Do some research of the person you’re reaching out to and offer something irresistible! Perhaps a free custom track or offer something specific to their world that would be unique & helpful. I once had a guy reach out and offer to create some ethereal guitar patches for me; I accepted and we ended up creating a sample library together.

Of course it is helpful. The issue is how to get there, and if one is able to do it, or if the way to this is worth the outcome.
