Hebrews 2:16 KJV “For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.” I think this verse answered the opening question for me. He chose to live like us, with us, and for us. Then having died for our sins, he has proven his perfect love for us. Yes, Jesus was a good man.
