congratulations, you have just discovered the best band on the planet ! 😀 metal + grace + elegance + beauty + sympathy + great musicians + great songs = LOVEBITES !!!
Thanks for the reaction! LOVEBITES is not a power metal band. The ladies play different genres of metal (thrash, speed, neoclassical, power, progressive, symphonic, etc. metal), often mixing these genres in one song. At their concerts, LOVEBITES also play classical music (piano), adding it to metal. In June 2018, LOVEBITES were voted 'Best New Band' in heavy music and received GOLDEN GODS from Metal Hammer (London, UK).
LOVEBITES - Rising lyrics: Failure or pride? The fear deep inside Success doesn't come with a few empty tries Fortune and fame, seem easy to claim But those who've succeeded defeated the pain Why give up on a life that you love? Play the game with no shame till the very end RISE AGAIN - though you're broken and scarred... You can choose, not to lose, you can build it again! DON'T LET GO - of what's deep in your heart You are free to fly, go and change your destiny! Too late to change? The past will remain But it's up to you to decide on a name Glory is not what miracles brought The path you have taken will lead you the way Why give up on a life that you love? Play the game with no shame till the very end LIVE AGAIN - with the vows in your heart Even if you get lost in the darkest of nights DON'T FORGET - that you've made it this far Show your scars with pride and believe your history... Sometimes we can't see the light anywhere Sometimes we don't have our luck in the air Almost like we've been left by ourselves I'm alone, you're alone, somewhere in the world But open your arms, look up and you will see an endless blue sky l believe, you believe, we will live out today So it leads to tomorrow! SOLO: midori / miyako / midori / miyako / both RISE AGAIN - though you're broken and scarred You can choose, not to lose, you can build it again DON'T LET GO - of what's deep in your heart You are free to fly, rise above your fate! LIVE AGAIN - with the vows in your heart Even if you get lost in the darkest of nights DON'T FORGET - that you've made it this far You are free to fly, go and change your destiny! ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) album: Clockwork Immortality 12/05/2018 -----
These Japanese women are extremely talented, skillful and exceptional versatile musicians. Their live performances are just outstanding. Their main influences are the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their own and unique style. Some people say that they’re breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. Those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in a little more than seven years. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band; her voice is rather clean, no opera training. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist. Miho (former bassist and founder of the band) once said that they wanted to play as heavy as men but keeping their femininity. Yes, this song is a typical power metal tune but with an uplifting message, but they have much better songs. All their songs are in English. They recently finished their tour in Europe, Asia and the USA. My next suggestions are “Judgement day”, “Set the world on fire”, “The hammer of wrath”, “MDO”, “Thunder vengeance”, “Shadowmaker”, “Soldier stands solitarily”, “Break the wall”, “Raise some hell”, “Above the Black Sea”, “Under the red sky”. All songs live. Music is a very subjective matter and it depends on personal preferences so, at least to me, trying to compare bands is just nonsense. Some people say that rock is not dead… it just moved to Japan.
LOVEBITES They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans. They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM, heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal, hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk. They mix all with classical music using operatic, R&B, soul and gospel skills of vocalist and grand piano and Spanish guitar skills playing. Sometimes they use typical Japanese melodic lines which are included in ENKAs_ melancholy ballads singing by Japanese women. Only their can do it. Obviously they draw a lot from British, German and American metal. All this makes their style unique. 🐺🤘LOVEBITES 🤘🐺 the team of five thrashpower metal goddesses from Japan_Tokyo. "We're not here to be cute, we're here to be heavy" Asami🎤 R&B, jazz, soul, gospel, metal, rock singer, lyrics, (only English all songs one is exception in Japanese language) she trained ballet. Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥 Here some information about them: The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have already recorded 4 full length studio albums, in addition some EPs and Singles and a bunch of live albums, available on CD and DVD/Blu-ray. In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band. LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. This also includes appearances at most European major metal festivals such as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Resurrection Fest and Hellfest. They just finished their first US tour about 2 weeks ago. In 2021 the band went into a hiatus, because founder and bassist Miho quit the band for personal reasons. During the break also two babies were born. LOVEBITES came back in October 2022 with new bassist Fami and a few months later with new album „Judgement Day“. A new EP and a live album have been released on august 28. There are already a plenty of videos on their UA-cam channel. The band members of LOVEBITES are (including their official nicknames) Asami on vocals (the one and only voice): She has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch): She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, furthermore she is a gear nerd Midori on guitars (crazy shredder): Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, has contributed to songwriting for a few of their songs, also she is a body fitness athlete Haruna on drums (little big engine): Plays very fast pace over long distances, she is very efficient and her stamina is admirable, the cymbal work is outstanding, she also wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers): Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger): We will never forget her, she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3
In late 2019, I discovered an all female rock band called Band-Maid and I instantly became a fan. Soon after I watched this Lovebites mv for Rising and, to be honest, I wasn't sold on the song. Then a brand new mv for Lovebites was released for the song When Destinies Align. My jaw hit the floor during that mv and I became a very big Lovebites fan. I later learned that the guitarist Miyako composed the music for both songs and the vocalist Asami wrote the lyrics. I consider When Destinies Align to be one of Miyako's five masterpieces (so far) and the song Rising has grown on me. Miyako has composed the music on just about half of the Lovebites catalog. After Band-Maid and Lovebites, the floodgates opened on Japanese rock and metal. Prior to late 2019, the only Japanese bands I really paid attention to were Maximum the Hormone and Sigh. However, in the last few years I have seen Band-Maid, Nemophila, Asterism (a great trio) and Lovebites live. A couple of weeks ago, I traveled from Texas to attend ProgPower in Atlanta. Lovebites made their US debut at ProgPower and, as a headliner, they played a full 90 minute set (a set which included Rising and When Destinies Align). I had high expectations for their performance, and they exceeded those expectations. In a couple of weeks, I will be seeing the band Jinjer live (I also saw them last year). One of the two opening bands for Jinjer is Hanabie. I consider Tatiana Shmayluk of Jinjer to be the best metal vocalist, male or female. Yukina and then Tatiana are quite a one two punch. I am hoping they share the stage for a song. Finally, in late November, I will be seeing BabyMetal live in OKC. I am taking my wife, daughter and granddaughter to that show. Here is the link for When Destinies Align - ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html My introduction to Jinjer was with the mv for the song Teacher, Teacher!, which is still my favorite Jinjer song - ua-cam.com/video/oRkRwL0vjOg/v-deo.html

You have discovered probably their slower and calm song... check out something harder and faster: "Soldier stands solitarily" or "We have the resurrection", just to listen to the more recent performances, and to have a more correct idea about what the lovebites are!
This is more Epic live from Memorial for the Warrior Souls with new bassist Fami and also Asami holds notes on other songs like Edge of the World where again Guitarist Miyako starts on Piano
This is pretty tame for them, if you want heavier, Set the world on Fire, Thunder Vengeance, Break the Wall, Soldier Stands Solitarily, We are the Resurrection.
