Those mobile games are just 😒

Wii balls...a flaccid joke trying too hard and finishing off with an epic guess who's going to drop the balls on it
Was going to try the game, but it leads to the apple app store. As an Android user, that's going to be a hard no from me.
LOL
You posted that picture sometime last year, and I saw the domain was unclaimed so I bought it and forwarded it to your UA-cam channel!
I thought about hosting the original joke on it for preservation but never got around to it.
I forgot about that until I saw the thumbnail for this video!
Love DYKG and the content you make :)
Legend.
That’s what we in the biz refer to as a “pro gamer move”
@outlawabyss I posted a screenshot showing the domain registration date on Twitter, it is true :)
He’s got receipts too!?! Get in here guys we have a bonafide certified legend!!!
Leaving a like for the absolute chad
The cold, direct delivery combined with the joke being "balls" is honestly hilarious
“Seaman”
Seaman’s balls
@@dampking I wish that game didn't exist
If it were Greg narrating this he'd crack up and the rest of the video is him laughing.
Are you kidding me? That was dogshit. :D
American jokes are so fucking obvious.
I think the funniest part of the "turn your GameBoy upside down" gag is that in Pokemon X/Y, that became an actual mechanic, used to evolve Inkay into Malamar.
The only GameBoy game I know of that would do anything if you turn it upside down is Kirby Tilt and Tumble.
@@zachtwilightwindwaker596 There’s a yoshi game as well
@@CrossSockDance Isn't that a GBA game? I was talking about normal Gameboy. Well tilt and tumble was for Gameboy color.
@@zachtwilightwindwaker596 Technically Wario Ware Twisted too, but I don't know if any of the microgames needed you to twist that much.
Now turn your Switch - oops.
Oh my goodness the way "Seaman" was said and emphasized had me dying
Right lol ~Seaman~
Reminds me of an old South Park gag.
@@GabePuratekuta “Thank you for calling City Wok!”
Hastily pushes couch out the door with 4th graders still on it.
“IT’S SEA MAN! SEA MAN!!!! Not semen. As in jizz, splooge, DUDE BAZOOKA JUICE!!!” (AVGN)
So can we get a copy of that Mario Party nude code orr...?
@@HaunterHax23 is it fine tho?
I would like to see the Mario key party.
Why need the nude code when DK is available from the get-go
@@BIastProcX HES NOT NUDE. HE HAS A TIE.
@@BIastProcX Wario
2:00 The Wii Balls killer app being “Mario Party Balls” is already funny enough. But the way he says “balls” and how Wario looks terrified when it says, it kills me every time.
When I show off my Seaman remains I usually get banned from the motel...
A couple of years after Wii Balls, Game Informer did another joke about a new nintendo system called the WiiDs (pronounced "Weeds") that was a combination Wii and DS. It looked like a Wii with two DS screens on the side, and the best part of the joke was that it could only play downloadable titles.
Wayforward once had a running April fools gag with "Catgirl without salad" they marketed it like a real game for years, but it did eventually become a real game.
wait what?
@@bpomatto Wayforward had an annual running gag.
@@Kittenfox_55 oh. i was reading the "eventually became a real game" part and was confused. my bad.
I can see some Pokémon trainer shouting; "Luigi, finish it with Mustache Slap!"
I like how catching lickitongue in an ultra ball is a requirement even though gen 1 and 2 games don’t “record” what ball the Pokémon are in when they get caught
Even better, you can't catch Lickitung in an Ultra Ball at all until Yellow Version, as it's only available in R/B as an in-game trade, and even in Japanese Blue Version it can only be caught in the Safari Zone with a Safari Ball.
The Lickitung hoax evolution method definitely inspired the way you evolve Inkay into Malamar, having to hold the 3DS upside down when you level it up
One Game Infarcer joke I still remember happened during the time the Wii had been announced, but its controller hadn't been revealed yet. The magazine had a fake picture of one, which was just a purple PS2 controller with the four face buttons replaced by one giant green circle that said "DO." To this day, my friends and I still joke about "pressing the Do button."
That explains the DO button in that Batman PS1 game!
really love how the narrator adds emphasis on "Seaman"
Something about saying "no franchise was safe from their tomfoolery" in a serious tone kills me
Man, the thirst for polygons and pixels was hilarious... Now we are more advanced with thirst for HD models in 4k
480p still got me mouth open
"HD models in 4K"
Pick a side.
Jokes on you, 8K and VR are where its at.;)
The fact that "Wii Balls" made me laugh proves my humor is broken
I find it really interesting that the Luigi Evolution joke method would later be the actual way to evolve inkay into malamar
I'm still upset about the Waluigi SM64DS hoax being false. Also, did the Wii Balls mention whether or not they were a choking hazard? And what happens if you drop them?
Well if you dropped your balls you'd definitely break your balls.
You probably shouldn't be playing with balls that haven't been dropped yet, juuuuust saying
You'd end up breaking somebody else's.
They're only a choking hazard for inexperienced gamers.
