Great choice Chief! The 'ch' in their name is softer like in 'church'. All these women great and experienced musicians - Hana is one of my favourite multi-instrumentalists - second drummer here but plays whatever she wants or needs to for the band, and yes, they all can do vocals. Takes a certain 'Mindset'. someone else might mention their song 'Mindset'. Have I mentioned 'Mindset'? Sorry, one of my new favourites by them. Super groovy and full of energy.

@@LesDexia13 This line-up the most solid and formidable yet (Chief, they've had a few in 12 years!). "I wish I" had the "Mindset" to get excited by only one song at a time, but these women continue to serve up the good stuff.

As a Brit, try saying it as Ga (as in Gammon), cha (as in Chat), ric (as in Astley), and Spin as if it were English. Your guess at the meaning of the name is about right.
They have described themselves as an 'entertainment group', cover a wide range of music from EDM to the edges of metal, have some very cool acoustic arrangements and also dabble in comedy skits. They are about to celebrate their 12th anniversary, although they have undergone quite a few line-up changes over that time. The bass player and drummer (well, multi-instrumentalist - she was singing in this video) have been constants and the guitarist and keys player are long standing members. Not content with making their own music, they have an occasional side project covering '70s/'80s metal called Metallic Spin, in which they claim to be Ukrainian. They also get together with the vocalist from SHOW-YA (iconic Japanese female heavy rock group that started in 1981) to form Teradaric Spin. Another occasional side project exploring heavier music is DOLL$BOXX, this time featuring FUKI from Unlucky Morpheus on vocals. They have also been known to form fake local idol groups so that they can be their own support acts at live shows. As a measure of how well respected they are amongst their peers, they regularly appear with Takayoshi Ohmura (Kami Band) at this birthday gigs (he also wrote a song for them) and I've seen footage of them appearing as the backing band for a couple of members of the huge idol group AKB48. They are somewhat overlooked in the west because they make a lot of 'pop', so don't quite go hard enough for most metalheads. While its very hard to pick just one, I think Gacharic Spin may be my favourite Japanese band.

For fun, they played this song on toy instruments. ua-cam.com/video/DzoxNWNnFpw/v-deo.html
Off their new album, Mindset is fantastic.

**Yuri (Drummer) is not in the music video or live version because she was off on maternity leave. She was back yesterday at their 12th anniversary online live.
Hana, drummer on the right, in black, usually plays guitar these days. They did double drums for a few songs as a special treat for fans during their 10th anniversary concert.

It's been explained many times over, but Hana the drummer on the right, also singing lead vocals, is the original drummer in the band, however she is a multi instrumentalist too. They brought Yuri in to play drums to free Hana up to front the band a little more, play guitar, and other instruments as needed. All are very talented ladies, and like has already been suggested, checkout one of their newest tunes Mindset. I recommend the studio video, then watch the live concert version, it's pretty amazing live too. Tomoshii didn't really showcase the kind of monster bass player Koga is she's pretty scary on bass. You'll notice drummer Yuri isn't present, she got married then got pregnant and went out on maternity leave, but I think she just recently rejoined them.

First time hearing this band...WoW!! Can you say "Harmony Queens", I've only ever heard drum harmonizing from one other band, Godsmack drum battle, which blew me away. This song was on par with that, not just the drums, but how they passed the vocals around was unbelievable, I've never heard it done that way...geezussss.
I have only been listening to Japanese metal for a few months and I have to say that I am extremely impressed.
    More, we need MORE 🤯🥳💃🧑‍🎤
Edit: For those that may not be familiar with the aforementioned Godsmack drum battle, here is a link...
    ua-cam.com/video/iJ8-r_hd5PY/v-deo.html
Sully Erna is the one playing the bongos in the beginning. Shannon Larkin, obviously, is the other drummer.
Fun fact: Sully hired Shannon after his original drummer left. Turns out that Shannon was Sully's drum teacher.