Welcome to Lovebites, the Wolfpack 🐺 Lovebites fans around the world, will be along to give you information and recommendations. Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects. Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the basist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is 'new girl' Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string) The present members are, Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker. Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE. Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman. Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos. Fami, Bacchus Bass. The 'new girl', recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens. Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. I saw Lovebites live in London recently, and watched Haruna in awe. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed. All members of the band can play piano/keyboards. They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023. If you enjoyed this song, here are a few recommendations for further listening Break The Wall, Soldier Stand Solitary, Golden Destination (there is a video that has footage from their 2019 tour of the UK with Dragon Force, including Herman Li as the 'missing sixth member of Lovebites' wearing a white dress) Thunder Vengeance, M.D.O., Scream For Me (live from 'Daughters of the Dawn' "OK Haruna, Give me the beat") For a masterclass in syncronised guitar shredding. Winds of Transylvania (written for a Japanese Anime series VLADLOVE) Frozen Serenade, Swan Song, with the Chopin piano introduction played by Miyako, Edge of the World, Epilogue. There are many more I could suggest, but this should give you an idea of their range. The Wolfpack will have more suggestions. I would suggest watching live performances wherever possible. The ladies really shine on stage. I saw Lovebites live in London twice during their recently concluded European tour. I have been a fan of Rock and Metal music right from the beginning seeing bands bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Iron Maiden when they were 'new', Lovebites are amongst the best I have ever seen in over 60 years 🤘🐺
Best is absolutely subjective. - If you like hard hitting metal with a vocalist that has cleans and growls that sound like they come from the pit of hell you'll like Nemophila - If you like a J-pop with cute girls dancing around with a kick ass metal back up band, you'll like Baby Metal - If you like a nu metalcore band that has a singer that goes from a sounding like she's in elementary school to demon possessed, you'll like Hanabie. If you like a great metal band that perfected 80's metal and combined it with some classical music and has a outstanding guitar duo, you'll like Lovebites. Of course these are not the only great all female Japanese metal bands, for some violin there is East of Eden, other great metal bands are Hagane, Aldious, Mary's Blood (on hiatus), Bridear, Fate Gear, Trident and others. For J- Metal that are not all female I'd add Unlucky Morpheus and Galneryus That's if you want to explore further. Have fun.
'Rising' (lyrics - Asami/music - Miyako) is an original lyric song by LOVEBITES from the 'Clockwork Immortality' Album (December 2018). Music critic Andy Thorley (review of the 'Clockwork Immortality' Album, in 'Maximum Volume Music', January 2, 2019): "Because I believe completely in equality, I have tried never to use the words 'female fronted', if I didn’t have to. To be honest, I have always subscribed to the idea that there were only to sorts of music - good and bad - and I couldn’t care less about the gender of the person singing the thing. Which is why the press details for Lovebites second record unfortunately has to make great play about them being all-female. 'Described as' Japan’s Iron Maidens' by Classic Rock' says its first line. It also says: “And soon became the first all-female metal act to play the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air in the UK, as well as the first to perform at German heavy metal festival Wacken Open Air.” 'Clockwork Immortality' is brilliant. Genuinely stunning. A quite marvellous heavy metal record from the off. Metal in truest sense - from the acoustic slow burn of 'Addicted', which when it gets going sees the drums absolutely thunder (Haruna, behind the kit is in mighty form throughout) while the chorus is of a soaring variety and probably would make Dragonforce just a little bit jealous. Oh and the solo (and by God, they’ve all got solos) is awesome too. 'Pledge Of The Saviour' adds a bit of classicism, but there is a crushing feel to the guitars here from Midori and Miyako - and if you’re thinking Murray and Smith when you hear this, you weren’t alone. 'Rising' is full on power metal and it is ashamed of nothing, and the groove on 'Empty Daydream' is like ZZ Top in denim and leather (no joke!) while 'Mastermind 01' gets its hi-tops on for something approaching old school thrash. 'M.D.O' gets bonus points for starting with a solo and some machine gun like riffing, 'Journey To The Other Side' gets its fists up in the air for a good old Saxon-type romp and 'The Final Collision' is one of those metal songs that you thing would sound ace in Game Of Thrones, while 'We Are United' sounds like a Judas Priest title and sonically it knows it too. As if to prove that the ambition here knows no bounds, the collection concludes with its longest thing. 'Epilogue' does more than provide a chance to see the credits roll, though, it is an opportunity for Lovebites to prove one last time that they deserve the accolades, of course, but goodness me, more than that, they are one of the finest metal bands around. 'Clockwork Immortality' means more than just a mere metal record. Lovebites don’t deserve to be almost dismissed as 'Female' anything, but in the context of everything else, this might just be the FINEST METAL ALBUM ever recorded by an ALL- FEMALE BAND."
Check out the live version from Memorial of the Warriors Soul that was released August 28th, 2024. The live version has a bit more feeling to it as does all their live music. If the music video hooks you, the live version will make you addicted (no pun there for the Wolf Pack). Great Intro live songs: Thunder Vengeance from Five of a Kind 2020 Hammer of Wrath from Knocken at Heavens Gate 2023
I'm surprised you didn't see the best comments from Band Maid on there LOL although M&M Midori and Miyako of Lovebites let their instruments and skill do the talking ]:) I wish I had gotten to see their US 4 city tour but I am in the north (PNW) Not Atlanta-Dallas-Los Angeles_San Francisco and have COPD not driving 10 hours to Cali on limited tanks of Oxygen
You should've reacted to the official live video of this song. You'l witness some magic in the clip. ua-cam.com/video/EHcu-zES3-k/v-deo.html BTW, the location is at the tip of Bousou peninsula, Chiba pref., Japan. It is the mouth of Tokyo bay.
Lovebites plays so many different metal styles so before concluding that they are a Power Metal band you need to here some thrash metal by them. Start with Break the Wall: ua-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/v-deo.html
Did your love guitar battles? are best shown in a few songs: Shadowmaker - ua-cam.com/video/Brmoln5Gxus/v-deo.html , When Destinies Align - ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html , Nameless Warrior - ua-cam.com/video/Dl29tiJCbNM/v-deo.html and the live gem Scream for me - ua-cam.com/video/acwkphgzNg8/v-deo.html
Welll, Lovebites is my favorite band period. Now Nemophila is a very, very, very close second. Trident and Hagane are in my top 5 favorite bands, not just of Jmetal but all metal. If you are interested here is a link to my favorite Trident song Ambivalent ua-cam.com/video/yGwWnOSvh5A/v-deo.html and Hagane song Hero Time ua-cam.com/video/-uIGtQNesx0/v-deo.html
Nice! Lovebites, Hanabie, Nemophila, Babymetal. Certainly 4 of the big ones. This is one of Lovebites more Powermetal tracks. They do various subgenres. Next might be fun to do one of their thrash tracks. Live is, almost, always better. Here are a few options for some of their harder stuff. LOVEBITES / The Hammer Of Wrath [Official Live Video taken from "Knockin' At Heaven's Gate"] ua-cam.com/video/pHrWRT0Jeac/v-deo.html LOVEBITES / Soldier Stands Solitarily [Official Live Video from "Memorial For The Warrior Souls"] ua-cam.com/video/30yWisiRBuM/v-deo.html LOVEBITES / Holy War [Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020] ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.html LOVEBITES / Set The World On Fire [Live from "Ride For Vengeance Tour 2021"] ua-cam.com/video/99zsH6iG_6c/v-deo.html LOVEBITES - Break The Wall - Live at Zepp DiverCity Tokyo 2020 ua-cam.com/video/5Pc0XK0lNmU/v-deo.html They also have more Powermetal, thrash, ballads, prog etc. Haruna on the drums just double bass's her way through 90 minute concerts non stop. She is a machine! Midori and Miyako on guitar, both switch lead and rhythm, and can shred like nothing else! Miho on the bass here, she left a while ago and in their newer stuff it's Fami on Bass. Both very strong bassists. And Asami with the vocals killing it. If you want another really fun Japanese metal band, try Broken By The Scream. I kind of think of them as a bit like Hanabie + LOTS of drugs, only in terms of sound, very different band make up. Broken By The Scream - Sayonara Birthday ua-cam.com/video/Q8qOH-f6doM/v-deo.html
@@HeadbangHarbor No worries. I edited my comment to add a specific suggestion for Broken By The Scream with a link as I realised I forgot, just in case you missed it due to seeing the original comment before the edit!
Lovebites Queens of Metal..60+ songs of amazement !.. for harsh vocals check out another amazing band from Japan..all girl called Nemophila song "Oiran" Live..