I had those exact issues of N64 Gamer as a kid, and even I knew those were blatant jokes. God, I even remember the legendary 'N64 vs. PlayStation' feature they had (which was just two guys just hilariously insulting each other) and the editor's unhealthy relationship with his Goldeneye cartridge.
I miss the '90s...
I'm really happy with how you pronounce Seaman. Genuinely thrilled.
If Gen 9 has the Pokémon series reach 999 Pokémon, Yoshi needs to be included.
I remember that I used to own that issue of Game Informer that had the Wii Balls joke. Funnily enough, someone wrote a letter to Game Informer that mentioned that when he was working at GameStop, a customer actually asked if they had the Wii Balls for preorder. XD
I remember as a kid reading the letters sent in to Game Informer, and being surprised people actually fell for the Game Infarcer articles.
Another prank by GI I remember was Oblivion getting a "bathroom update" Where if your character didn't make it to a toilet in time they would crap themselves and NPCs would mock them for it. One of the fake letters claimed thier character was being called "Lord Heavy Pants".
2:38 what a strange transition that will only be used once ever 😂
In France, in the mid 90's, several magazines made a common prank : They published the same news related to the mysterious Enterprise, a console made by Sharp. They made a fake design, it was basically the Enterprise from Star Trek and they teased the killer-app "Fatal Fury vs Street Fighter" with a fake screenshot of Ryu and Joe Higashi fighting against each other. It was pretty cool... and pretty disappointing when, in the next issue, they revealed it was just an april's fool.
I remember my friend showing me the Wii Balls article. I even remembered the exact available colors: Flesh and Blue.
The (possibly unintended?) sexy voice during "but sometimes you just need to wrap your hands around something _meatier._ " had me HOWLING. Wonderful work, y'all. 😂
The april fools hoax where Nintendo said that you could catch a wild Luigi was priceless
Sony pulled a similar hoax to Sega's Seaman with fake bones being discovered for Shadow of the Colossus. It was a website called "Giantology", and was all about a man who was a self-proclaimed "giantologist", researching the discovery of several gigantic skeletons that happened to resemble several of then upcoming PS2 title's colossi. It actually managed to get a lot of attention from news and radio networks, and even got mentioned in some gaming magazines at the time.
Remix speaking sensually about firm, meaty balls isn't something I knew I wanted in my life, but here we are.
The hoax that I found to be the funniest hoax I've even heard has to be the one Pokemon one with Nintendo.
The whole situation is funny. But what makes it funnier, is the fact that the VGMag company was out done by *NINTENDO THEMSELVES.* That is what makes is the funniest.
I was pissed at the Milk commercial cause I couldn't for the life of me figure out how to grow Mario. I looked everywhere for a mushroom or something. Read so many game guides. It wasn't even mentioned.
Ended up learning that ads will lie to you to sell products. Obvious now, but that's the day I learned.
Looks like ‘99 was a good year for April fools.
Never forget the *"revive A-----h"* hoax from 1997's Final Fantasy VII, and the *"unlockable Waluigi"* hoax from 2004's Super Mario 64 DS.
-Did you know, Shigeru Miyamoto died of ligma?
-Who is Steve jobs?
-Wii balls
One of my favorite GameInfarcer Jokes was of Lord of the Rings Kart. They had fake screenshots and everything.
0:56 ah yes goose of tsushima my favorite
I will never forget the Dead or Alive Xtreme Volleyball hoax where you had the beat the game in 13 minutes or less for topless mode. This was on the Official Xbox Magazine April Fool's day magazine lol
I can’t believe people actually fell for the Mario characters in Pokémon and, even worse, the Seaman discovery. The Seaman one being especially ridiculous
This was around the same time Discovery produced a documentary on the existence of mermaids because Shark Week just wasn't scratching that ratings itch like it used to.
@@boobah5643
Mockumentries were just a thing around that time. I mean we had Dragons: a Fantasy Made Real, The Future is Wild, and stuff like that as well. Maybe I'm crazy but even as a kid I understood them as just fun thought experiments.
Totally fell for the EGM hoax where they said if you beat 10 wireframes in Cruel Melee you unlock Sonic and Tails.
Amusingly, the Pokémon Inkay evolves in Malamar when you level it above 30 while holding the 3DS or Switch upside down. I wonder if there's any connection 🤔
Aha
some of my favorite April Fool's jokes were in the GamePro magazine. was hoping you'd cover some, but it's ok that you didn't.
nice video! ✌️
I remember actually seeing Wii balls on a magazine when I was five, never understood why I never saw it anywhere else and felt like it was some Mandela effect, so glad I wasn't being crazy lol
Mario Party Balls
Wario: You want fun? Wario, show you real fun!
I normally skip thru ad reads, and have done so plenty of times on these videos. I decided to listen to the one this time and realized that I actually learned cool things about the game. Dunno if I'll play it, but I liked that.
The whole 'Wii Balls' thing must of been inspired by that old SNL skit, Schweddie Balls, lmfao
"Wii Balls"
it's how dramatically he says it that kills me
Man I loved all of these hoaxes I was honestly laughing the whole video
This video got quite a few laughs out of me. Thanks for the upload, and all of the over-the-top references that you managed to dig up herein!
