stuff first.

Tudor is hot! People like it! Black bay is like the Omegas Seamaster line but they separated Pelogos.I agree the Ranger line and Royal line should be expanded. The Chronograph Speed series should be introduced with black bay Chronograph. They should thin it down without the date manual wind. Call it Speed or Lightning( lume the bezel) 41 mm, 12 mm thickness, lug to lug 48 to 50mm lug to lug. Great video!

Yeah seen other collectors say the same thing about the black bay.

Tudor has figured out what sells and what does not sell and they concentrate their efforts on what sells. It’s called business. They are not beating a dead horse. The Black Bay horse is very much alive.

Vanilla watches. I passed on a BB and bought Longines Zulu Time and an Omega AT instead.

A few things. First, you can't be succesful in the long term until you get your first big lasting hit. Most watch companies DREAM of having a "one hit wonder" like expansive Black Bay line. Watch companies have multiple lines in hopes that ONE takes off huge and then they build the brand around the hit and let the others fall away. Mutual fund companies do the same thing. Second, its a business, not a starving artist collective. How stupid would they be to plow millions into new, unproven designs when there is still a lot of demand for the Black Bay line. This video is just the typical watch geek nit picking over absolutely EVERYTHING.

As much as Black Bay is a very cool watch, it is so over made that even that I wanted it before, i'm not sure if I want to have a watch that pretty much everyone else have too
But the sales numbers show that they know what they are doing though.

You could say the same about Rolex, everyone has a Submariner. And there are less variants of that, so everyone has the same. Rolex makes a million watches a year, it’s insane.
The Black Bay range much more varied in comparison and has a configuration for everyone. And everyone choses different: i’ve seen green, red, black, blue, without rotating bezel, jubilee, rubber and so on. So I don’t think it’s over made at all.

@@key4duty Being more varied than Rolex is a very low bar.

      @key4duty 4 місяці тому

@@DadeMurphie yeah but for Tudor there is nothing much more to achieve. Their marketing leans towards younger people. Tudor is filling in the gap Rolex left behind. They are getting closer each year to becoming a brand with good value, accurate and reliable tool watches. And as an overall package no other brand comes close. They literally dare to do what Rolex never would do: having a lot of variation within a specific model range. Which is totally fine. Rolex doesn’t need that, but it’s boring because you see the same model everywhere on every wrist. Only the Datejust has a lot of variety.

@@key4duty they are in the trenches with Omega who are a higher bar than Rolex on variety.

They are going to milk that Black Bay cow for a very long time. I am already borred of Tudor. Also I prefer Pelagos over Black Bay.

Ceramic bezel Pelagos will beat aluminum bezel Black Bay everytime.
