So, did you wake up this morning expecting to listen to an Aussie Country artist doing a cover of Eminem on a banjo? Got to love Kasey. Never afraid to show her heart on her sleeve. Good reaction.
I was at the Women in Music Awards Brisbane Oct 2nd 2024 .Casey Chambers Ripped the Roof off . The entire Music Hall was standing, screaming, crying ,Casey owned this song her band were just so awesome! She honoured Eminem.
I'm so glad that she continues to play this song. IMHO, it's the best cover of any song ever. I've listened to it thousands of times and there is something different in it every time.
Best live performance of 2022 IMHO. Chambers said in a press statement. “I’ve been mostly influenced in my life by writers who bravely put fearless emotion into lyrics and no one does that better than Eminem.”
You can understand why we wanted you to hear this. Kasey is a legend is Australia, youngest ever woman to be inducted into the ARIA hall of fame ARIA = Australian Recording industry Association. Em's writing is on full display here, you cannot do something like this if it's not well writen, and the way she keeps a similar cadence while singing it is *chefs kiss*. Her dad was the one on slide guitar as well.
Thanks for your comment, I had wondered if it was Bill on the slide guitar! As a teenager I would Always hassle him for the same song every time I was Lucky enough to be present for a sing along/"jam" session with him being the main performer. I am now in my late 60's and have enjoyed his career and then to the extension of the Deadringer band, that was made up, basically, of his wife and their 2 children and the beginnings of Kasey's career! Great stuff!! Proud Aussie!
Hand up, I didn't give Kasey any of my time based on nothing more than preconceived misconceptions that she was a country artist and I don't like country. We live in same country for f#cks sake. What a fool am I. Well this ride's all about the lessons and Kasey Chambers, you just schooled me and I thank you for it sincerely. You are a gem and this song a golden temple of your making
I am an Aussie metalhead and got dragged kicking and screaming to a Kasey gig way back in 2004... never have I headbanged more at a gig than at that performance at the Coogee RSL! And they pigeon hole her as Country... that gig was as far from Country as I could ever have imagined, yes there was some country-like elements but there was also blues, R n B, hard rock elements just as much. Kasey is a freak of a talent, so proud she is a skip.
@@manna6618I used to be into rock and the rocky side of pop with a bit of the quirky side of pop but in the early 2000’s when I didn’t find much of the top 40 I liked anymore I went across to Australian country for a bit.....not kerneghan type country but live Becky cole (live she really rocked, records seemed a bit toned down) and a few others. Kasey, has music literally in her blood. Tough childhood, in as much as grew up travelling from one Australian town to another, each night spent around the camp fire making music with her family. Tough lady, mother, a no nonsense very talented woman

There are so many Australian artists and bands that the rest of the world have never heard before, but are now slowly being recognized for their songs. It's such an amazingly different, and beautiful interpretation (not a cover). It's like she stumbled across the lyrics, having never heard the song, and thought, "These are good lyrics. I could write a song to these." and so she did.
I’m not even sure what I just watched but wow 😮 I dint even have words right now. She felt every word of that song and it was evident when you could see her holding back tears towards the end
I “Lose It” when she starts beating on her chest and holding that note. Jesus fucking Christ on a pogo stick. She felt every single nanosecond of that song with every fiber in her soul.
Not bad for an Aussie country singer is it... by the way, it's her father on the Steel/Slide guitar... Kasey kills it. I first heard this on a reaction video and now I've watched it so many times. My favourite all-time Kasey song used to be "Rattlin Bones'' but now it's "Lose Yourself". From a family band called the "Dead Ringer Band" to this.... amazing... Great reaction and I really like the fact that you didn't pause, pause, pause... Thanks mate...

I think that I've found the one artist in the world who could do credit to a cover of 'Hi Ren'. :shiver:
It's such an amazingly different, and beautiful interpretation (not a cover).
It's like she stumbled across the lyrics, having never heard the song, and thought, "These are good lyrics. I could write a song to these." and so she did.
I’m not even sure what I just watched but wow 😮 I dint even have words right now. She felt every word of that song and it was evident when you could see her holding back tears towards the end
I “Lose It” when she starts beating on her chest and holding that note. Jesus fucking Christ on a pogo stick. She felt every single nanosecond of that song with every fiber in her soul.
Kasey Chambers has been blowing Aussie's socks off for 25 odd years! She just gets better with age.
Bill sure made that steel slide cry! Brilliant......
Plus her brother on the lead guitar and supporting vocals!
I think that's Brandon Dodd on guitar. Nash hasn't played with her on stage for decades I believe (though I could be wrong)
I adore monkey on a wire
What an incredible piece of music from a a brilliant artist!! Made it her own 👍🇦🇺
I need to see Eminem react to this. Wow that shit was frickin Amazing
WOW....OMG..... GOOSEBUMPS. TRULY AMAZING. SEE PEOE CAN MAKE MUSIC THERE OWN AND STILL SOUND GREAT. SPEECHLESS.... SHE'S WONDERFUL AND GREAT
Em gave Spotify permission, as the writer , for her version to be played…Em was all in…
This was awesome, I don't think I would have found this without you reacting
Kasey Chambers has a small channel but she's no small act: She's been big in Australia long before UA-cam got big. I'm glad other's are discovering Aus talent.
You ask why this song don't have millions of views to me it's like an oz'e asking why bidden is still in power ' fuck only knows '
A couple of years ago i bought few kasey chambers records on vinyl at different times. both came with hand written notes from her mum, and were signed. Quality people. My wifes gig, but i love her too now
She is something else wow!
❤ I love your reaction, your comments are an awesome tribute to our incredible Kasey. FYI she's been performing on stage she was a child with her family band, before going it on her own🌾
Isn't this an amazing interpretation of Em's song !
I must have watched 10 different reactions to this song, and every time I start tearing up....
When I saw you were going to react to this, I knew that you would be blown away. Great reaction and kudos for how you help get people to support the original artists. No matter how many times you see it you will have the same reaction each time.
Thank you sooo much for reacting to this song, this gave me chills and had me crying most of the day yesterday when i first heard the song myself
this blew me away the first time i heard it, absolutely amazing