Ahh you've finally checked out this band, I've been shilling for them in your comments section for so long XD
Here's how to actually pronounce the name as I see many people giving misleading advice in the comments: Ga (as in 'gap') - Cha (as in 'chap') - Rick Spin - Ga-cha-rick Spin
Gacharic Spin are known for mashing up many genres and influences to create their sound which covers a vast amount of musical territory but is always distinctly ‘them’. The core they hang everything around is a solid rock underpinning but you’ll find them building on top of that in styles that range from punk, funk, pop and EDM, to speed metal, prog metal, nu-metal, jazz, and many more.
There’s so many more suggestions for fantastic songs you can check out, I’ll try and limit it to just a few:
Tamashii (Toy Instrument Version) - They did a performance of this track you reacted to here played on toy instruments whilst bored in lockdowns last year, it’s very silly but also huge fun and shows that they can even make a bunch of cheap toys sound great: ua-cam.com/video/DzoxNWNnFpw/v-deo.html
MindSet (MV) - A recent track from their latest album that just released in September, this one is super funky with a full jazz-prog fusion interlude. This track also shows off why bassist F Chopper Koga regularly ranks highly in “Best Bassist” lists in Japanese bass magazines. You can find it here: ua-cam.com/video/QmL0V667QzI/v-deo.html
MindSet (Live) - A live recording of them performing MindSet showing how effortlessly they can perform a song that fast and complex live: ua-cam.com/video/lQFBwxoEnmg/v-deo.html
I Wish I (MV) - The other MV released to promote their new album and the lead track on that album. This track is a real music journey from it’s delicate chilled intro to the screaming chaos it closes with and the many twists and turns it takes along the way there: ua-cam.com/video/-R6Nrr_omjE/v-deo.html
Kishikaisei Forever (MV) - An MV that was originally only available as a bonus on a DVD from their previous album, this one has a prog metal vibe and they asked a very close friend of the band Takayoshi Ohmura to write it for them. You may know Takayoshi as one of the guitarists from Babymetal’s Kami Band, as well as other projects like Oruborous, Liv Moon, and his own solo material. On a side note Takayoshi has a birthday gig every year and it always features Takayoshi (of course), the Kami Band, and Gacharic Spin. I notice you’re saving up for a drum kit to do covers on, if you want a track that’ll force you to learn some pretty extreme syncopations that need to groove hard this could be a good choice for you ua-cam.com/video/08bci2ZjbTw/v-deo.html
Hunting Summer (Live) - This is one of their oldest tracks from back when they formed in 2009 and they’ve evolved it a lot of the years. It’s pure electro-party rock FUN and they always come up with whacky things to do in the solo interlude. I’ll include links to a few different performances of it for you to choose from:
    Live 2019 version: ua-cam.com/video/bUO33-W04uk/v-deo.html
    Live 2017 version: ua-cam.com/video/fWPyXZzeV3Y/v-deo.html
Live 2011 version: ua-cam.com/video/Hqd2QgoJFDI/v-deo.html (just a fan cam from them performing in some random shopping centre but sound is surprisingly decent and it shows how great they’ve always been live)
Lost Angel (Live) - Another old track of theirs that is super energetic and has evolved through the years. Incredibly catchy chorus melody in this one and TOMO-ZO’s guitar solo is nuts ua-cam.com/video/_-bMQ1fcqBQ/v-deo.html
Drum Solo + Black Survival (Feat. Fuki) (Live) - A live performance from their 2013 DVD. This is a speed metal track with absolutely epic vocal harmonies and an awesome drum solo introduction. As a side note this formation of Gacharic Spin musicians with Fuki (from Unlucky Morpheus, Dragon Guardian, Light Bringer, her own solo material) on lead vocals is also the band DOLL$BOXX who you reacted to a few months ago. ua-cam.com/video/5u5BZnTe6zQ/v-deo.html
I could keep going for literally dozens more MV’s and live clips but I think that’s more than enough for now.
I hope you keep exploring this band, they’ve been my main musical obsession for many years ever since I first discovered them!
I will post a follow up comment with some information about the band members and brief history for those who are particularly interested/dedicated.

