Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
Hello Randy. I'm playing this video for my husband who is transitioning from this life to the next. He is a life long fisherman. He has followed you for a bit and really enjoyed listening to you. Thank you for what you do. My condolences to you for your recent loss of your father. Keep on fishing!
Prayers going up for you and your family. Are you guys christians? If you don't mind me asking.
A lovely message - love and prayers to you - every father and Dad should try to pass on this wonderful gift of fishing to their family ❤️
@@sealedsecure3754 I’m a Christian and will never understand why people ask this. Whether they are or not, they have lived long enough to make a decision on their religion. And I would imagine the majority of people who are dying have thought about the afterlife. To the OP, my prayers and condolences are with you.

Never hurts to share the gospel again if a person isn't tho right? Even if they heard b4.
@@sealedsecure3754 maybe comment a Bible verse that comforts in time of dealing with a loss. Even a person who is not a Christian will at least google the verse. If it’s powerful it can move people during hard times.
Trim the plastic in a circle around where hook comes out. It helps with hook ups. And since the secret is out already. This is a big fish catcher. Around lay downs, lily pads and vegetation. My favorite technique is to throw it Texas rigged onto matted vegetation. Drag it till it gets to open water and let it drop.
Going to have to try that! Thanks for the tip! what do you mean trim it in a circle?
Literally cut the fringe off down to the central worm core on the nearest Ridge to where the hook exits the plastic after it is threaded on the hook.
Shhhhhhhhhhh!!!! 🥺
In Spain where I live, the Bellows Gill and Geecrack in general have been an absolute revolution... everybody use it now and a year ago nobody even knows what the heck Geecrack was.
I’ve been using these for the past couple years and they are phenomenal! Many ways to rig and many different sizes to target a wide variety of bass species! The action + the smell the bass can simply not resist it
Same been using them for 3yrs
Randy this bait is phenomenal!!!! I use the 2.8 version more than the other. Paired with the Keitech mono jig is deadly!!!! They smell like Doritos. Catfish love them as well!!! I've used them on a jika rig and they work surprisingly well. I've even used it as a Carolina rig and had tremendous success. I'm going to bring up my new love right now. See, I've been using alot of new japanese baits. The Kasumi Dancing Bone Doctor is my latest secret. These baits are a bit of a science fiction looking bait that has been a good producer lately. There's a resemblance to a alien centipede look about it. To be honest, I think the Japanese designer's are onto something with the latest baits I've seen. They are way ahead of us on Ned rig design baits. My arsenal is now well equipped with some great stuff. It's the difference of getting bit or going home empty-handed. I continue to search for new baits constantly. It's the true edge that separates me from your average angler. Japanese designer's are the one's to watch theses days. The Berkeley Gilly is a copy of a Japanese designer's bait that " Micheal Ike" has been claiming he designed. It's a good bait and will be a game changer but he didn't design it. Sorry Mike!!! Anyway,.... I'm glad to see you spoke about the Bellows Gill baits. They do a great job for me. Good video 👊
Weedless and weightless is my favorite way to fish these. I’ll tex-pose the hook point through one or two of the ribs instead of the core of the bait. That’s enough to keep it relatively snag free and I’ve had no problems setting the hook. The free rig is also great! I’ve had success with both.
What size do you prefer?
@@davidrussell9290 3.8 gets bit the most from what I’ve found. Can’t remember what size hook I use but weightless I’ll use a heavy duty VMC wide gap.
@@albertojvel I ordered some 3.8 and 5.8 to play with. Thanks.
I've been using smaller versions of that bait for about 2 years now, most specifically the "yoto worm" from 10 000 fish. Slightly different profile but the same concept. Unreal on the back of a bladed jig. I think the bigger profiles will fish very well on a free rig or weightless texas rigs. Best of luck everyone.
Love the yoto, excited for the new mini.
The best size I’ve found is the 3.8 inch on a Tokyo rig or free rigged and to your point I have never had a problem hooking fish. This bait is amazing in ponds or fire during the spawn when the main forage is bluegill
I bought a pack of these on Tackle Warehouse because the 10,000 Fish YOTO WORM was sold out. Had “little” luck with it. When the YOTO Worm was back in stock I ordered some, and have caught several fish on each bait in the pack.
In mid august in the heat of summer I was fishing in a high school tournament here in Minnesota. The bite was insanely tough and everyone was struggling to get bites but I was absolutely recking them on this geecrack bellows Gill. I fished it on a free rig which is what this bait is designed to be fished on although it is very versatile. I finished with 15 pounds and won with second place only catching 10 pounds. Love this bait
Zipper on steroids 🤣🤣
The deps bull flat works a lot like it
I'm calling it right now, within 1 month he's gonna come out with a modification video for this lure.😂
“First, what you want to do is remove all the ribs… Next, you’ll want to…”
It needs one tho. Hook up ratio is terrible
Try the Zappu Bellows hooks. The 6/0 for the big Bellows Gill. These are killer during the spawn. I like to nose hook the 2.8 and drop shot it.
