I've always wondered how many penalties in the last couple of minutes of a game wouldn't happen if penalty minutes carried over to the next time the teams face each other. Thoughts?
Just give them an automatic match suspension if they get a match penalty in the last minute of play.

The broadcast said something about Hisher injuring Barkov during the last matchup. Tkachuk probably saw an opening to get back at him once the game was pretty much over.

Don’t get butthurt when your team takes a gamble and gets burned. Simple. Attacking a player after a goal is weak, and deserves suspensions/fines. Besides, some guys are trying to get those stats up to stay on rosters/get better contracts/get those bonuses. If you don’t wanna let up empty netters then be better than the other team.

I didn't know hockey was as soft as baseball with the unwritten rules. You're playing pro. Just imagine if there was a rule that said "if you're uncontested with an open net, you have to tap the puck in as soft as possible so you don't upset the other team". Don't like it? The team that is behind usually pulls the goalie in the last couple of minutes so they can have an extra player on offense , making it a 6 on 5, and effectively making the defending team shorthanded.

when teams get desperate for more scoring chances in the third period, they'll sometimes take out their goalies in exchange for putting an extra man on the ice. this is usually a last resort, and you have to have really solid defense in order to find even a little bit of success this way. as for your second question, many players are emotionally immature lmao

Here is my take on the Greig/Rielly debate. Greig did not have to slapshot the empty net. But he could, no rule against it. Rielly could not do that. Rule against it. Unsportsmanlike does not apply to style points/cellies/whatever. It does apply to retaliation against getting scored on. Not that hard to understand

You can't hit someone after a goal like that. That hit from Toronto is Pierre Tuergon all over again. The suspension was not long enough. Unprotected player, cross check to the head. No room for that in hockey. Be mad about the slapshot and the stupid unwritten rules, but that's not the time to handle it.