Let's see, where would you hear Lovebites? How about Wacken (First all-female Japanese band to play there), Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Rock Imperium and Hellfest to name a few. They've played all the major European festivals, something you can't say about any of the other J-Metal bands you've listened to, with the possible exception of Babymetal.
they can play powermetal, but they´re not just a powermetal band. next one: "the hammer of wrath live 2023" from their official channel. a thrasher, that will melt your face off. a perfect mix of phenomenal technical skills and pure rock'n'roll energy and fun ...
sounds like you need to hear some Iron Maiden and Judas Preist where their Bass/Founder found inspiration being a Steve Harris fan Asami coming from singing R&B may have been exposed to both Iron Maiden from Miho and Bruce Dickinsin and Helloween Haruna drummer co-founder huge fan,
"Let me know if there are any other J=Metal bands...." BWAH-HA-HA-HA-HA! Ok, you asked for it. Here is THE LIST (this will take two posts because the comments section has a size limit): Japan has had an active all-girl rock and metal scene since at least 1981. This is a starter list of all-female (or in eight cases, mixed gender) metal, punk, hard-rock and post-rock bands, with founding dates where I know them. It's alphabetical, except for the first three, which are at the top of the list for historical reasons. They set the table for the explosion of Japanese female hard-rock, punk and metal bands. Note: I have tried to pick clips that are high quality and are representative of the band's style. If you put the question out there, you are likely to get suggestions mainly for Aldious, Band-Maid, Babymetal, Lovebites, Nemophila, Unlucky Morpheus and Wagakki Band. (If you area long-time listener or reviewer you have undoubtedly heard many of these). You can’t go wrong with any of them, but find time to check out more of the bands on this list. They are all worth the time and deserve the love, and many will really surprise you. My personal favorites include Asterism, Bridear, Doll$Boxx/Gacharic Spin, existTtrace, Hagane, Hanabie, Mary’s Blood, Sokoninaru and Tricot. Ok, the list: Show-Ya (1981) The original female J-metal band, founded before Metallica-this is from their 24th (!) anniversary concert-and they are still touring. They have a strong Deep Purple vibe, and in my view they belong in any rock or music hall of fame. “I am the Storm” ua-cam.com/video/oJ_5Gv3vFjQ/v-deo.html Shonen Knife (1981) The world’s first bubblegum punk band. They have done several world tours, and opened for Nirvana, who were big fans. They also perform as a Ramones tribute band called Osaka Ramones. ua-cam.com/video/w9LUlYzOiWs/v-deo.html Destrose (2005) This band was never stable, but has become almost mythic in metal history, because they spun off so many great bands, including Lovebites--you will recognize the drummer and bassist. Here are two clips-a lot of them get taken down so please let me know if either of these is dead: ua-cam.com/video/JpyzVlPJC2g/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/e-CH-FLS2kM/v-deo.html (This cuts off just after Narumi’s guitar solo-but they didn’t cut that, and it’s gorgeous.) Aldious (2008) Glamorous and kick-ass rockers. One of the first generation all-girl metal bands, along with Destrose. ua-cam.com/video/sfkJT0rra-8/v-deo.html Asterism (2013) Power trio that will melt your face off. Guitarist Haruka Noma is off the charts talented and just turned 21. ua-cam.com/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/v-deo.html Babymetal (2010) The flagship “Kawaii metal” band and the most well-known Japanese metal act outside of Japan. Combining “Kawaii” (cute) Japanese pop tropes over thunderous heavy metal backing from Kami Band. ua-cam.com/video/cK3NMZAUKGw/v-deo.html Band-Maid (2013) OK, there are 160+ great songs by them. Easily the best known band on this list other than Babymetal, they are more hard rock and prog than metal. Did a 14 city US tour in 2022 that sold out 48 hours after being listed, and a 2023 global 10th anniversary tour. There is a ton of fan footage of that tour up on youtube, a lot of which is great stuff. Here is a live clip: ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html Bridear (2011) Heavy, technical, and their tiny bassist also growls. They are releasing a new album in June 2024 that is a real killer. This is from their original lineup: ua-cam.com/video/LQIDqudG_DQ/v-deo.html Cyntia (2011) Second wave, hard, heavy, but with prog and symphonic touches. ua-cam.com/video/FnhObh5i_3U/v-deo.html D-Drive (2009) Instrumental progressive metal and fusion; Mixed gender. Extraordinary, technical dual lead guitars featuring Yuki and Seiji) Here is a one of my favorites, a gorgeous, moody jazz-blues-prog fusion number: ua-cam.com/video/m5G3nXJtSzQ/v-deo.html Disqualia (2015) Destrose spin-out, featuring Narumi, one of the best guitarists of this generation, and Hazuki, then an up-and-coming talent who is now the lead guitarist of Nemophila. ua-cam.com/video/-M5zBKrTJRg/v-deo.html Doll$Boxx (2012) Wild mix of metal, electropop, and god-knows what else; a collaboration between Fuki, best-known as the co-founder of Unlucky Morpheus, and Gacharic Spin. ua-cam.com/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/v-deo.html East of Eden (2023) Supergroup assembled by Ayasa, the fabulous violinist whose day job is with Morphonica, one of the BangDream projects. Guitar: Yuki from D-Drive; Drums: Mizuki from Lonesome Blue; Bass: Wakazaemon, from Marty Friedman’s band; Vocals: Minato Akane, from Predia) “Evolve” ua-cam.com/video/gL2GQWhJaNQ/v-deo.html existTtrace (2003) Best-known female Visual Kei band. Progressive, technical, some death-metal and goth touches) They have kept their original lineup intact for 20 years and counting. ua-cam.com/video/Oz1Lv8XGBF0/v-deo.html Fate Gear (2015) Super-group, one of the Destrose spinouts-continually changing lineup built around Mina (g) and (with occasional detours) Erica (b); I consider this video one of the best on this list: ua-cam.com/video/tLQbsoKQN-0/v-deo.html Gacharic Spin (2009) Founded by two high school classmates, Hana (Dr, Vo, multiple instruments) and Koga (B) who had already been in other bands (and was previously a lingerie model). Everything from punk-pop to heavy metal and progressive; highly technical. Here is their first video, with original singer Armmy (d. 2015): ua-cam.com/video/vfzIt20_xXg/v-deo.html Gallhammer (2003) Black/Death/Doom/Punk; this is from their 2007 UK/Europe tour; co-founder Vivien Slaughter is now making electronic ambient music(!) ua-cam.com/video/2fTiyOO1nZE/v-deo.html Galmet (2006) Straight-up death metal, but in prom dresses. ua-cam.com/video/PnvrOLeRt-I/v-deo.html Ganglion (2010) Metal with a hint of electronica: ua-cam.com/video/q9j4t3Ms-Sg/v-deo.html Hagane (2018) Started with Sakura posting blistering metal guitar covers on youtube while in high-school, and the rest of the girls finding her; full lineup came together in 2019. They broke up in 2023 but have reformed with a new lineup, still built around Sakura, and now featuring the wild and crazy Junna on drums. Here, Sakura does a magical solo using a Phrygian scale at warp speed: ua-cam.com/video/k8NTRJ_yTxY/v-deo.html Hanabie (2019) Kawaii death metal, deathcore, thrash (they jokingly call it “Harajuku-core, after a district in Tokyo famous for exuberant youth culture). Technical. Most frequent comment is “That’s nuts.” One of the bands to watch over the next few years, they played three North American festivals in 2023 and are continuing to tour. ua-cam.com/video/G18yyvPCiTM/v-deo.html Kakumei (2013--see Trident, below) Koiai/Lisa-X Band (2013) Prodigy guitarist Lisa-X and a rotating cast of fellow bandmembers, often including Hazuki (of Disqualia and Nemophila). Lisa-X formed her first band in 2013 at the age of eight. She has done collaborations with a host of top musicians including Polyphia, Saki, Yuki (of D-Drive) and Billy Sheehan. ua-cam.com/video/mN_oLqTka6M/v-deo.html After original vocalist Rina left the band, they rebranded as Koiai. Lonesome Blue (2021) Progressive rock, pop-metal fusion. This was Narumi’s (see below) long-awaited new band; unfortunately, she parted ways with them after only one album. This song is a wild fusion of classic Disco with Metal: ua-cam.com/video/aEdyEEnMTy8/v-deo.html Lovebites (2016) Modern Power, Speed, Thrash and Heavy Metal. Already making a global splash, melodic but brain-meltingly technical. Here is their most famous official MV-it’s even better than Shadowmaker IMO: “When Destinies Align” ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html
Watch LOVEBITES live bro, live songs Judgement Day, Soldier Stand Solidarity, Stand And Deliver, Set The World On Fire, Break The Wall, Raise Some Hell, Scream For Me, Holy War....they just did live shows in USA September 2024 You want harsh vocal...check out NEMOPHILA live songs ZEN, AMA TE RAS, Seize The Fate, Rise, Revive, Dissension, Raitei.... HANABIE songs We Love Sweets*****, Be The GAL****, Pardon Me****, MAXIMUM THE HORMON songs Koi No Sperm, Alien....
