The BB58 is my favourite watch. I have owned mine for a little over two years. I love the size and look but the accuracy amazes me. While my Omega Aquaterra keeps within 1-2 seconds a day the BB58 is dead on. It’s basically quartz accurate.
Great review Russell and I totally support what you say about the bezel. I read a lot of people moaning about the bezel on the Pelagos and I’ve had mine for about 5 years now and never had an issue with it. I’m really pleased you’re still enjoying your BB58.
I feel quite unlucky with mine because I've got a bit of a shit bezel. Firstly it arrived misaligned and very hard to turn. I took it to the Rolex Service Centre here in London and they fixed the alignment - but then it became really jammy to turn for about a quarter of the turn. And then about 9 months or so later the alignment fell out of whack again. In the end I take it to the 59th click, and just inch it over so it is more or less aligned, before it gets to the 60th. When I time things with it and turn the bezel I just have to suffer the jammy section and remember to put it back on the 59th click. I mean, as these things go it's fine. I'll get it sorted when in however many years it goes for its first service.
I bought a Black Bay 58 on the back of the MWC recommendations, and I've got to say, it's by far the best watch I've ever owned. I'm now a Tudor fanboy and want more. Thank you, Russ!
I was at my local AD and they have one in stock so I pulled the trigger on it. The watch is so simply and classy and so satisfying on my wrist. Size is perfect. Im used to my SMP 300 and Breitling Avenger and thought this watch would look smaller. I was dead wrong. Watch is not perfect but is perfect for me.
Gee Russell!! First, this show must be one of your best! Second - long story short, seeing this watch pop up often on your (lovely) show has had me thinking about this watch a lot!! Now this WONDERFUL episode, with the historical context, convincing bezel discussion, etc.. has me across the line on the snowflake (took a while). And there has always been soooo much about this watch I really like! Then your promise at the end, well, it touched my heart! So, I think this will be my next purchase! BUT, what will I do with all my other watches?? Will I still want to wear most of them?? Oh dear, I've never sold a watch before! This show is potentially life changing!!! ❤
Awesome review. A Three year review was a great idea. It helps those of us saving up for the 58. It’s great to know you are still very much happy with the watch.
The 58 is so well made and perfectly proportioned for a sports watch. It borrows from classic Tudors and Rolex without being a slave to an exact copy . It really is it’s own thing. The gilt bezel gives the 58 a warm feel, the red triangle offers a pop of color paying homage to the Rolex Big Crown, the chunky coin edge crown is so satisfying to wind with a refined matching coin edge bezel and I love the snow flake seconds hand. It’s different from the more traditional lollipop style. By the way, 39 mm is on the smaller side for a modern sized sports watch. I think anything smaller is playing vintage territory.
I’ve had my BB58 Blue for over 4 months, but I rarely use the bracelet, usually rotate a collection of CNS NATOs. My main wear, but also love my PRX (blue) and a Seiko field watch for when I go to the gym 🏋🏻♂️
I’ve had my BB58 Navy for three years now and must say, it’s a rare sport watch to consistently deliver for me. Looks great, feels even better. For those with a slightly more casual lifestyle seems like a great GADA.
Nice one mate, good to see the condition after 3yrs and loved the callbacks to the Pelagos 39... still enjoy seeing clips of it in your different videos!
I've had my OG BB58 for around the same time. and love it the same now as when I got it. Not my first Tudor though, that was my Pelagos LHD. Both are 'super' watches. Plenty of wrist time and use but not infant gubbins and my OG still looks pretty good but like yours has some journey marks. A top notch watch.
I agree. I bought the blue 58 first but had a hard time picking what to get because I like both. Had the blew for a couple years and also bought the black. Now I wear the black more and have sometimes considered selling the blue.. Funny how that works. I just recently went down to my AD to check out the 54 and I have to say that I much prefer the 58. The 54 looks way better in pictures and the 58 looks way better in person.
Honestly this watch is my 1st "luxury" watch. After many Seiko's and tissots (which I still love) I can honestly say that the quality is night and day difference. Love this watch so much and I will never sell it!
The BB58 was my grail for a long time, i finally got it this july and it did not dissapoint. Love it! A t-fit would be nice, but i bought an aftermarket easy-link thing and that is almost as good as a t-fit. So now it is perfect. (Probably not going to buy a blue one, though 😂, but a GMT or a chrono in a 39 mm BB case would be cool)
They are my fave watches as well. For all the same reasons. T fit would be amazing. As would drilled lugs. It’s gotta be the hardest effing bracelet to remove and put back that I’ve ever experienced
I've owned mine since December 2018 and only recently just started wearing it. Compared it to a Pelagos 39 in West Quay recently and definitely looks better than the P39. I've got an Everest strap on my OG BB and love it. Got a 2020 sub I barely wear compared to Tudor and Omega options.
Great review...... I totally agree, the BB58, mine is on leather, is the best watch I have owned. The size, operation and look are just perfect. Unfortunately mine is no longer worn daily as I am now retired, but it still comes out when I go out. I would like to see a titanium version.......
Having seen your other BB58 videos I purchased one in silver a few weeks ago. I have quite a few Rolex pieces but have to say I'm really quite impressed with the quality of Tudor. Really looking forward to seeing the silver age as well.
Hey Russell, the best I can do is my Thorn Black Bay 58 homage. It gives me the size and the look without a break the bank price tag. I have tried the real Tudor Black Bay 58 at a Duty Free watch store at Changi Airport, Singapore and I admit it was Super!!! Glad you're loving yours and I hope it brings you many more years of smiles. Meanwhile back in homage land i will smile too at my Thorn.