      @nanakakitano9724 3 роки тому +8

      Additional Information Comment
First, a little info about the band name:
Gacha Gacha is Japanese onomatopoeia for "clatter", you may have heard of Gachapon machines, the vending machines you put a coin in and get a random toy out of in a clear plastic ball - so named due to the clattering sound of the ball falling down the tube and from the same onomatopoeia. The 'ric' part of the band name after the "gacha" bit is a fake Englishisation added to onomatopoeia to show that something "has the state of" - e.g. 'symmetric' for something which has 'symmetry'. So a 'spin' that has the state of 'clattering' - referencing the many genres and sounds they mix together to create their style.
Here’s the members you can see in this video:
      * Michiko "F Chopper" Koga - bass - One of the best bassists in Japan, she regularly ranks highly in "Best Bassist" lists in Japanese bass magazines. Particularly noted for her extremely good slap bass technique from which she gets her "F Chopper" stage name - F stands for "Funk" (or sometimes she says "Pheromone") and Chopper refers to the Japanese term for slap bass which is "chopping".
      * Hana Sano - drums, vocals - A noted multi-instrumentalist, she was originally just the drummer for Gacharic Spin and provided a few backup vocals. When their lead singer unexpectedly quit in 2012 shortly before an overseas tour they decided for her to also do lead vocals as a stop gap, but they found it worked so well she has been a lead vocalist ever since. In early 2019 she decided to switch to guitar and vocals, although sometimes she still jumps behind the kit (as in this video) and she also sometimes plays the aerophone (think an electronic saxophone).
      * Tomoko "TOMO-ZO" Midorikawa - guitar - Joined the band shortly after it formed in 2009, she’s also a talented singer and keyboard player and she loves all things cute and pink. It’s a tradition for her to have at least one song where she takes lead vocals on every album, the songs are normally cute fun pop-rock songs with epic guitar solos.
      * Suzuki “Oreo” Reona - keys, vocals - Originally joined the band as a live support member in 2012 but joined as a full time member around the time their original singer suddenly quit. She’s known for her whacky and fun stage persona (including dressing as a giant hamburger for their 2018 tour). She also plays acoustic guitar occasionally. Her and Hana mostly shared lead vocal duties from 2013-2018, in 2019 she stepped back a bit from vocals to focus on doing more keys
      * Angelina 1/3rd “Angie” - vocals - The 1/3rd part of her name refers to her mixed ancestry (only 1/3rd Japanese is the joke as she has Spanish and Filipino in her as well). She’s the pink haired girl on the mic. A relatively new addition to the band who joined in early 2019 at the age of only 17, she originally provided raps, harmonies and took a few melodies, but they’ve been grooming her into being a lead singer which she’s proving excellent at.
      * Yuri - drums - When Angie joined in early 2019 the plan had been for another vocalist to join along with her and Hana to focus more on drumming, that other vocalist however dropped out shortly before she was announced to have joined so they quickly decided for Hana to switch to guitar and vocals and get a drummer in. They knew Yuri before as she used to play in a band called LAGOON which had gigged with Gacharic Spin several times. They asked her to audition, found they gelled really well and brought her on board in early 2019. She also plays guitar and sings. She has had a leave of absence from the band since Feb 2021 as she got married and pregnant but a few days ago played her first show again with the band for their 12th Anniversary special. In her absence a guy called Levin from La’cryma Christi has been their live support drummer (you can see him in the “I Wish I” MV as well) and Hana recorded the drums for the new album.
      A brief history:
The band was formed in mid 2009 by F Chopper Koga and Hana. Chopper had recently disbanded her previous band The Pink Panda which had reached a decent degree of mainstream success. Chopper however had been getting disillusioned with the band and the music industry due to increasing pressure from the record label to focus on watered down commercial music. Eventually she broke the band up and was considering quitting music all together. She decided however she’d give it one last shot if she could get her old friend from high-school Hana to form a band with her as they had done a few small collaborations in the early/mid 2000’s which Koga had enjoyed a great deal.
Luckily for us Hana jumped at the invitation and Gacharic Spin was formed. At first they got on lead singer Armmmy (RIP) and guitarist Eita and started writing. After a few months however Eita dropped out and TOMO-ZO was brought in as a replacement.
They had some decent success as an indie band and released a number of singles and an EP with Armmmy. However in 2012 Armmmy started becoming unreliable and suddenly quit shortly before a number of tours they had lined up. It seems Armmmy had been suffering from health problems because she sadly passed away in 2015. In the meantime Gacharic Spin managed to struggle through the Japan tour they had lined up with a number of different vocalists they got in at short notice (including Fuki), then did the overseas tour with Hana singing lead. After completing that tour they weren’t sure if Gacharic Spin could continue, but had found they had great chemistry with Fuki, so whilst they figured out Gacharic Spin they put it on hold briefly and made the first DOLL$BOXX album with Fuki in 2012. In 2013 they picked up Gacharic Spin again and decided that Hana and Oreo would share lead vocals, but as both were behind instruments at the back of the stage they brought in two dancers to be out front and hype the audience up. This formation lasted from 2013 to the end of 2018 when the dancers left for various reasons (one had started getting hearing issues from all the loud gigs, one just wanted to focus on non musical activities).
This was the point where they decided they would completely re-work the band again and bring in some lead vocalists so Hana and Oreo could focus on their instruments more. Koga found Angie at a high-school talent show and invited her to join. They also found another singer who would take the lead spot, but shortly before announcing her she decided to quit. This caused the scramble where it was decided for Hana to switch to guitar and vocals and bring in Yuri on drums, which about covers where we’re up to at the moment.
I hope there was some information of interest to anyone dedicated enough to read the whole thing.
      EDIT: Formatting for readability

Since the first vocalist left the group, they haven't been able to settle on one vocalist, and now everyone can sing.
The piano and guitar solos are outstanding. But the bass is pretty good too.

