hi everyone! there's a new video on my account that explains the straps and ties better if you are stuck on that part. my apologies for going too fast in this video! ua-cam.com/video/Wg-iEKFOpFM/v-deo.html
@@kanakeitto6250 is it as if it is sewn, crocheted or just put a few threads in between? is it the same for the shoulder straps and the side? Thank you🫶🏻😊
After many tries, failed attempts and calculations, I'll tell you how to increase the size. If u want to increase the horizontal length, add 3 chains. For example 53ch+ 3ch+.... The chains u add must come in 2times of the chains u made because it is fundamental for the squares you'll do later. So, 53chs+6chs. And for the squares, the numbers of squares must come in odd numbers. like 17, 19 etc. because it's for the heart pattern you'll do. Hope it helps :)

This is the second crochet project I’ve made, and honestly it is pretty good, i just did it a bit too small for me and the yarn wasn’t the best for this project, but thank you because your video is really easy to understand !
Hi! Starting this as my second crochet project, following it the first time with cotton yarn and following the pattern, but, i have some fluffy yarn left from my first project that would be SO CUTE as one of these tops. My question is, does anybody have any advice for turning this into a long sleeved top? Amazing tutorial by the way, so clear, easy to follow, and absolutely adorable! 🤍
This was such a good tutorial thank you! For the joining up bit what I did was chain quite a lot and I attached the panels by weaving the chain in a zig zag patten and tying a bow at the bottom and it looks really cute! I’d recommend doing that
Hi! I finished this pattern and this top was so cute! The sleeves were a little difficult to attach, but ultimately the pattern was super easy. Perfect for Valentines Day
PART ONE 1)Chain 53 2)Single crochet 52 (hook into 2nd chain) 3) start front panel, start each mesh row by chaining 5, skip two and then double crochet into the next stitch. 4)chain 2, skip 2 and dc into the next stitch, continue this for the row 5) if you use this exact, it will have 17 rows across/ 17 squares, 6)continue this process until the first row is done 7)on the last square, do the same, to start the next row, chain 5 to start a new row, and skip 2 and double crochet in, then continue making Norma squares- chain 2, skip 2, double crochet into it. 8) she did 5 rows, so as many as you want for the length 9) now we start the heart (4:30) 10) whatever row you are on, chain 5 skip 2 dc into, then continue and chain 2, skip 2 until you have 8 squares (4;55) 11) you should be in the middle of your work, now we fill in this square to make the point of the heart, 12) to fill in the square you are going to double crochet 2 times in the middle of the square, and then make one more so it is the “piller”, 13) for the rest of the row, mirror the other side and make 8 squares again 14) (5:56) chain 5, skip 2 dc, make 7 squares in total (think like a grid to help you) 15) fill in 3 squares and make sure that you are aligned with the previous row, (9 dc) 16) make 7 more squares, crochet 2, skip 2, dc 17) row 9- 6 mesh squares, chain 5, skip 2, dc, then chain 2, skip 2 and dc, now fill in 5 squares in the middle, dc , (15 total) 18) next do 6 mesh squares, mirror the other side 19) make 5 mesh squares, then chain 1, skip one chain and then chain into the next stitch to fill in half a square, next dc 18x 20) once you are on the 18 dc, it will make half a square, chain 1, skip one and then make 5 mesh squares and it should mirror the other side) (9:30 ish)
PART 2- Starting at 9:41- 1) For row 11, repeat the same steps as in the last row, 2) Row 12 fill in 5 squares in the middle, so 6 mesh squares, and fill in 15 dc, 3) row 13 - leave one square open in the middle, 10:23- I recommend watching for this one part, make sure everything is aligned, it is also very complicated to write out and I don’t want it wrong! Done with the heart! 4) row 14- 16 make mesh rows (11:40 for what it looks like)
STRAPS - 1) for the first strap, stay attached to the panel, (11:55) 1.5) chain 2 skip 2, double crochet, make a sloped part for the sleeve so it curves in, chain 2 skip 2, make 3 mesh squares. 2) chain 1, skip 2 and double crochet to make the other side of the strap slope for your neck, 3) turn your work, chain 2, skip one and dc, makethree squares, 4) row three flip work, 2 mesh squares, chain 5 skip two, dc, 2 chain, skip 2 and dc. Start sloping chain 1- skip 2 , dc, chain 2, skip 1, dc, mesh 2 squares, 5) 4 rows should be done, rows 5-10, make it adjusted to your body, and make three mesh squares in each, tie off and work on next strap, 6) only difference is you tie on your string and start in the corner peice 7) go to the time 14:39 and she has written out the whole pattern for the other arm, now you should have the front panel and sleeve thingys done
Now the back- super easy mesh stitches, - chain 53. Sc 52, go into 2nd from hook, Make 16 rows of mesh squares with 17 mesh squares across. (Chain 2, skip 2, dc) (pattern at 16:05) Watch the last minute I’m sorry I’m so tired from writing it out, instructions are at 16:42, written out, Assembly at 16:56 hope this is good!!
