Jep. This is nothing like outrun. The looks are just similair, because that was the way the early racegames showed themself. Otherwhise, outrun would be an pole position clone. But no. Outrun is a from point a to b race top gear. This game is even more lotus challenge then outrun. Why all people assume just stuff and just because outrun is the most famouse, bam, it's like outrun. I can't get this. Or is this an american thing?...

it is a spiritual successor to top gear. the guy who did the soundtrack for top gear did the same for this game. anyone who says this is a successor to outrun most likely knows nothing about top gear at all.

I just wanna know one thing, and one thing only. When the **** are we getting a Cruis'n game on the Switch? Now, I know the series was notorious for getting really bad reviews, but considering how many of my friends had the two games (on N64), and how hard it always was to get onto the machine at the arcade because kids were always hogging it... this was clearly one of those situations in which "the critics forgot how to have fun." Which is always something good to keep in mind when you love something and a critic hates it... just say "fuck this guy, they don't know what they're talking about," and keep enjoying your thing. Unless it's a multiplayer online game, then you're screwed because other people will probably listen to the critics and hail their thoughts above their own........ that's humanity, though. For now, anyway.
I bought this game while ago not watching a single review. I was sold by the graphics. For my surprise it was a fantastic game full of content, amazing music and solid gameplay. These game is pure adrenaline rush. Challenging all the way. 10/10 easily
This game goes on sale quite often, I think I paid only $5 for it recently, but I think it's worth it even if you pay full price. I really like this game, and when I want to get my racing fix, I usually choose Horizon Chase over Need for Speed and Burnout Paradise.

But with the lack of a decent campaign mode (just a mix of races lumped together with 3 difficulty levels) and a completely barren online, it couldn't hold my attention for long. THAT SAID.. it's the closest we've gotten to proper Next gen F-ZERO in years. Worth the price, but not a big deal for racing fans.
Because of the collision, Horizon zero chase is one of the most frustrating racing game ever. Add in the very short laps and the chances to win are very low.
So basically we've got no new ideas for games now that we have to go back to the AMIGA 500 in 1991 and Gremlin Graphics classic Lotus Esprit Turbo! Which then was ported to the SNES in the new name of Top Gear! At the time, this was a truly good racer for the Amiga 500, but today, this has been surpassed by Sega's update Outrun Online Arcade (Outrun 2 SP).

Yeah Top Gear and Lotus (especially the stages in russia), it doesn't even remotely compare to Outrun's gameplay.

Just got this for free this month on ps4. Its so addictive, a couple of 30 min sessions have already turned into hours

I’m more stuck on the fact you can change your car’s color and that additional car named Cable Guy, which aren’t present in the PC version...
They are though. They released them on an update. You can change colors and pick the "Firma Guy".

I had no doubt about the overall quality of this game. I preordered the game about 2 days ago, I'm just waiting to finally start it on my Switch.
