Maniac Mansion is one of those games you played late at night, everyone in bed, crickets outside, getting frustrated at every block and wall it put infront of you lol...... Miss those days ((intro sounded crap on the amigaa though))
This is absolutely one of my biggest favorites on the Commodore 64 and Amiga. I must have been 6 years old when i played this for the first time. I still have this game on my Amiga 500 as budget priced Kixx XL release. And If remember one thing, this game was also made as a TV series. I also played its sequel, Day of the Tentacle, and that was the greatest of all the Lucasarts Games. The best of any Lucasfilm Games. Thank you! 😺👍
Is it possible to reach the ending by feeding the meteor to the man-eating plant? I heard that it works only in the NES version of the game but i found that the game can be won this way in the Deluxe edition (PC).
where did you get the accesskey for the first security door from? when I was young, I could never beat the game, since I could never find the code too open that god damn door!
ah.. wait -. let me guess. the code is some sort of piracy secure hm? like on monkey island.. so i never had such a code :/ and i was in despair when looking in game for a code for the door...
+Ramnokri If you are playing a copy-protected version, you will see a steel security door. Using the code reference leaflet found in your game box, use the keypad and type the correct code to open the door. Entering a wrong code will make the house's alarm go off. You then must hurry and type in a correct code or the house will blow up.If you are playing with Bernard, do NOT make him read the warning sign or he will attempt to crack the keypad and will make the house explode.
The manuscript will be rejected if you don't improve the writing before sending it to the publisher. Wendy is the only character who can do that. She will improve it, using the typewriter (see 22:42).

Haha yeah, the music for the Amiga (considering it's capabilities over the Atari ST) was shocking 🤣
I replay this game every so often as well as Zak McKracken. Such great games!
Why is the Amiga version so silent? It desperately needs music.

Graphics is better than C64 version but sound is awful. C64 version had better sounds.