This is an interesting song to start with. Yes, it's a great song, as are most of their songs. When it comes to Lovebites, everyone will recommend watching them live. I suggest The Hammer of Wrath from the Knockin at Heavens Gate tour, Swan Song with the Chopin intro, and Set the World on Fire. I'm 71 and these ladies are one of the best bands I've ever heard.
Welcome to the wonderful world of Lovebites, these Goddess's of metal are so much more than power metal they have the ability to melt your face and soothe you back to normality all in one song. I'll let the Wolfpack 🐺 guide you through the forest of Lovebites amazing music ENJOY Regards Wolfpack 🐺 UK 🤘🎸🥁🎤🎹🎶🔥🤯🤘
Lovebites is a unique heavy metal band - playing NWOBHM metal combined with power metal and thrash metal. You happened to choose one of their calmer songs (FYI - it isn't in their top ten, so not sure why you thought it was one of their most popular songs). Now try something much heavier like "Break the Wall" or "The Hammer of Wrath".
who's the best ? as usual it's all a matter of opinion. if you want a choreographed idol group backed by a metal band then it's BABYMETAL for you. if you want a great hard rock band with a bit of punk flavor and a bit of metal then BAND MAID will rule your WORLD. metal with screams and growls ? NEMOPHILA. then of course if you are looking for a band that can play ANYTHING - especially power , thrash and heavy metal with clean operatic vocals look no further than LOVEBITES. not to mention the fact that their twin lead guitar attack with midori and miyako is second to none and will go down in musical history as one of the best guitar duos ever. watching them live will help you make up your mind as they are flawless. try the live mv for 'set the world on fire'. can't tell who gets my vote , eh ? !
When people say band X is the "best" band, 99.9% of the time, they just mean that it their personal favourite band. (note: Baby Metal isn't a band - they are an idol group of singers/dancers supported by Kami Band). But if by "best", you mean in terms of musicianship, then it is no contest - LOVEBITES are without question the most talented. In my judgement, they are in the top 3 metal bands on the planet - along with Dream Theater and Symphony-X. As good as their music videos are, you really need to see their live videos to appreciate just how talented they are. Also, this is on the tamer side for them, so you might want to check out some of their heavier songs if you like that sort of thing.
This is the best band on the planet right now......PERIOD!! You only have 80+ tracks to respond to, everyone better than the last, forget any other j rock band these ladies are undoubtedly the best! Most unique, most talented, every single song/arrangement is superb. And obviously they're beauty. Absolutely superb. The best live band I've ever seen/heard in my 65yrs. You ain't heard nothing yet!! Welcome to the wolfpack!
An uplifting song, easy listening, and in general gives feel good vibes, but it' doesn't really show the true power of what makes lovebites so different, and unique, and just why they have so much love and loyalty from the wolfpack 🐺. In general most people's first encounter with them is 'Holy War', link below. It's a very good indicator of what makes them stand out, especially when live! I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. But it's your channel and your choice.🤘🎤🎹🎸🥁🐺 ua-cam.com/video/bgAxpEpEcno/v-deo.htmlsi=4oaszsA8jkVXKrMT
M&M take turns Leading and ryhthm they both can do all and Miyako also does a majority of the piano being classically trained and Composes a majority of the music and Asami write the Lyrics in english
For me, part of the reason you get so many fans lording their favourite J Metal band, is because the west is not producing bands of the same quality, male or female. I know that is a huge generalisation but if you penetrate deeper and further into female Japanese metal/rock bands, you will continue to be satisfied. Lovebites can perform these songs live to such a high degree. Plus they don't just stand there are play a carbon copy of the studio audio.
they made a cover of Painkiller ( Judas Priest). there, Asami if showing a harder voice even it still not growl. but before checking the covers they made ( only 2 ), there is so many amazing songs they composed.
I don’t think „Rising“ is among their 20 most popular songs. But still a very good song, especially the live versions from 2020 and 2023. Much more impressive compared to the MV. Especially when Miyako, the dark haired guitarist, changes seemlessly between guitar and piano for the slower middle part.
Generally, Lovebites is best seen live. Here are some suggestions * Holy War (official live in zepp divercity 2020) * The Hammer of Wrath (official live 2023) * Soldier stands solitarily (official live 2023) * A frozen serenade (official live) * Break the wall (official live) * Set the world on fire (official live) * Shadowmaker (official MV) * ... so many more!
Let's say that regrettably some of the less intelligent UA-cam listeners of those bands engage in such popularity contest nonsense. It's pure childish tribalism. In reality, bands just want to do what they want to do, i.e. they're not trying for the same thing as the others, so where's the competition? Besides, all those bands know each other and get along well. Lovebites members have been to Band-Maid concerts, there are group selfies Lovebites/Nemophila and Lovebites/Babymetal etc. Any "competition" there is is only in some idiots' heads. No professional musician would see it that way. Dynazty are from Sweden.
@@oliphant2848 Thanks for the info. I didn't know that. Were the ladies from LOVEBITES and ROLLING QUARTZ able to talk after the concert? Real professionals treat each other with respect.
I saw them at The Garage London on July 1st, live is the only way to go with these metal Princesses they are phenomenal, each one a virtuoso. If you want a big brain hit then stick this title in the search bar and check it out, 195bpm shredder, you will not be disappointed🤘 > LOVEBITES / Soldier Stands Solitarily [Official Live Video from "Memorial For The Warrior Souls"]
Thanks for the reaction this is the best metal band I ever heard in the last two decades. They haven't rhythm guitarist . Both Miyako and Midori are lead. This band playing everything from power, trash, prog, hard, metal and ballads. I recommend the song Set the world on fire live version from the Ride for vengeance tour in Tokyo 2021. Also Nemophila had some interview and they were questioning what they think about Lovebites and the answer was - a Lovebites they are on another level. Enjoy
LOVEBITES are absolutely ORIGINAL. Best HEAVY METAL band. ASAMI sing, MIYAKO solo guitar, MIDORI solo guitar, HARUNA drummer, Miho bass, NEW bassist beautiful young FAMI from 2022.
The Drummer HARUNA is 4.9 that's why the others members give her the nickname of LITTLE BIG ENGINE every nickname you will tell by the fans are given by LOVEBITES members. ASAMI the Vocalist is the "One & only voice". HARUNA the drummer is" little big engine" MIYAKO ( dark hair) lead guitar & piano is "the golden touch" MIDORI ( blonde hair) lead guitar & Spanish Guitar is " Crazy Shredder" FAMI bassist ( arrived in 2022) is Shinning fingers. MIHO ex bassist (left in 2021) in present in this MV is NATURAL HEADBANGER . MIHO AND HARUNA found LOVEBITES in 2016 after the played together in DESTROSE.