Yes I’ve done very well during the spawn also👍🏻🔥🔥
Love these things: I use them Texas rigged - weightless & free rigged. There is a specialty hook made for them: the Zappu Bellows Hook…. I think they recommend the 6/0 for the 5.8 & the 3/0 for the 3.8.
The Zappu Bellows hook is nice and stout but I personally found I get lot more use of each Bellows Gill using a twistlock EWG hook. Get lot more use with multiple fish
@@pipsqueak87 I’ll check it out, thanks!
New Suber❤️👍🏾❗️
Firstly, I’m Already In Love With This Bait❤️👍🏾❗️
Weightless, With Our 5/O TrapperTackle Hook, The BEST EVER Hook I’ve Used That Actually Holds/Hugs Baits Much Better Than ANY🎣❤️👍🏾❗️
Gonna Certainly Order Some, And Keep You Posted On My Progress❤️👍🏾❗️
You're right; it looks similar to a trilobite.
Been using this bait for about a year.
Makes a decent trialed on a swim jig.
I also rig it through the braid side and use a injures shad approach
It's a jdm bait. I actually happened across some the other day online and ordered them. I have success with ribbed baits so I will give it a shot.
You won't be disappointed. I've been using japanese designed baits for years now and I love em!!! Here in the Ozarks, they love em too!!! Kasumi Dancing Bone Doctor is another great bait
Skip it under/around docks weightless texas rig with a 7/0 owner beast hook on 20lb flouro.
A lot of the Japanese style lures will be the future. Now that more US companies don’t care about biting other companies original ideas
Japanese manufacturer's have always been my go to choice. Their quality is unmatched.
I’ve had a lot of success throwing the 3.8 on a hard head as well as the twin spiron
Same, use a swing head on lrg size-smells awful but they eat it! Smallest size for drop shot. Cost a lot - very fragile.
@@mattquinlan4629 that 2in on a dropshot is incredible. So are the smaller bellows sticks
Free rig or owner beast weighted or un weighted hook, deps bull flat is also another good flat gill imitator
I had one good day fishing the 5inch size. Was throwing white . Got a bunch of big Perch, a big ugly pickerel & my only 2 Bass over 3lbs this year. Haven't even got a bite on the bluegill color in the 3.8 inch though & I've went through 3 packs easy
I have a few baits that are basically the same type as this. Super ugly and lots of action from those thin fins. Absolutely works great for me. Can’t wait to try this one. Thanks for the introduction. Never seen this one before.
These work great. Used the Bellows Gill and was catching like crazy but only negative is they aren’t very durable. 1 or 2 bass and it’s destroyed. Those Japanese make some crazy lures for shore.
The Bellows stick is my absolute favorite! Done quit well this year with it!!!!
I have used the two smaller sizes quite a bit. The best for me is the middle size. I put it on a screw-lock swimbait hook weightless & twitch retrieve it. I have tried free-rigging them but haven’t had any luck except catching a catfish. Also caught a few fish using it on a Tokyo-rig.
Bring a bag of fritos when you're fishing it. Gonna be craving them.
Yes! I believe all the Geecrack soft plastics are infused with that Dorito smell! What do the Japanese know that we don't?
Ha! They make a worm one of these I cut down to about 1" long that slaaaaaaaaaaaaaays crappie. The revival shad is a money bait too for crappie. I think it's the corn...
I’ve been using these for awhile now, I’ve caught a few here & there. Maybe I’m not fishing it right idk , ty for the tips
Used them this year on my local lake and did well. Cool bait comes in a bunch of colors and sizes and that odd sent. They do work !!!
I just went out and smoked them on this I was using the smaller size pitching it into the base of the reeds. Only complaint is they rip very easily out of the whole pack I had 1 that lasted 3 fish
I free rig the smaller versions and if using the 5inch version I use the zappu bellows ewg hook. It's made for that and use a light tungsten weight. Also killer on a Carolina rig. Been smashing them on the Cali Delta with this. Also check out the depps bull flat.
I’ve been free rigging it. I like the Deps bull flat better. The geecrach is harder to get hook penetration with. The Zappu bellows hook seems to be the best hook I found for them. Thanks
Man I still use giant worms in Motor Oil or Black color, spinnerbaits and Hula poppers and I still rock the fish.
bellows gill and imoripper are bass catcher! period!
Bellows gill works extremely well free rigged or with jika rig
i wanted more variety when it comes to color, so I bought all three sizes of the mold. It's a pretty expensive when you buy them at a tackle shop. I love triple injecting that bait. I make "Darren's magic" I use it in both freshwater here in California and for bass off of Catalina Island. Awesome bait!