I think the 2nd way you said it is correct - Gack-are-rick Spin. And in the song they say "Tama-she". Around 2018 the band was Oreo on keyboard. Hana on drums/vocals. Koga on bass and Tomo-Zo on guitar. They added two new members (red hair) Angelina on vocals and Yuri on drums. Now that they have Yuri on drums - Hana has been coming up front on guitar and vocals.
Two other songs of theirs i love is "Juicy Beats" and "Redline" One of their newest songs that is good is "Mindset". What i love about this band is the super high energy they have.
FYI - if you take out Angie and Yuri and add vocalist Fuyuki Tenge (Fuki) you have the group Doll$Boxx.

'ch' is never pronounced like 'k' in Japanese. It's always soft, as in "chess".

Glad you enjoyed! 🤘🎸💃😎 Didn’t read the other comments, which probably covered this. But the essentials. They don’t know how to pronounce it either, it’s their spin on Gacha Gacha music, which means annoying, in the sense of clattering dishes, and also refers to gambling (Gacha Gacha is sound of plastic prize from gumball machine, songs like Roulette, album Kakuhen basically something like go with the odds).
The core 4 (bass guitar keys and singing drummer) jointly have multiple bands just with different singers, I think you’ve already seen them as Doll$Boxx w Fuki (unlucky Morpheus etc), also Metallic Spin doing 80s metal covers w singer from Sabre Tiger.
Tho bassist FCK (ms. Koga does Chop the bass with mad Feramones, not kidding) founded the band with Hana originally on drums. But Hana is a musical savant aspiring to be studio/arrangement genius. They lost a singer, she sings lead from drums. Lost more members (long story) she gets new singer(pink haired Angie, a high school junior) AND drummer/mom/pixie Yuri, so Hana herself can drum, or run around, or play guitar, or piano, or electric sax/synth, or percussion, or knock heads (comically, they’re realllllly funny), they’ve been known to snap 10ft rubber bands into each other’s teeth, just colorful clowns. Consider themselves entertainers first, in a pop band, utilizing whatever music they want: rave, metal, funk, Latin dance, jazzy classic rock, or just raw punk.
And they all sing lead except Koga; you heard why when she screamed Yeah, that and short raps are all she’s got voice wise…. But she a world leading slap player, keyboardist is wacky (she shrieks too) yet classically trained, Guitar TomoZo has been playing in pro bands (tv shows etc) since 16 and covers songs like Battery, but knows her role, even if it’s disco or acoustic. So ya, they’re great. I avoid using Tamashii (Soul) as an intro song; it’s got everything they do?, but is too toned down to shock people. Truth is, metalers welcome them, they host Takayoshi Ohmura’s bday concert every year for instance (main BabyMetal guitarist, his bdays have more dvds than mine.)
Lots to hear. This was from 2019; try from a different era, the one that hooked me was Broken Lover (written by ex BabyMetal bsssist Ikuo) live 2015 for chaotic crowd control and minor bit of stripping ua-cam.com/video/yVTp3SESzpY/v-deo.html
Also try juicy Beats live 2019, Sekira Liar (MV, or live around 2016), live hunting summer 2017 had dueling keyboards, and Reincarnate Forever with music by Ohmura himself ua-cam.com/video/08bci2ZjbTw/v-deo.html from Gold Dash, album to support the recent Paralympics, which the title track (MV, or studio session with subtitles) seems to me to be like if Rush took a rapper to a Rave!
And of course anything MV or DVD (all black outfits) for Doll$Boxx

Now that you have chosen this song, the next move is to watch the same song played with toys as instruments ua-cam.com/video/DzoxNWNnFpw/v-deo.html
Then, you must listen to my favorite song of the year called "MindSet"by...Gacharic Spin :)
Hana (the drummer who sings) used to be the drummer of the band but she switched to rhythm guitar two years ago and was replaced by Yuri behind the kit. Angie is also in the band since 2019, before that, Hana and Oreo (the keyboardist) were the main singers. Koga is the bassist who screamed during the song and you haven't seen nothing from her super powers yet. Last but not the least (not at all), Tomo-zo on lead guitar, is my favorite guitarist with Kanami from BAND-MAID.
Gacharic Spin is my main soundtrack when I'm doing sports and exercises 💪🏻🔥