Power metal band? Don't judge by one song. 🤔 Check out Break the Wall. Or other Lovebites songs : Thunder Vengeance, The Hammer of Wrath, Set the World on Fire, Winds of Transylvania, M.D.O., Dissonance, Paranoia, Mastermind 01, Where's Identity, The Apocalypse, Dystopia Symphony, Scream for Me, Raise Some Hell, Stand and Deliver (Shoot 'em Down), Dancing with Devil, ect. And your opinion of Lovebites will probably change.😊 Wide range: speed, thrash, prog, neoclassical metal, hard rock, ect.
You're "operatic" feeling during that traverse, stems from their beat-switch from an even beat (2/4, 4/4) to an uneven 3/4 beat - aka a waltz- Though it's not completely uncommon in popular music, yet its usage is still very surprising and changes the mood of the song completely, temporarily. It makes for a great accent on top of a great song and calls for the attention of the audience.
Absolutely my favorite band of all time. This is a really uplifting song. They go much harder than this, if you want (but also have some amazing ballads) and they are also much, much better live. The live version of this from 2020 is amazing. I recommend Solider Stands Solitarily, Set the World on Fire, Break the Wall. Plenty to choose from, if you’d like to hear a harder style. Things like Thunder Vengeance and Break the Wall are straight up thrash. The talent is through the roof but one thing you won’t find is harsher vocal technique. Asami has a classical voice and a lot of power, but doesn’t really do distortion. She gets a little bit on rare occasions.

They announced in Jan. 2024 that they will go inactive at the end of the year. This song was originally written for a virtual (AI) singer, referred to as a Vocaloid: ua-cam.com/video/Q2meWkWqc-I/v-deo.html Yōsei Teikoku (1997) Rock-Folk-Metal-Electronica fusion ensemble. Set in a fictional Fairy Empire, led by founder Yui, they have done a lot of anime themes and sound-tracks and also perform original songs live, in character. ua-cam.com/video/_EeYxtAeaX4/v-deo.html There are many more. Others that come to mind are BRATS (cofounded by one of the members of Ladybaby), Drop’s, Stereopony, Scandal (still touring globally), and Princess Princess, which all tend more in the pop direction. On the metal side, there are the Bang-Dream projects, which are live groups based on Manga series (there are 9 bands so far in Bang-Dream). And of course, there are other female-fronted Kawaii-metal groups like Ladybaby and Ironbunny, to name the two best-known after Babymetal. I have found listings of over 600 such bands dating back to 1980. The ones listed above are my picks as the most interesting for reasons of quality, longevity or historical impact. If you find others you think belong on this list, please let me know. And if you find a dead link, also please let me know so I can fix the list. Thank you!
Japanese metal is on an incredible roll, especially the women, who are kicking ass on an epic scale. Another great band you should check out is Bridear. Founded in 2011, they were in the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands. They have the classic twin-lead attack and technical rhythm section. They have gone through some changes but have always kept their hard, heavy, technical sound. Their tiny bassist even does death growls! They just released their new album "Born Again" on June 28 and it’s a banger. BURRN is calling it a masterpiece. Metal Hammer compares them to Lovebites. They have posted two video singles from the album: “Still Burning” ua-cam.com/video/v7UOTBAtJh0/v-deo.html and “Cult” ua-cam.com/video/ohFf1pwwoz0/v-deo.html. They have also posted the audio of the title song from the album: ua-cam.com/video/H3Yrr7Ssk54/v-deo.html; and a third video is on its way!
If you want to understand the SECRET of the UNIVERSE, LOVEBITES is the CLUE. The Universe is made of only 3 things : ENERGY, VIBRATION, FREQUENCY. Lovebites music compositons are made same as the Universe - they are ENERGY VIBRATING at different MELODY HARMONICS of FREQUENCIES.....
One, this is one of their older songs. But I don't know if it's one of their more popular songs now. Two, it's actually two lead guitar players that one of the plays rhythm at times during a song. Three, LoveBites needs to be seen live. They have tons of live stuff to choose from.
I think you shall take a look at BAND-MAID. Not really a metal band, rather hard rock or hard prog rock. But they are good. And all female. And Japanese.
スクリームを使う 日本の女性メタルバンドでは BRIDEAR と FATE GEAR をお勧めします。メタルアイドルでは PassCode と Broken By The Scream をお勧めします。 For Japanese female metal bands using Scream, I recommend BRIDEAR and FATE GEAR. For metal idols, I recommend PassCode and Broken By The Scream.
probably best chick group of all time. spellbound, dancing with the devil (girl power metal 😜), holy war, break the wall, set the world on fire, and so many more excellent songs, and most of them better than "Rising" IMO. RABBIT HOLE THIS WAY👉👉👉 one of their most epically beautiful songs "the unbroken" with lyrics. Asami, proving why she's the undisputed Queen of Heavy Metal ua-cam.com/video/jNPWqLOCdQA/v-deo.html
the best is their not just power metal, they do thrash, speed, ballads, some very original transitions, but they're far better live, take the test to try to find a bad lovebites song!
Bro, forget about any other japanese band, forget about any other metal band in general. Lovebites is what makes metal badass today. Heavy metal, power metal, thrash, ballads-they do it all and destroy it live like nobody else. Follow the suggestions and enjoy in best metal band in the world today. You aint see nothing yet
A band WITHOUT a rhythm guitarist - just two of the best lead guitarists on the planet - and this is fairly tame and simple by their incredible standards . As with the majority of Japanese bands they are so much better live ! You'll doubtless get many song recommendations in the comments - but whichever you decide to go with you won't be disappointed - just impressed and amazed ! ENJOY !
congratulations, you have just discovered the best band on the planet ! 😀
metal + grace + elegance + beauty + sympathy + great musicians + great songs = LOVEBITES !!!
Love Lovebites 🐺🤘🏴 Above all others. Thank u
LOVEBITES - Rising lyrics:
Failure or pride? The fear deep inside
Success doesn't come with a few empty tries
Fortune and fame, seem easy to claim
But those who've succeeded defeated the pain
Why give up on a life that you love?
Play the game with no shame till the very end
RISE AGAIN - though you're broken and scarred...
You can choose, not to lose, you can build it again!
DON'T LET GO - of what's deep in your heart
You are free to fly, go and change your destiny!
Too late to change? The past will remain
But it's up to you to decide on a name
Glory is not what miracles brought
The path you have taken will lead you the way
Why give up on a life that you love?
Play the game with no shame till the very end
LIVE AGAIN - with the vows in your heart
Even if you get lost in the darkest of nights
DON'T FORGET - that you've made it this far
Show your scars with pride and believe your history...
Sometimes we can't see the light anywhere
Sometimes we don't have our luck in the air
Almost like we've been left by ourselves
I'm alone, you're alone, somewhere in the world
But open your arms, look up and you will see an endless blue sky
l believe, you believe, we will live out today
So it leads to tomorrow!
SOLO: midori / miyako / midori / miyako / both
RISE AGAIN - though you're broken and scarred
You can choose, not to lose, you can build it again
DON'T LET GO - of what's deep in your heart
You are free to fly, rise above your fate!
LIVE AGAIN - with the vows in your heart
Even if you get lost in the darkest of nights
DON'T FORGET - that you've made it this far
You are free to fly, go and change your destiny!

LOVEBITES
They are listened not only by metalheads. Ladies came out of their metal genre and have wider spectrum of fans.
They play Eclectic Metal. It means they blend as the first band in history all kind of metal mainly power and thrash with NWOBHM,
heavy metal, symphonic metal, speed metal, hair metal, hard rock, rock, rock'n'roll, jazz, progressive pieces, funk and even punk.

"WE ARE LOVEBITES AND WE PLAY HEAVYYYY METAAAAL!!!"
Stay safe. Stay Lovebites.
Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥
Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna.