It’s one of the best kept secrets on tour right now.
I know you love em. I do too. But are a lot of guys on tour throwing these?
@@holdmybeeroutdoors223 not a ton of guys throwing them yet. But it won’t be long.
The 2.8 and 3.8 sizes are much more manageable when it comes to rigging and hookup ratio. You can also hook these through the nose like a drop shot.
thanks for asking bout this Randy! I have seen it and came close to buying, but grabbed something else instead. Always wondered about it. seems like it would do very good in the spring pre-spawn or bed fishing. thanks!
Looks like a trilobite.
I use the smallest size on a jig, it works. I have it in 3 sizes but I havent used the big one yet, its a huge bait.
I use the 3.8 on a weighted hook, and swim it, then I use it on a Tokyo rig, those are my 2 favorite ways to use it, of course the ways you mentioned work well too!
I actually found a small one of these it was grayish black on the bank of this fishing pond
I was just thinking if those plastics they use are harmful to the fish or biodegradable or have we just been poisoning our water and fish with carcinogens this hole time there have been times when I have used two hole bags of senkos in one outing and then have caught fish pooping out senkos before not sure if it’s good for the fishing industry if we go back to live baits but would probably be better for the fish and our water supplies just a thought though
Looks like a tiny leach and or fluke. Moves a lot of water around too.👍
Doesn't look like either of those chief. Smoke another one lol
I Have Been Watching The Japanese Bass Fishing Videos They Have Been Using Lure Like This For Years i Believe The Concept Is Originally For Japan and They Catch a Lot Of Bass On Them
What size hook would you need on that thing?? I’d worry a little about hookup ratio as well. On another note I just want to thank you for being an inspiration to start my channel Randy. Keep up the great work!
3-5 basis is size of the bait
I shelved them after my first trip because even a large beast hook just has too much plastic in the way when fished vertically. Horizontal doesn't seem that special.
Good to know. Maybe if the carved out a spot for the hook like big swimbaits do.
Lol I thought your profile photo was mine😂
Where I live. They eat em!
Cats out of the bag i guess, put the 2.8 size on a ned head , skip under docks , i cant believe i just said that, lol
That thing is pretty chunky. I've had some good results with the 4.75 yoto worm. It's a similar shape but much skinnier and has hook channels.
@@Davo2233 They all work. I've done the best fishing it flat on a T rig.
Been using ot for about 6 months now. Gets tons of bites but im struggling with hookup ratio . Hook point goes back into bait on hooksets. Hard not to throw though the way they bite it
Welcome to the party! The BellowsGill from Geecrack is an absolute fish catcher!!!
I had a bag given to me but haven’t tried them yet , they are so big , I’m thinking bedding fish , bigger fish !
been fishing these for two seasons now. The smallest ones work as a drop shot bait. Ive used the mid size as a jig trailer and they are deadly on a exposed jig head for bed fishing, the bass destroy them. Havent fished the larger ones yet.
Hey randy best thing to do is to trailer hook the ewg. It sounds weird but it works
A couple ideas with that bait. I could picture it being good power shotting it. The 2nd idea is to put it on one of the swinging chatterbait that uses an ewg hook. Another thought is to put it on a swing head, and fishing it on the bottom. Last thought would be to put it on a magnum shaky head with an ewg hook. If you use the small versions they are killer chatterbait trailers.
The larger ones are killer during the prespawn and definitely if you bed fish. I mean come on a bass will see a large bluegill tying to eat it's fry. And she will destroy that thing. Hookups are the issue I'm having.
Definitely an interesting bait, it does look like it would be a good saltwater bait also.
Wish they were a bit more durable but they catch em for sure. The scent works well. Also a skipping machine.
Hey randy I have some and I love using mine I caught these on mine last weekend
Ps there is a bellows Gill hook for this bait. Zappu Bellows Offset Wide Gap Worm Hook
There is a hook made exactly for the Bellows Gill. The US has good colors but the JDM has the best colors.
I have been trying to rig it like a swimbait and retrieve it like a swimbait
looks kind of like the 10,000 fish yoto worm that recently came out
Use the 3.8 it’s the best size and it’s their best seller
Bellow gill has been around my area in the south for a few years now.
Swims like a big leech and smells like Beer Nuts - what's not to love? I started throwing these when they first came out and were only available in Japan after I saw them in a video. Loved the idea of the bait and I've done well with them. Kind of sad they won't be under the radar much longer but I guess that was inevitable.
You need to do a UA-cam channel review on The Hookup Tackle! It will be your new favy store in Az.! Also they make those Bellos gills in smaller sizes.
