My grandfather actually worked on the special effects for jaws 3, specifically the part where jaws crashes through the glass.
That scene was originally COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, a jaws prop was on a rail so he could be dropped onto a pane of glass with water on top of it. The camera had a plastic bag over it so it wouldn't get wet. Unfortunately either the SFX company or the movie company was bought out and he left the company, the scene he worked on was removed and replaced with the one that is in the movie now.
That's awesome. It's a shame they couldn't come up with something more realistic.

In Jaws 3 , you don't care about the characters. Jaws The Revenge..... I felt sorrier for poor Christie Atkins in the beginning of Jaws than I felt for Sean Brody in the forth flic.

Kaefer1973 yes, but coral is an essential part of many marine ecosystems. climate change actually affects coral, as a change in temperature can cause it to bleach (and bleached coral doesn't survive for very long). both climate change and destruction to coral reefs are huge issues that pose a danger to the earth and the organisms living on it.

I saw the shark at Universal Studios once. Off-screen he's a real down to earth kinda guy.
Also fun fact, the shark in finding Nemo was named Bruce as a reference to jaws.

in it, jaws would become a writer and former alcoholic with an asshole, hypocritically religious, overbearing father and a group of colorful outcast friends that get involved in a supernatural mystery, which will ultimately help solve their personal issues by the end, all while being pestered by stereotypical bully's with no redeeming quality's. (and at least *one* moment of someone turning into a cartoon character)

The concept was awesome. The execution was terrible though. It definitely begs for a reboot with real changing effects versus what the show did. The late Simon Macorkindale did the best he could with what he was given.

I remember watching this at 9 at my house for a slumber party. we threw a lot of popcorn at the tv for how bad this was.
The original is a classic. I had no idea there were sequels to Jaws until a few years ago. Honestly, they just don't seem necessary. The shark literally got BLOWN UP at the end of the film!

A shark attacking an underwater tunnel is not realistic in terms of how a shark works
Neither is breaking the bars of a cage that easily or attacking the command center. Or the nibbling. Or the fact that marine biologists accidentally poisoned a shark. There's a lot wrong with this movie.

I've seen a lot of 80's films in 3d like Friday the 13th part 3 was in 3d and that was a lot better like in one scene where it showed Jason crushing some poor guys skull and they show the guys pop out of his skull and it comes out right at you and with this movie aside from the bad effect of the severed arm was the slow moving 35 foot plus Great White Shark going right at the window of the control room I mean the stupid thing wasn't even moving right up until it smashed nose first right into the window and the only part of the shark that moved right when it made contact with the window was it's mouth and another scene where you can see the shark moving it's tail was when it attacked the underwater tunnels going for the tourists.
The shark growled.
Went so much easier on this movie than you could have.
As someone who doesnt like modern NC, its good to see that i still genuinely laugh at those classics

Obviously, the Jaws franchise has never been very scientifically accurate when it came to their portrayal of great whites, but there is one (likely unintentional) element that reflects real-life great white biology. While real great whites don't grow longer than 20 feet, the one in the original is 25 feet and is referred to as a "he", while the shark in this film is a staggering 35 feet long and is identified as a female. Yes, female whites are indeed larger than males and are the only ones to reach 20 feet. A classic case of females being more deadly than males. So yeah, if male great whites in this universe can reach 25 feet, females would be even bigger!

Well, there is a scene where the dolphins try to take the shark down. All they manage is to distract it long enough for the humans to get away. Still makes them heroes in my book!

When I learned my TV had 3D support and got this movies blu-ray I was surprised it actually works and is even serviceable by my nonexistent standards. That doesn't change the fact I got bad a headache after viewing it, yes the 3D is a huge factor but the plot is also to blame. (Fun fact: the 3D version of the movie is hidden in the special features)
1:38: To be fair, that looks to be a Giant Grouper (Epinephalus lanceolatus), a fish which can exceed 2 metres in length. That is one fish that doesn't f@ck around. In fact, most sharks actively avoid it in fear of being eaten. (Although a Great White probably wouldn't)
Even in film you can still see abuse in the whale. I would literally jump in the water to attempt telling the shark "you will be forced to do tricks"