The band members of LOVEBITES are (including their official nicknames)
Asami on vocals (the one and only voice):
She has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer
Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch):
She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, furthermore she is a gear nerd
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, has contributed to songwriting for a few of their songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Plays very fast pace over long distances, she is very efficient and her stamina is admirable, the cymbal work is outstanding, she also wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop
Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger):
We will never forget her, she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3
Grüße aus Wilhelmshaven :)
Wolfpack here!🐺
Welcome to the world of Lovebites!🤘
Next try they song "We are the ressurection"
Here is the link for When Destinies Align - ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html
My introduction to Jinjer was with the mv for the song Teacher, Teacher!, which is still my favorite Jinjer song - ua-cam.com/video/oRkRwL0vjOg/v-deo.html
Great reaction ! I'm glad you discover the Lovebites; they will surprise you yet! Let me suggest you some songs I'm sure you enjoy:
"Soldier stands solitarily" (LIVE 2023), maybe the greatest liveperformance of the band
"Break the wall" (LIVE 2020), the most brutal thrash/speed metal song of the band
"Holy war" (LIVE 2020), their most known song on the net
"Judgement day" OMV 2023, title-track of the latest album, epic power metal with insane guitar solos
"Set the world on fire"" (LIVE 2021) pure thrash metal with great guitar solos
"THe hammer of wrath"" (LIVE 2023), epic singing with drums in great evidence
"Stand and deliver" OMV 2023, funny song that shows a different side of the band
"Shadowmaker" OMV 2017, the first great success of the band, with wonderful guitar solos
"We are the resurrection" (LIVE 2023, released a few weeks ago on their channel), memorable epic and fast power metal
"Soul defender" OMV 2024, the latest song published a few days ago.
"Frozen serenade" (LIVE 2021), emotional power ballad that shows the multi-instrumental skills of the band.
"Edge of the world" (LIVE 2023), another superb ballad with an intense guitar solo by Miyako
"Swan song - with Chopin intro"" (LIVE 2020), Great, epic and spectacular
"Unchained" OMV 2024, one of the latest release of the band
"Scream for me" (LIVE 2019) 14 guitar solos!!!
"When destinies allign" OMV 2020, with crazy guitar solos and double guitar solo
"The crusade" OMV 2017, a tribute to Iron Maiden
These are just examples to begin, the Lovebites discography containes about 60 songs, and there isn't a bad song.
The Lovebites formed in 2016 and have published 4 LP and 3 EP. The members you have seen are:
ASAMI, singer, composer and Lyrics maker, called "The one and unique voice"
HARUNA, drummer and founder of the group, an authentic drum-machine, called "little big engine"
MIDORI, guitarist (the blonde) and composer, called "crazy shredder"
MIYAKO, guitarist (the dark haired), pianist, main composer, the genius of the group, called "golden touch"
FAMI, bass player, the youngest and very talented, called "shining fingers"
Fami joined the band in 2022, after the former bassist MIHO (great bass player she also) left the band for personal reasons.
I hope my informations are useful for you, and good trip in the amazing Lovebites' world
Just saw them live in SF last week. Haruna is a mini-beast on drums
That sounds like a dope show!
You’ve just scratched the surface of one of the best metal bands in the world. Their catalog is deep with many other heavy metal gems.
Welcome to the realm of the Wolfpack (Lovebites fans from around the world) ! Lovebites' music is not just power metal, these amazing ladies play a seamless and innovative blend of speed-power/thrash/prog/neoclassical metal/heavy rock/power ballads which makes their sound unique and contemporary. Note that this band is phenomenal LIVE ! For a thrashier tone, check out "The Hammer of Wrath" LIVE : ua-cam.com/video/pHrWRT0Jeac/v-deo.html . Enjoy your Lovebites journey !

You have discovered probably their slower and calm song... check out something harder and faster: "Soldier stands solitarily" or "We have the resurrection", just to listen to the more recent performances, and to have a more correct idea about what the lovebites are!
in fact there is some power ballads that are calmer than Rising. the 3 E songs for exemple ("Empty daydream","Edge of the world","Epilogue").
one of the uplifting track... 😊
thanks for the reaction. 😊
This is more Epic live from Memorial for the Warrior Souls with new bassist Fami and also Asami holds notes on other songs like Edge of the World where again Guitarist Miyako starts on Piano
FYI - Midori and Miyako are duel LEAD guitarists in Lovebites.
Yeppers
This is one of their calmer songs.
Yep, they go MUCH harder. No harsh vocals though.
That's always good news 😈
@@HeadbangHarbor Bridear Still Burning not the vocalist but the Bassist is a growler
@@HeadbangHarbor For example, please check LOVEBITES - Thunder Vengeance (nice trash metal song... it is much harder)
Thanks for reacting to my favorite band! Hope you enjoy the other 60 songs they have, every one of them is awesome. 🤘🐺🤘
This is pretty tame for them, if you want heavier, Set the world on Fire, Thunder Vengeance, Break the Wall, Soldier Stands Solitarily, We are the Resurrection.
Thank you for the suggestions!
Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the basist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is 'new girl' Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string)
The present members are,
Asami, Vocals and Piano.
If you enjoyed this song, here are a few recommendations for further listening
Break The Wall,
Soldier Stand Solitary,
Golden Destination (there is a video that has footage from their 2019 tour of the UK with Dragon Force, including Herman Li as the 'missing sixth member of Lovebites' wearing a white dress)
Thunder Vengeance,
M.D.O.,
Scream For Me (live from 'Daughters of the Dawn' "OK Haruna, Give me the beat") For a masterclass in syncronised guitar shredding.
Winds of Transylvania (written for a Japanese Anime series VLADLOVE)
Frozen Serenade,
Swan Song, with the Chopin piano introduction played by Miyako,
Edge of the World,
Epilogue.
- If you like hard hitting metal with a vocalist that has cleans and growls that sound like they come from the pit of hell you'll like Nemophila
- If you like a J-pop with cute girls dancing around with a kick ass metal back up band, you'll like Baby Metal
- If you like a nu metalcore band that has a singer that goes from a sounding like she's in elementary school to demon possessed, you'll like Hanabie.
Have fun.
I second the suggestions for East of Eden, Hagane (the new lineup is insane) and Unlucky Morpheus.
'Rising' (lyrics - Asami/music - Miyako) is an original lyric song by LOVEBITES from the 'Clockwork Immortality' Album (December 2018).
Music critic Andy Thorley (review of the 'Clockwork Immortality' Album, in 'Maximum Volume Music', January 2, 2019):
"Because I believe completely in equality, I have tried never to use the words 'female fronted', if I didn’t have to.
It also says: “And soon became the first all-female metal act to play the main stage of Bloodstock Open Air in the UK, as well as the first to perform at German heavy metal festival Wacken Open Air.”
'Clockwork Immortality' is brilliant.
Great Intro live songs:
Thunder Vengeance from Five of a Kind 2020
Hammer of Wrath from Knocken at Heavens Gate 2023
lovebites are the best metal band period not just japan!
Thanks for reacting to Lovebites! They have many songs, most of them heavier stuff. I'd suggest you Hammer or wrath (Live) and Shadowmaker (Mv).

1. Lovebites
2. Nemophila
3. Baby Metal
4. Hanabie
Yeah, and i would insert the not mentioned Unlucky Morpheus maybe at #2

Lovebites plays so many different metal styles so before concluding that they are a Power Metal band you need to here some thrash metal by them. Start with Break the Wall:

60 songs to go - all great. Enjoy and share.
The best metal band in 3 decades. Dig more bro. Try their song When Destiny Align MV version.. 👍

Lovebites, Hanabie, Nemophila, Babymetal. Certainly 4 of the big ones.
This is one of Lovebites more Powermetal tracks. They do various subgenres. Next might be fun to do one of their thrash tracks. Live is, almost, always better.

They also have more Powermetal, thrash, ballads, prog etc.

@@guitarzen5999 I meant in other media such as film, video games, radio etc. more of exposure to the genre.
they can play powermetal, but they´re not just a powermetal band. next one: "the hammer of wrath live 2023" from their official channel. a thrasher, that will melt your face off. a perfect mix of phenomenal technical skills and pure rock'n'roll energy and fun ...