Ive neen using that expensive bait for a while i love the smell.. 🇯🇵 Japanese baits are awesome for BFS and powerfishing
I would say flip it with an #8 flipping hook and a 3/8 or 1/2 ounce weight and just jack the crap out of um!! That should boost your hookups right there
Love them on a free rig. Flat bottom let’s it sink slowly
honestly, its refreshing to see hear one of the "ol heads" (as the kids say..) like myself. that are willing to be honest about really any of the newer stuff coming out without always just "hating" on anything that isn't , you know "old"... most of every thing is over hyped in marketing now days.. we all already get that for the most part.. right? personally im always super curious to a person successfully use any number of the weird new "goowee" JDM creepy crawly'S !! makes it more fun again like when we was kids!!!
On my wife’s phone hey Randy that bait is made by the catch co company they also make a lure called the eelelimator which looks wonderful that bait the gill one l would fish it on its side like the old Mann’s shadow minnow made to fish sideways and it catches a lot of fish weightless Texas and sideways drift with a lot of slow fall hang time l would call it let it meander slowly to the bottom l catch a lot of fish that way weightless erratic drift on bottom shake in place then sharp snap and do it all over and did you ever fish Mann’s lures or jelly worms and they have a new worm the springer worm 1&2 they are sensational and bass pro doesn’t carry them but give them a look l think you will like them!!!
Use it like a frog that can sink. I like that idea a lot.
I use this for ground fishing on a tsunami gumball jig in saltwater. Kills it for black sea bass, fluke/flounder(kind of think it looks like a juvenile fluke)stripers, sea robin, etc. smells like dirty old fritos!
Wow never seen this before thanks Randy
Had a good bit of success with the 4.8” Bellowsgill Stick so will need to give it a try but man, that’s a big bait
If they make a 3” version of that thing hopping it around bluegill might work in my neck of the woods.
They make a 2.8” one. Works for Ned or a free rig or any finesse style pretty much
Been using this for awhile as a flip bait, it gets it done, but a big bite will destroy it. There is a special hook out there ewg bellows hook.
What size would u recommend for the 3.8 size
@@jmfishing5733 I would start small with this for sure, it can be intimidating flipping the big one, c rig the monster one or even spoon style fish it. It’s got some weight to it for sure. I would Texas rig it for the most part, make sure you just put the hook back in the ribs of the bait tho, if not you’ll have troubles with hook penetrating all the plastic.
3-5 ot on the hook, you want some meat hanging as the action of the tail is pretty unique. Start with ewg first, the flipping and word hooks are not really the trick for this one.
I've been using it for a couple of years.... If you think that is good, use their 2.8 inch Bellow Stick on a drop shot
I like the 3.8 on a Tokyo rig, especially the plum blue flake color
“I’m by no means an expert, I gotta spend more time with it”… and then he probably will be. 😎
Yoto worm was fire this year T-rig and ned so maybe there's something to this style of lure.
Really wish you would have kept this one on the down low. There's a few of us in my area that clean the pegs at the local shop as soon as they get a shipment.
could you please put the name of the lure in the description? and possibly a link where to find it? I could not understand how you said the name.
Ive seen some people wacky rig the smaller versions
I've tried them a few times on a keel weighted 6/0 gamakatsu watch en swirl down and wait for it to get picked up
Really similar to the 10,000 fish Yoto Worm. That's been out for quite some time.
Been fishing with them for months. Ya it catches them good slide weight or on the back of a jig 👍 and sshhhhh geez
I fished the smaller size a few times this Spring. Never got a bite. I’m sure if i fished it more I’d have success though.
Bass love em in my neck of the woods, but I reach for a lot of things before then due to the price and how fragile they are. One nip from a bluegill and it gets torn in half. So frustrating. That being said, I always have em on me just in case and usually use the 3.8 on a 3/0 or 4/0 hook either t rigged with a weight or weightless
How dose it look in the water. Some demo with it would be great
I really think you are on to something concerning that lure. I did a short on the original GrandeBass Rattlesnake, it seems to always have some magic attraction property. The ring style plastics always produce, check out the Reins Bubbling Shaker too!!!
They catch umm you just got to know where to throw it and they tear really easy so you have to buy a ton of them
My cat would have fun with that thing...;)
I use Thunderhawk Grenade in the smaller size and it is fantastic for river smallies. Idk about the Bellow, but the Grenade is made of elastomer so it's extremely tough. The smaller sizes are much better imo, not nearly as much interference as you pointed out.
What’s the name of the bait and who sell them! I would like to try some.
Geecrack Bellows Gill..... Carolina Fishing Tackle, Hook Up Tackle, Tackle Warehouse
Something new for fish
It reminds me of the Zipper.
Rig the 5.8" on an 8/0 unweighted Beast hook. I use 20 lb floro and throw it on a 7' 6" flipping stick. I've had my best luck fishing it like a fluke over heavy milfoil & coontail. When there is a hole let it drop. It catches big fish.