I think they only bettered this watch when they released the BB54. However, I think the 58 is the watch that really represents Tudor's break through moment as a brand and manufacturer
Don't like the Thors hammer hour hand. I've got a few divers and like good lume on the hour n minute hand but if I was really diving would I be looking at the hour hand?
I've had my BB58 for almost 2 years and it still looks great. The clasp is definitely the biggest bummer of the watch for me. I had to get 2 aftermarket half links to be able to find the perfect fit at any time. Otherwise, it's still a favorite.
How can it be perfect all the time? I think I use all but one of the settings on my Submariner glidelock depending on the temp and the fitting I want. I would never buy a watch with a metal bracelet and no on the fly adjustment clasp.
@fontyyy the trick is to not wear it too tight! Me personally, only my Explorer where I’ve used the extension but that’s only because it’s a little tight to start with. If you are always adjusting , link up brother!!!
I've just bought the BB41, Burgundy, metas certified on the 5 link Brasclet....WTF.... this is the only watch to make me emotional.... pure class, exquisite to the point, my journey might be over!!!
My bb58 crystal has two scratch’s and chip but everything else looks great. My BB36 also has a chip. Every other watch I have with sapphire crystal is flawless. I have concerns about the crystals Tudor use… The bad part is that Tudor will not replace the crystal without a full movement service which is a little frustrating…
I’ve had my bb58 for 18 months and haven’t regretted a single day of owning it thank goodness I got it when I did as prices are really creeping up now could definitely be my one and done watch if such a thing exists.
I’ve had my bb58 for 2 months now, and I really really love this watch. I don’t really wear my 2 other watches that I own anymore. BB58 is a perfect 1 watch collection in my opinion.
I have the BB58 bronze boutique edition, absolutely one of my favourite watches (comparing to my Omega SMP300 white dial). Now I'm also considering the Pelagos 39, but I gotta get the Rolex explorer 36 first!
Belated happy birthday, Russ. Excellent real-world user review. I've had my 58 OG for 2 years and I agree on all points. I love the warmth of the aluminum bezel and the vintage vibes of the gilt accents. I'm wearing mine on a Forstner jubilee, which adds a vintage feel and look. It also looks great on leather and tropic straps. Mine is a keeper that will get passed down.
I need one! It's on my bucket list from a long time. Omega speedmaster was at the first position, now that's a part of my collection. This will be my next one.
Hi russ congrats on your new family addition. Ive got the 41mm s and g bb and i dont mind the heft . They should have been a tad thinner though. Mines holding up pretty well as its a 2018 model , and keeps superb time. My model has gone up over 1k in price , despite the new ones being exactly the same. Quite a hike 25% in 5 years. I bought mine preowned, as i think a lot of watches are overpriced from new. All the major brands have jumped up though , and may push the price of the older models on the used market, but we will see. I personally prefer the blue 58, just looks a bit different from the standard black. If i hadnt got a sla043 with a blue face , i might have been tempted to get one. For my 7.5 wrist i feel the 40/42 size is my sweetspot. Im trying to get my collection down a bit , not very successful though, lol.
Mad Watch man! Went to buy 58 today and saw the sexy bezel of the 39 and she was a lot heavy than I thought. If you replacing a submariner itch she the one. Coin bezel the one. Just needs some more details on the hands
I'm lucky show to have a Black bay Eta, I love those straps you recommend, I wear mine on the Tudor NATO or after market NATO . Epic watches , you are correct on the bezel grip & the lack of adjustment. What does the Wife think ???
Everything i'd have said after 3yrs of ownership.... T Fit clasp is all it needs. Loving mine lately on a single pass No Time To Die NATO. Black and silver with a pick of Gold.... Perfect!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! (belated) You looking damn good mate! Always a good day when I see a new video from you my friend! I think the Pelagos is the one for me.
Love the BB58 - so much so I went out and bought one that was part pressie from the wife too! Great to know it wears well still after a few years. p.s. Didn't you used to be a musician mate? ;)

My Seiko SRPB91K1 (not comparing it to the BB58) beater from 2018 has a few scars, and even micro-dents in the bezel insert. Gives the watch character and soul.
Great review. I am as crazy as you about the BB58 and I own the OG and navy blue as well. As for you the navy blue gets me more than the OG, maybe because I bought them vice versa than you. The OG sees different straps as my navy blue stays on her bracelet. So, don’t worry about getting older, it just happens 😂
Great review Russ, I got rid of the bracelet and wear on various NATO straps, such a great watch. If Tudor make a new variant just watch the price inflate as they become harder to get. Thanks for the great insights and your expertise.
Ha i remember those Reebok's. Had a pair of those along with some big boy bad boy converse star wave trainers . They were massive. Looked like a golf club
I always wondered, is it okay to play tennis with a mechanical watch? When I bought my BN58, I got conflicting advice from the AD about whether the vibrations during impact with the ball would damage the watch.
Why be worried about turning another year older - I am more concerned about not turning it....
TRUE!!
You wouldn't worry, in that case...
@@filipecostamartinsworrying is something you typically do before something happens.
Good that he clearly said that he is not worried then.
Are you sure you are blowing up Reebok pumps or a blow up Doll, wifey will not be impressed . You have a lot of explaining to do to the wifey.
Congratulations on 93k subs you're really killing it .
The BB58 is my favourite watch. I have owned mine for a little over two years. I love the size and look but the accuracy amazes me. While my Omega Aquaterra keeps within 1-2 seconds a day the BB58 is dead on. It’s basically quartz accurate.

Very relatable! I started with a blue BB58 and got the new BB36 in anthracite earlier this year. I recommend them both to anyone 🙌