thank you very much for this tutorial, it's the first time I tried to make some kind of clothes and your explanation was so good that my top came out perfect 😿💘 ily
maybe this is sort of a begginer's question but when double crocheting, should I roll the yarn from behind the needle to the front, instead of from the front to behind? janie almost did this at 5:15, but then i guess she corrected herself
I’d say I’m quite an experienced crocheter but I’m so confused! I keep ending up with an extra two stitches at the end of my row 1 :( I tried to go down to 50, 51 or 52 foundation chains but to no avail… never getting 17 squares cleanly 🥲
Hey can you please mention the measurements???? I would be very very grateful.. bcoz for me there is a difference in chain you make 53 i made 73 (i use thin yarn ) .. the waist one was okay but the upar part ? For example you made 6 box rows in starting, but its too short for me vertical length wise
If I want to make it wider I obv need to do whole squares, but how many do chain in the first row to end up with an equal number of squares, like 19 or 21?
Currently making mine and it’s my first ever crochet top! I sized mine up but I’m still worried it won’t fit the way I want it to. Will update once finished
i chained exactly 53, and when i did the mesh stitch after the sc.. it was supposed to me 3 stitches left for me to finish the last mesh stitch round 2 but i got 4 stitch left.
Hey so I wanna make a star instead of a heart, the stargirl one is different from this same pattern, right? I don’t know if you get it but I want this same pattern but with a star? Does anyone have such a pattern??
Hi I loved doing this project I easily understood while I'm French but could you tell me how we make a little bigger 21 square instead of 17 square thank you☺️☺️
Thank you so much for this!!! I’m so grateful for this tutorial and the top look amazing. I really want to do this as my 2nd « big project » but before doing it I would like to know what kind of yarn are you using here : maybe some cotton or wool like acrylic ???
Hey great tutorial! But I have a question how do we end the row and start a new row at the beginning of panel? Where do we insert our hook in the 5 chains or do we do it at the end of the last stitch? Sorry if this is worded weird! Also do we still do a turning chain or does the 5 chains count for that

PART ONE
1)Chain 53
2)Single crochet 52 (hook into 2nd chain)
3) start front panel, start each mesh row by chaining 5, skip two and then double crochet into the next stitch.
4)chain 2, skip 2 and dc into the next stitch, continue this for the row
5) if you use this exact, it will have 17 rows across/ 17 squares,
6)continue this process until the first row is done
7)on the last square, do the same, to start the next row, chain 5 to start a new row, and skip 2 and double crochet in, then continue making Norma squares- chain 2, skip 2, double crochet into it.
8) she did 5 rows, so as many as you want for the length
9) now we start the heart (4:30)
10) whatever row you are on, chain 5 skip 2 dc into, then continue and chain 2, skip 2 until you have 8 squares (4;55)
11) you should be in the middle of your work, now we fill in this square to make the point of the heart,
12) to fill in the square you are going to double crochet 2 times in the middle of the square, and then make one more so it is the “piller”,
13) for the rest of the row, mirror the other side and make 8 squares again
14) (5:56) chain 5, skip 2 dc, make 7 squares in total (think like a grid to help you)
15) fill in 3 squares and make sure that you are aligned with the previous row, (9 dc)
16) make 7 more squares, crochet 2, skip 2, dc
17) row 9- 6 mesh squares, chain 5, skip 2, dc, then chain 2, skip 2 and dc, now fill in 5 squares in the middle, dc , (15 total)
18) next do 6 mesh squares, mirror the other side
19) make 5 mesh squares, then chain 1, skip one chain and then chain into the next stitch to fill in half a square, next dc 18x
20) once you are on the 18 dc, it will make half a square, chain 1, skip one and then make 5 mesh squares and it should mirror the other side) (9:30 ish)
PART 2-
Starting at 9:41-
1) For row 11, repeat the same steps as in the last row,
2) Row 12 fill in 5 squares in the middle, so 6 mesh squares, and fill in 15 dc,
3) row 13 - leave one square open in the middle, 10:23- I recommend watching for this one part, make sure everything is aligned, it is also very complicated to write out and I don’t want it wrong! Done with the heart!
4) row 14- 16 make mesh rows (11:40 for what it looks like)
STRAPS -
1) for the first strap, stay attached to the panel, (11:55)
1.5) chain 2 skip 2, double crochet, make a sloped part for the sleeve so it curves in, chain 2 skip 2, make 3 mesh squares.
