What settings do you use to track your drop shot as it falls under the boat?

I know in Sideview, the top of the yellow line represents the front of the boat. Which part of the yellow line in Clearview represents the front of the boat, left or right of the screen?

I've got this sounder on my pa14 kayack what would be the best setting to have it too read the fish

I'm still not sure how much I like the ClearVu. (FYI: I'm new to sonar and recently purchased my first unit, which includes ClearVu.) Would it make any sense that I'm thinking ClearVu is not useful when anchored/not moving? For me, it seems like ClearVu is best for identifying structure, but Traditional is what I would prefer for finding fish. Sorry if that seems like a stupid question, but I'm literally on information overload as I'm trying to learn basics as well as manufacturer-specific sonar all at once.
EDIT: I guess what I'm really getting at is regarding the scrolling. ClearVu scrolls at the same speed, regardless of my boat speed. So I should expect imagery to appear distorted as my speed relates to the scroll speed--correct? So if I'm parked, then the ClearVu should be useless?

From watching other videos, the strength of clearvu is finding bottom structure and marking waypoints for spots that should hold fish at various times of year, whereas the other graph modes are generally better in spotting fish. Keep in mind the right side of screen is real time. Left of the right screen edge is not live data and the time in past on those can be determined by timing a reference scrolling across the screen. That can vary with scrolling speeds.

I'm not a big fan of clearvu either. We had traditional sonar that when marked fish, we caught fish. On the other hand when clearvu marked fish we caught seaweed and got stuck on the bottom. Sidevu was useless. Traditional sonar is the tried and proven technology to find fish. Someday clearvu will be there as well.

@@jeffmutrie227 Ha! My luck hasn't been quite that bad. But definitely can't trust its judgement of fish.
I use ClearVu to scout for structure and topology. But when it's time to put line in the water, I only trust traditional/2D.

@@TonyGingrich Maybe I'm just used to traditional sonar. The thing is that clearvu was pushed as better technology. It probably is or will be in a year or 2. I use navionics with the relief shading to find structure. That is an awesome feature to use when looking for hot spots.

So if the chirp is 455khz in clearvu, do you know how much of a viewing diameter it's giving? I'd imagine is just about the length if the boat if that?

If my transducer is mounted on my transom, in which direction is the screen image representative?

The right side of the screen is where your transducer is mounted.
