As much as I love this song, I DO NOT want to play it again lmao! Since all of my drum playthroughs are one take (its just easier since I have to handle 3 cameras, and work my DAW, and perform), I wont tell you all how many times I had to start over because of mistakes.
Well what a pleasant surprise. This is in my opinion Fear Factory's best heavy song and I'm super happy to see it covered. You did quite well! Gene is no joke at all. Amazing stuff
FF is an incredible source for building that kind of stop/start style of playing. It's one of the hardest things for people to do well. Props for taking this on. What a nightmare, haha.
I remember i turned 16 in the 90s n got to cruise on my own and the first album I played in my car was demanufacture . The opening blew my f'ing mind. Once obsolete came a couple years later I loved em (I did stop after I obsolete) But to imagine trying to play any of that shit on drums, bro... Legend status. That is whole-heartidly impressive daaaamn.!
I hugely appreciate this! I think the very first FF song i heard back then was Linchpin and i was like this is absolutely some cool fucking music! And let me tell you... This song kicked my ass 8 ways to Sunday. Restart after restart after restart to get this take.
Bro you did all of that for this!! You must have some good dedication and I respect that good job! I love the camera angles and the drums!🎃😊 here’s a sub! You deserve it
Im super grateful to you! Thank you so much for watching my video and subscribing! Yeah covers like this are pretty much an all day endeavor. Ive been in my studio from 3pm and finished around 11pm.
Wow dude I could never even imagine playing this song!!! You did excellent for it being a challenging double bass song. Glad you did this song such a historic song. Imagine playing for fear factory on your and having to play this every day or other day 😭
Thanks so much! When you mentioned the song a few days ago it made me think about the very first time i ever attempted this and how i couldn't play a single note back then. This song is still ridiculously hard to play at my skill level but im glad i was actually able to get through it and it actually sound somewhat cohesive. By the time i finished that final take i was WIPED. Like i had a runners high going and everything lol. And i know it wasn't the reaction video you were hoping for but i figured you'd settle for a drum performance.
@@DrumlionMusic yeah no man it’s fine dude reaction or not it takes more effort to do the drum cover of this song versus just a reaction video I appreciate it either way man!
Fear Factory has is a band where Double Bass has always been a Very identifying aspect for their sound... Seeing u play this was awesome man. And actually its my first time hearing this track... Also, i thought angles and lighting were great. U made it this look Very nice man..💀🤘
Thanks bro. I really appreciate you taking the time to check this out. This song definitely challenged me and has been something i hoped to play ever since i heard it back in 2010. The whole album is amazing and it's one of the few fear Factory albums with Gene Hoglan as the drummer (which definitely contributes to the drums difficulty)
@@DrumlionMusic yeah, no problem man.. As far as my knowledge in regards of who played drums after Raymond Herrera departed from the band after the release of Transgression in 05'.. I had No idea Gene Hoglan did the drum tracks for this album.. I can see why learning this song feels like a BIG accomplishment to u.. Gene Hoglan one of if Not the Best of all time..💀🤘
@@DrumlionMusic i can see that you are a meticulous person based off the quality of your production.... definitely a reason why I subscribed.. professional work isn't easy, either let alone the cover!
Thanks so much! I remember trying ankle weights a long time ago to drum in and ill say this, when you take them off you feel like youre airwalking on the pedals lol
You recommended I watch this on another video of yours when I brought up Gene Hoglan… you did NOT disappoint! A+ You have a very relaxed posture when you drum. Except for every now and then when you start bouncing up and down. Lol
Lol well thank you for the compliments. This one was extremely difficult to do. It got to the point where i have no idea what my body was even doing. I guess i was putting everything i had into not screwing up the ridiculous double bass in this song. I do know that sometimes my entire body try to externalize the timing.i don't even realize im doing it half the time lol
@@DrumlionMusic no one on UA-cam listens to any of their music or breaks any of it down or does drum covers or anything. Thanks for doing this. I hope you do more soon!
Solid Cover! You're a great drummer, glad I found your channel. I noticed you have some review videos. Ever check out Matt Gartzka of Animals as Leaders?
Thanks for your words! I really appreciate this! Im definitely familiar with Matt, I just haven't deep dived into his drumming yet. But best believe a Matt analysis is coming to this channel...

Thanks so much! And you are 1000% correct. That was EXACTLY what made the song so challenging to do. The starting and stopping.
Same challenge on guitar
Man, you freakin nailed this, bro! Haven't heard this gem in a long time; old skool! Respect. 🖤🤘🏼
Thank you so much for your words! And thank you for taking the time to watch my video!

Great job on this cover brother! In boots too-!- !! What brand of cymbals are you using?
Thanks so much! Appreciate you!
Sorry I didnt answer your question. I dont know why I overlooked the second part to your comment. I am using all Meinl cymbals.