I honestly got tears coming out my eyes for laughing so hard this is hilarious
1:46 I actually remember this cars game really good on my ps2
But we’re like less than two weeks away from the actual April Fools, why didn’t you release this video on that day to commemorate the best gags…?
Unless you have something even wackier planned for that day? Oo
Did you know that the Nintendo Official Magazine (UK Magazine) use to prank readers that certain games and Nintendo consols will release on late winter?
fun fact: turning you system upside down and leveling a up a Pokemon would become and actual way to evolve a Pokemon years later with the Pokemon Inkay evolving into Malamar.
7:48 That's Mama Luigi to you
When I was a kid, I remember reading one April Fools' Game Informer which had a Wii and DS hybrid called the WiiDS (pronounced weeds.)
0:53 I'm still surprised Team Ninja never pulled that, they even made Other M (most likely the reason behind this joke) or a Zero Suit costume for DOA Dimensions, Rachel would definitely look the part.
To be fair, though certainly not at this level, Valve has actually trolled fans with false clues about a possible Half-Life 3 release more than once, so it's easy to think this was really them.
1:04 This made me laugh so hard. The delivery and how completely out of left field it is it just so funny to me.
The Nintendo ON hoax is my favorite.
When the video released, it was insane.
IGN:s Nintendo direct hoax is probably my favorite. Fun, well made, reveals itself at the right time. Just perfect.
Creepy you were talking about a new pokemon then I got a pokemon card ad it was so seamless I thought it was part of the video lol.
The thumbnail made my day.
The slightly sensual tone used to talk about Wii Balls made it all the better.
I love how seriously you said balls, good stuff
i like how most jokes were on nintendo, its sorta like the company itself.
Grow up.
@@the-NightStar dont be mad at the truth son.
I remember an issue of Game Infarcer that showed the wii (then codenamed the Nintendo Revolution) as just a purple PS2 with funny looking buttons, and I remember HELLA friends thinking it was real haha
Guess I’m gonna name my Lickilicky “Luigi” now lol
Hilariously enough, the triple wielding concept was actually used in a cursed Halo Combat Evolved mod by Infernoplus
I remember GamePro had a blurb for Conkey's Bad Fur Day in their April issue. Though it was not in the LamePro section of their magazine they had to assure reads it was not an April Fools joke.
Wow, I used to love REZ, but had no idea it was turned into a adult toy.
not really. it was to go under the cushion of couch so you could feel the bass from the game. people live close together in japan so they can't have loud music so this is a way to feel the music still kinda
game infarcer was an absolute treat
The HL3 one was great. I don't remember ever hearing about that particular prank.
the one that really got me on this april fools, was the akuma on re2, lmao, good days
great video so far guys
really the rez trance makes sense in japan. a lot of them live close to each other so you can't just have loud stuff with a lot of bass so this was a alternative that you put under cushion to feel it without loud bass sound. it made sense for a music game at least

My elementary school friend told me there were a butter knife and butter unlockable in Mario Kart DS. I can't remember "how to unlock them", but being the 8-year-old child that I was, I believed him
8:21 that’s very similar to how you would evolve an inkay! (I only mean turning it upside down)
Was "Mushroom Kingdom Hearts" not considered funny?
No More Heroes could have took advantage of the Wii balls!
I remember last year, on april first, I forgot which news site posted it, but it mentioned an update or well news about BOTW 2, stating that weapons would be less durable, and other stuff I briefly thought was real.
I remember getting disappointed, only to come back an hour later to read the article again, only to finally realize, "Wait, this isn't real." Dammit, I felt so stupid.
Did you know? Years later there would be a pokemon that does actually evolve with your system held upside down. That pokemon would be Inkay.
0:48 Where is this video from? (the one with King, Rayman, that guy from Battle Arena Toshinden, and Ridge Racer)
Getting redirected to you is a cool little easter egg
That Dragonite / Yoshi thing unearthed a childhood memory.
I'll get the bleach.
I honestly did not think I would laugh but this video was kind of hilarious
It's funny how many people are still, to this day, still trying to unlock the Nude Lora Croft code.
Sheng Long by far was the best one, but I think that one already got it's own video.
Funny thing is some of the hoax later did become somewhat real.
The Wii Ball later turn into the Switch Pokeball. Though, it’s just a ball with motion capture and an analog stick.
Also, the turn up-side-down GB to made pokemon evol, later also happened in 3DS pokemon game with the Squid Pokemon (sorry, I forgot it name)
I see the goldeneye mario party part as a simple issue of supply failing to meet demand.
That Lickitung evolution method is totally beliavable by today standards.
Bergsala (Nintendo's distributor in Norway and Sweden) reported the American commercial about Sony and Sega employees kidnapping a Nintendo employee and torturing a Mario doll to make him leak information about Star Fox 64 as it had actually happened. I don't know if it was a hoax on their side, or someone had described the commercial to them and they somehow believed it to be true.
I'll never forget the Legend of Zelda movie trailer bij IGN. I watched that one over and over again and I was so hyped. Even after I learned it was fake.
Love how y’all cover the craziest stuff imaginable when it comes to games