Lovebites это богини тяжёлого металла спустившиеся с небес, что бы радовать нас своим Wolfpack здесь!!!🤘🐺🤘
sounds like you need to hear some Iron Maiden and Judas Preist where their Bass/Founder found inspiration being a Steve Harris fan Asami coming from singing R&B may have been exposed to both Iron Maiden from Miho and Bruce Dickinsin and Helloween Haruna drummer co-founder huge fan,
"Let me know if there are any other J=Metal bands...." BWAH-HA-HA-HA-HA! Ok, you asked for it. Here is THE LIST (this will take two posts because the comments section has a size limit):
Japan has had an active all-girl rock and metal scene since at least 1981.
Ok, the list:
Show-Ya (1981) The original female J-metal band, founded before Metallica-this is from their 24th (!) anniversary concert-and they are still touring. They have a strong Deep Purple vibe, and in my view they belong in any rock or music hall of fame. “I am the Storm” ua-cam.com/video/oJ_5Gv3vFjQ/v-deo.html
Shonen Knife (1981) The world’s first bubblegum punk band. They have done several world tours, and opened for Nirvana, who were big fans. They also perform as a Ramones tribute band called Osaka Ramones. ua-cam.com/video/w9LUlYzOiWs/v-deo.html
Destrose (2005) This band was never stable, but has become almost mythic in metal history, because they spun off so many great bands, including Lovebites--you will recognize the drummer and bassist. Here are two clips-a lot of them get taken down so please let me know if either of these is dead:
ua-cam.com/video/JpyzVlPJC2g/v-deo.html
ua-cam.com/video/e-CH-FLS2kM/v-deo.html
(This cuts off just after Narumi’s guitar solo-but they didn’t cut that, and it’s gorgeous.)
Aldious (2008) Glamorous and kick-ass rockers. One of the first generation all-girl metal bands, along with Destrose. ua-cam.com/video/sfkJT0rra-8/v-deo.html
Asterism (2013) Power trio that will melt your face off. Guitarist Haruka Noma is off the charts talented and just turned 21. ua-cam.com/video/IfxMi0Bx4x0/v-deo.html
Babymetal (2010) The flagship “Kawaii metal” band and the most well-known Japanese metal act outside of Japan. Combining “Kawaii” (cute) Japanese pop tropes over thunderous heavy metal backing from Kami Band. ua-cam.com/video/cK3NMZAUKGw/v-deo.html
Band-Maid (2013) OK, there are 160+ great songs by them. Here is a live clip: ua-cam.com/video/FHpuEqMAcDg/v-deo.html
Bridear (2011) Heavy, technical, and their tiny bassist also growls. They are releasing a new album in June 2024 that is a real killer. This is from their original lineup: ua-cam.com/video/LQIDqudG_DQ/v-deo.html
Cyntia (2011) Second wave, hard, heavy, but with prog and symphonic touches.
ua-cam.com/video/FnhObh5i_3U/v-deo.html
D-Drive (2009) Instrumental progressive metal and fusion; Mixed gender. Extraordinary, technical dual lead guitars featuring Yuki and Seiji) Here is a one of my favorites, a gorgeous, moody jazz-blues-prog fusion number: ua-cam.com/video/m5G3nXJtSzQ/v-deo.html
Disqualia (2015) Destrose spin-out, featuring Narumi, one of the best guitarists of this generation, and Hazuki, then an up-and-coming talent who is now the lead guitarist of Nemophila. ua-cam.com/video/-M5zBKrTJRg/v-deo.html
Doll$Boxx (2012) Wild mix of metal, electropop, and god-knows what else; a collaboration between Fuki, best-known as the co-founder of Unlucky Morpheus, and Gacharic Spin. ua-cam.com/video/mu2z4Uf9Tgc/v-deo.html
East of Eden (2023) Supergroup assembled by Ayasa, the fabulous violinist whose day job is with Morphonica, one of the BangDream projects. Guitar: Yuki from D-Drive; Drums: Mizuki from Lonesome Blue; Bass: Wakazaemon, from Marty Friedman’s band; Vocals: Minato Akane, from Predia) “Evolve” ua-cam.com/video/gL2GQWhJaNQ/v-deo.html
existTtrace (2003) Best-known female Visual Kei band. Progressive, technical, some death-metal and goth touches) They have kept their original lineup intact for 20 years and counting. ua-cam.com/video/Oz1Lv8XGBF0/v-deo.html
Fate Gear (2015) Super-group, one of the Destrose spinouts-continually changing lineup built around Mina (g) and (with occasional detours) Erica (b); I consider this video one of the best on this list: ua-cam.com/video/tLQbsoKQN-0/v-deo.html
Gacharic Spin (2009) Founded by two high school classmates, Hana (Dr, Vo, multiple instruments) and Koga (B) who had already been in other bands (and was previously a lingerie model). Everything from punk-pop to heavy metal and progressive; highly technical. Here is their first video, with original singer Armmy (d. 2015): ua-cam.com/video/vfzIt20_xXg/v-deo.html
Gallhammer (2003) Black/Death/Doom/Punk; this is from their 2007 UK/Europe tour; co-founder Vivien Slaughter is now making electronic ambient music(!) ua-cam.com/video/2fTiyOO1nZE/v-deo.html
Galmet (2006) Straight-up death metal, but in prom dresses. ua-cam.com/video/PnvrOLeRt-I/v-deo.html
Ganglion (2010) Metal with a hint of electronica:
ua-cam.com/video/q9j4t3Ms-Sg/v-deo.html
Hagane (2018) Started with Sakura posting blistering metal guitar covers on youtube while in high-school, and the rest of the girls finding her; full lineup came together in 2019. They broke up in 2023 but have reformed with a new lineup, still built around Sakura, and now featuring the wild and crazy Junna on drums. Here, Sakura does a magical solo using a Phrygian scale at warp speed:
ua-cam.com/video/k8NTRJ_yTxY/v-deo.html
Hanabie (2019) Kawaii death metal, deathcore, thrash (they jokingly call it “Harajuku-core, after a district in Tokyo famous for exuberant youth culture). Technical. Most frequent comment is “That’s nuts.” One of the bands to watch over the next few years, they played three North American festivals in 2023 and are continuing to tour. ua-cam.com/video/G18yyvPCiTM/v-deo.html
Kakumei (2013--see Trident, below)
Koiai/Lisa-X Band (2013) Prodigy guitarist Lisa-X and a rotating cast of fellow bandmembers, often including Hazuki (of Disqualia and Nemophila).
This song is a wild fusion of classic Disco with Metal: ua-cam.com/video/aEdyEEnMTy8/v-deo.html
Lovebites (2016) Modern Power, Speed, Thrash and Heavy Metal. Already making a global splash, melodic but brain-meltingly technical. Here is their most famous official MV-it’s even better than Shadowmaker IMO: “When Destinies Align” ua-cam.com/video/hLFelI93VkM/v-deo.html

You need to see their other stuff to. Check out "Set the world on fire" and "Holy War".
who's the best ? as usual it's all a matter of opinion. if you want a choreographed idol group backed by a metal band then it's BABYMETAL for you. if you want a great hard rock band with a bit of punk flavor and a bit of metal then BAND MAID will rule your WORLD. metal with screams and growls ? NEMOPHILA. then of course if you are looking for a band that can play ANYTHING - especially power , thrash and heavy metal with clean operatic vocals look no further than LOVEBITES. not to mention the fact that their twin lead guitar attack with midori and miyako is second to none and will go down in musical history as one of the best guitar duos ever. watching them live will help you make up your mind as they are flawless. try the live mv for 'set the world on fire'. can't tell who gets my vote , eh ?
Congratulations! You completed your journey with the best band in the world.