2) chain 1, skip 2 and double crochet to make the other side of the strap slope for your neck,
3) turn your work, chain 2, skip one and dc, makethree squares,
4) row three flip work, 2 mesh squares, chain 5 skip two, dc, 2 chain, skip 2 and dc. Start sloping chain 1- skip 2 , dc, chain 2, skip 1, dc, mesh 2 squares,
5) 4 rows should be done, rows 5-10, make it adjusted to your body, and make three mesh squares in each, tie off and work on next strap,
6) only difference is you tie on your string and start in the corner peice
7) go to the time 14:39 and she has written out the whole pattern for the other arm, now you should have the front panel and sleeve thingys done
Now the back- super easy mesh stitches,
- chain 53. Sc 52, go into 2nd from hook,
Make 16 rows of mesh squares with 17 mesh squares across. (Chain 2, skip 2, dc) (pattern at 16:05)
Watch the last minute I’m sorry I’m so tired from writing it out, instructions are at 16:42, written out,

when double crocheting, should I roll the yarn from behind the needle to the front, instead of from the front to behind? janie almost did this at 5:15, but then i guess she corrected herself
the direction you yarn over doesn’t really matter, but i suggest to go in the same direction that she does or whichever feels more natural
ommggg whats funny is that i actually saw the pic of this on pinterest last night!! 😮 amazing work!
Soo excited to try thisss!!🫶
OMG YAS JESUS CHRIST NEVER CLICKED SO EARLY WTF
fast*
I just made it I'm wearing it today it's so cute I can't ❤❤ think you for the easy tutorial
OMG THIS IS SO CUTE!!
Thank youu so muchh for this pattern!
c'est vraiment un top incroyable, merci pour ce joli patron
I’d say I’m quite an experienced crocheter but I’m so confused! I keep ending up with an extra two stitches at the end of my row 1 :( I tried to go down to 50, 51 or 52 foundation chains but to no avail… never getting 17 squares cleanly 🥲
THE DEDICATION IN THE PDF FREE PATTERN?! THANK YOU
I only have 4.5 mm hook and im not sure about the yarn, maybe 4 or 5 but ill try to make it😅
Hey can you please mention the measurements???? I would be very very grateful.. bcoz for me there is a difference in chain you make 53 i made 73 (i use thin yarn ) .. the waist one was okay but the upar part ? For example you made 6 box rows in starting, but its too short for me vertical length wise
If I want to make it wider I obv need to do whole squares, but how many do chain in the first row to end up with an equal number of squares, like 19 or 21?
I only have weight 3 yarn, I'm not sure if I can pull it off
You explain it so well😩💫❤️
can’t wait to make this! i hope you post more, you’re so talented!
hi emily!! thank you for the encouragement! i rlly want to post more 😊
Currently making mine and it’s my first ever crochet top! I sized mine up but I’m still worried it won’t fit the way I want it to. Will update once finished
say after completion
hi! any update? can you let me know how many chains you made
Is there a way to alter this in case it would be too big or small like width wise? Or does it not matter
there is information at the end of my pattern for alterations!
my front panel turned out to be the the size of a handkerchief 😭😭 what do I do...
i chained exactly 53, and when i did the mesh stitch after the sc.. it was supposed to me 3 stitches left for me to finish the last mesh stitch round 2 but i got 4 stitch left.
I saw someone wear this at the txt concert in nyc! It looked really nice and neat!
thank you so much for this tutorial!!
Hey so I wanna make a star instead of a heart, the stargirl one is different from this same pattern, right? I don’t know if you get it but I want this same pattern but with a star? Does anyone have such a pattern??
This is my first crochet project ever hope it goes well 🙂
thank you so much for this I've been trying to find a tutorial for this kind of stitch and this was perfect
Can I make it long sleeved?
are there also a way to add sleeves?
THIS IS SO CUTE WTF
Idk why but your work is comfy then mine mine is tight and its not same as inch in yours
Hi I loved doing this project I easily understood while I'm French but could you tell me how we make a little bigger 21 square instead of 17 square thank you☺️☺️
i think it would be chain 64! and then just make sure you start the heart on square 11
I bought some crochet stuff like months ago and I’ve been avoiding making stuff for some reason 🥱 I might end up making this for my friend tho 😍
so excited to make one in pink !!!!! thank you for an awesome explanation and free pattern aaaa
What did you wear under the top to not show everything sorry I have to ask I was just confused how to wear it myself 😅
im wearing a white sports bra!
ok tysm!!
I finished it! And I love it!
how much yarn did u use
Thank you so much for this!!! I’m so grateful for this tutorial and the top look amazing.
I really want to do this as my 2nd « big project » but before doing it I would like to know what kind of yarn are you using here : maybe some cotton or wool like acrylic ???
thank u for being here! i used acrylic in the video but cotton is great as well!
Hey great tutorial! But I have a question how do we end the row and start a new row at the beginning of panel? Where do we insert our hook in the 5 chains or do we do it at the end of the last stitch? Sorry if this is worded weird! Also do we still do a turning chain or does the 5 chains count for that
This is beautiful!!! and good teaching
