I don't trust phrases like "6-1-8." It's interesting this focus on S&P as the "tide" because if you take a random sample of NYSE listings you will get a different picture. I guess if your decision is to jump into QQQ or not, that makes sense - but then why not just focus on QQQ? Equities have me terrified now. I'm focusing on bonds. The TMF/TMV ETFs make any motion in interest rates scalpable. I know you don't recommend injecting macro-econ to your trading strategy, but strongly predicting a fall in rates was very, very nice to my portfolio!
Thanks again for the great analysis and guidance. It's clearly prudent to be in cash and see what happens next. Still, I can't help my macro outlook regard the FED, inflation and election year politics. I'd feel better if I could establish a bias for the ES. On one hand the stage is being set for continued high inflation (regardless of how misleading the reports are), and yet the market makers and powers that be seem to want the FED to lower rates and bolster the stock market (especially in an election year). I would not be surprised if we see a sharp and prolonged sell off (a real bear) lasting till August and then a late rally heading into the election. I like your comments about the S&P being the tide, but I also know that it's very heavily top-weighted and the general economy could be abysmal even if the S&P is in rally mode. Thank you for your checks to confirm with the NASDAQ and the Russell (and the rest). I agree with the other reader's comments that your analysis is spot on, calm, and well-founded. I'm a huge fan and have been for years. Cheers.
when coming the big drop , i think never , to much money in wrong hands , no drop coming anymore this year teh retire money is in now , and push up and up and up , it is casino now
It does not matter what we THINK; we just follow the price. If you trade off your thoughts and beliefs, it will cost you in the long run. Just follow the price; who cares which way it goes and for how long... :)
@@TheTechnicalTraders Exactly. I watch various technicals like RSI, MACD, VIX, and McClellan Oscillator, but hold steadfast until price moves in that direction with at least one additional confirmation day. Have a nice day and good luck trading!