Midori💚💚💚💚💚 Miho💜💜💜💜💜

@@GrayFox14 That's what I mean. It goes beyond borders too: Arem and Jayoung of Rolling Quartz went to see Lovebites in Seoul.
@@GrayFox14 They have what to see and hear.
@@oliphant2848 They have what to see and hear.
@@oliphant2848 Thanks for the info. I didn't know that. Were the ladies from LOVEBITES and ROLLING QUARTZ able to talk after the concert? Real professionals treat each other with respect.
🤘🏼🎸🥁🎤🐺❤️🔥🇯🇵🇮🇹Lovebites no Bad Song’s!!
Enjoy
they are even better live
LOVEBITES are absolutely ORIGINAL. Best HEAVY METAL band. ASAMI sing, MIYAKO solo guitar, MIDORI solo guitar, HARUNA drummer, Miho bass, NEW bassist beautiful young FAMI from 2022.
mi consejo es que todo lo que veas de lovebites lo hagas en directo
The Drummer HARUNA is 4.9 that's why the others members give her the nickname of LITTLE BIG ENGINE every nickname you will tell by the fans are given by LOVEBITES members.
ASAMI the Vocalist is the "One & only voice".
HARUNA the drummer is" little big engine"
MIYAKO ( dark hair) lead guitar & piano is "the golden touch"
MIDORI ( blonde hair) lead guitar & Spanish Guitar is " Crazy Shredder"
FAMI bassist ( arrived in 2022) is Shinning fingers.
Best band on the planet...........PERIOD!! Wait till you hear/see them live!
You ain't seen nothing yet chap!!
You're "operatic" feeling during that traverse, stems from their beat-switch from an even beat (2/4, 4/4) to an uneven 3/4 beat - aka a waltz-
Though it's not completely uncommon in popular music, yet its usage is still very surprising and changes the mood of the song completely, temporarily.
Miho! 🤘🐺🔥
Part II of The List:
Mardelas (2014) Another spin-off from Destrose; mixed male/female; leader Marina Hebiishi has one of the best voices in metal ua-cam.com/video/Wd8P7wTnWJs/v-deo.html
Mary's Blood (2008) The first major Destrose spin-out; Jedi-level lineup. Here, in their most famous video, Saki murders her guitar without breaking any nails: “Marionette” ua-cam.com/video/MLM2unV0kwU/v-deo.html
Maximum the Hormone (1998) Crazy, chaotic mashups of deathcore, nu-metal, pop and high-speed rapping. Co-founder Nao (drums) is the female member of the band. She has been a major influence on female drummers throughout Japan. This clip captures just a bit of the madness: 予襲復讐 (Yoshu Fukushu) ua-cam.com/video/beN5ep5MrdY/v-deo.html
MergingMoon (2010) Mix of prog and melodic death metal. Vocalist U is Japan’s terrifying answer to Tatiana of the Ukrainian metalcore/deathcore band Jinjer. ua-cam.com/video/sIL-vgHNOu0/v-deo.html
Muses (2020) Hard fusion with funk overtones; Supergroup assembled by the guitarist, Rie aka Suzaku, and including Juna Serita, the phenomenal bassist who was previously with Tokyo Groove Jyoshi and is now also with the Jazz Avengers. They absolutely rip.
ua-cam.com/video/exbIYCTQdpo/v-deo.html
Mutant Monster (2008) Punk-pop, really good at it. Unfortunately, they have not been active in some time.
ua-cam.com/video/Fd6ymMR40NU/v-deo.html
Narumi (solo) Prog-rock and fusion compositions-a change of pace from a master guitarist who was once the star lead for Destrose. She was later part of Lonesome Blue, but recently left. I’m sure she will turn up with another band. ua-cam.com/video/cRyCaHjwIgk/v-deo.html
Nemophila: (2019) Supergroup ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu, ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki, ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam. They were founded as a five-piece with dual leads, the other guitarist being former Mary’s Blood shred-master Saki. I’ve seen them live and they are just explosive. Saki left in early 2024. ua-cam.com/video/lh-dVLKP314/v-deo.html
54 Nude Honeys (1992) Early Japanese punk-they toured the UK and Europe, and reports are that their crowds were as crazy as the crowds at Sex Pistols concerts. ua-cam.com/video/jHnJSoGN5Mk/v-deo.html
Otoboke Beaver (2009) In-your-face feminist thrash punk, way out there. They have toured Europe and the U.S.: ua-cam.com/video/fkWfFXnLpYg/v-deo.html
Paranoid Void (2013) Extremely technical prog and math rock, founded by three high-school classmates, maybe the most mind-bending band on this list.) “Ukiyo” ua-cam.com/video/LIP0uf6Lpco/v-deo.html
Rie aka Suzaku (38 y.o.) Instrumental guitar virtuoso. She is also the founder of Muses, a high-intensity fusion band (see above.) ua-cam.com/video/2riBS7MvZvc/v-deo.html
Sokoninaru (2011) Progressive metal, math rock, extremely technical; male/female cofounders)
ua-cam.com/video/MVxl0zXZBR4/v-deo.html
Sonic Lover Reckless (2018) Special project of Miyako Watanabe, one of Lovebites’ two incomparable guitarists) ua-cam.com/video/DXZ-qhxd1VI/v-deo.html
Telecide (2016) Metalcore, aggressive and melodic at the same time. Disbanded; Natsumi, their drummer, is now the drummer for Bridear ua-cam.com/video/keq-7ZCluFc/v-deo.html
Tricot (2010) Post-progressive math-rock, highly technical with crazy time signatures and polyrhythms ua-cam.com/video/P_B_GalsJrE/v-deo.html
Trident (formerly Kakumei, renamed in 2020 with some personnel changes). Evolved from pop-punk to thrashier hard rock; several lineup changes but the bassist and lead singer have been constants) ua-cam.com/video/9k9txMouU34/v-deo.html
Unlucky Morpheus (2008) Female leads Fuki (vo) and Jill (violin). This band is a deep well unto itself, they cross many subgenres of metal; Fuki and Jill also do other projects and Fuki is lead for at least two other bands including Doll$Boxx, above. ua-cam.com/video/PTuWOWF_0r8/v-deo.html
Wagakki Band (2012) Folk-Metal fusion band, all jedi-level musicians, half of them play traditional Japanese instruments and the other half play standard metal instruments. They announced in Jan. 2024 that they will go inactive at the end of the year. This song was originally written for a virtual (AI) singer, referred to as a Vocaloid:
ua-cam.com/video/Q2meWkWqc-I/v-deo.html
Yōsei Teikoku (1997) Rock-Folk-Metal-Electronica fusion ensemble. Set in a fictional Fairy Empire, led by founder Yui, they have done a lot of anime themes and sound-tracks and also perform original songs live, in character.
ua-cam.com/video/_EeYxtAeaX4/v-deo.html
There are many more.
And Japanese.
do some of their thrash songs like set the world on fire ,break the wall, thunder vengence ,holy war,the cusade
スクリームを使う 日本の女性メタルバンドでは BRIDEAR と FATE GEAR をお勧めします。メタルアイドルでは PassCode と Broken By The Scream をお勧めします。
For Japanese female metal bands using Scream, I recommend BRIDEAR and FATE GEAR.
Asami, proving why she's the undisputed Queen of Heavy Metal
ua-cam.com/video/jNPWqLOCdQA/v-deo.html
then Lovebites isn't the right band for hearing growls, they are much too elegant and classy for that crap
the best is their not just power metal, they do thrash, speed, ballads, some very original transitions, but they're far better live, take the test to try to find a bad lovebites song!
Babymetal is not a metal band. They're a pop trio backed up by a metal band.
Bridear
try their live sh@t its even better!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Live one is better
Nemophila tyhe best?!?! Ha,ha, it's your opinion and only yours. Lovebites are much better, dude!!
Thanks for reacting to LOVEBITES - one of the best today's metal bands! Looooove our queens! Cheers🍻🐺🤘🤘🤘
ENJOY !
