- You hear us talk all the time about all of the advantages of living in Florida, but what about the cons? Are there any? In this video we dig really deep to uncover some of the downsides of living in Florida. Some of them probably seem miniscule...and they are! I left NYC in 2016 for Central Florida and it’s beautiful here. I’m STILL not used to it and I don’t think it’s going to happen for a very long time lol. Florida is bitter sweet for me, I miss home so much at times but I rather live here. Great video!
Isn’t that the truth? It takes a long time to truly get used to somewhere, and Central Florida is ever-changing... so nothing is ever the same long enough to get used to! Lol
Im moving to NYC my birth state but ive living in florida for like all my life and only like a 4 years in new york im nervous about the schools in NYC also living in a cramped home others than florida bigger houses kinda cheaper housing and staying comfortable
@@ノタシンプ I’m gonna tell you right now, if you grew up in Florida, there is no way you’re gonna like living in NYC. You won’t get bored but to live like a human being is out of the question lol schools are not like Florida. It’s a bit more loose up there.
My parents are booking flights to move as I text this and let me say, I've been to destin once and felt ready to cry when I saw the beautiful beaches. I used to live 5 hours from the beach, but thanks to FWF, we made it to a beach view studio with tons of adventures and new friends. THANK YOU FLORIDA WITH FIVE!!! :)

Great pros and cons list, guys! Other than the 8 years when we lived in Tennessee, we have always lived in really warm areas. So sometimes I forget how Christmas can be a struggle for those who aren’t used to a warm Christmas. Thanks for sharing your perspective. 🙌

My husband and I are trying to move to Florida from Indiana. We’re so excited. Wake up every day looking forward to warm weather and beautiful beaches. 3 months away!

I love the cold weather between 20 to 30 degrees. Blowing smoke like a dragon is awesome. You can really breath when its cold. You feel alive when its cold. No way I could live in Florida with that oppressive heat and bugs. Love the fall foliage and Halloween and Thanksgiving and Xmas is the best when the temp is right.
Yes. Living in a climate that doesn’t have seasons change causes depression

Will be moving to Lakeland in about 3 weeks. Heard many great things about it.
Health is the main reason to move to Florida. We just sit around in Seattle cause the place is shutdown and dirty. Whenever we go to Florida I lose about 10 pounds over a couple weeks. Thanks guys! Put in an offer on 5 acres to build a house in Four Corners.

is there personal care assistance or an equivalent of that down there ? can relatives be p.c.a. / work as care-takers ?

Same, one of my kids is on the spectrum and has mental health issues and so does my other daughter so I wonder about all of that and if we will be a le to find services fast enough if we move. I don't even know where to begin to look.
how are you kids adjusting? do you find them are more active and not always stuck inside playing video games????
Yes we do! We are always going on adventures and the kids are ALWAYS outside!

Just discovered your channel and subscribed. Love your videos! Just binged watched a bunch as it's cold and rainy right now in CT.
Since I was 18, it's been my DREAM to move to FL but now at 44 and with a wife and 3 kids, I still find myself living in CT (ugh). It's scary to move away from family and friends and get out of your comfort zone. So many what if's! As my kids get older I find it even harder to make the decision. I wish I just had the guts to just DO IT! We LOVE Naples but I think schools seem to be better in the NE of FL. We were looking into Nocatee FL because I heard they have A+ rated schools but it gets cold there and I'm not a big fan of that lol.
Anyway, for now, I'll just live vicariously through you guys lol. I love watching your videos.
I live in Florida, I love it so much but I hate that it doesn’t snow or even get chilly by mid October, today it was nice, it’s a high of 76 and a low of 62 but that’s just today,
The winters are so gorgeous though! It makes dealing with the heat all summer worth it!
Would you recommend buy or just renting when someone first moves to Florida
Right now you are going to pay considerably less for the same property monthly if you buy vs. rent. It is really dependent on the position you are in. Ideally, I tell people to find a short term rental (1-2months) in an area that they are interested in living, while they are looking to purchase.

Looking to come visit for about a week in March to venture around and see if its somewhere I can picture myself living. Im been living in Chicago ALL my life. Im going to attempt to request a transfer from my job to one of our offices there. If not im STILL going to consider it. Great Video guys. Im going to check out more of you'll videos as well.

@@FloridaWithFive honestly I have no idea. Ive been on vacation there a couple of times. But i was mostly on the Miami Beach. Which i know i cant afford. lol. Thats was the purpose of me coming down there for a week just to venture as many other areas as possible. Off various other videos. the prices for places to live or rent are scary. But so are some here in Chicago. So. But Chicago Winters have gotten the best of me. Im done with it. :)
If you’re coming from Chicago, you will be fine here in Florida! There are plenty of areas with very reasonable housing prices.

I’m considering going to North Florida though I’m not entirely sure what place would be good for a bad knee that needs to be fixed The only places I’ve lived is in North Carolina and Tennessee so I don’t think I could handle a really hot summer it’s hard enough here most people saying that it’s hotter in Florida I’ve been there it didn’t feel that hot to me even in the summer also considering moving a business is another factor for me anymore in what area can I be most profitable

Is publicly transportation a thing in Florida? 🤔I'm really fond of the bus. Found all kinds of places to satisfy my food needs I'd never have noticed before.
In the beginning you mentioned Hawaii and I used to live there it's isolate ,it's far from everything and cost of living is through the roof, gallon of milk was $10 in 2004 plus all the food would spoil in 2 or 3 days since it was on the ship forever...Florida is #1 lol

Wages in Florida are generally lower than the national average, so we think so!
U betcha. Try living on $9 or $ 10 an hour. Some employers cynically call it the Sunshine Tax.
One con is no seasoms and constant hot and humidity. You should have that in your con!
We disagree! Although the summers are undoubtedly “hot”, from November through April we have near perfect weather!

Do you notice there's billions of people that could end up in Florida, I can see it sinking right now, but gladly not every loves the heat or bugs and etc, so not every one will be moving down there.
Way to expensive in Hawaii..
What about the diversity? Is their a diverse population of ppl or just a bunch of white old ppl or ppl in general. Because I have mixed kids and if I move there I wouldn't want them to feel singled out or like a pineapple in a field of carrots. Or get harrassed for the color of their skin .
They don't pay the teacher's enought of money.... Teacher's deserve higher pay....
