Johnny Hallyday was born on Tuesday, June 15, 1943, in Paris and passed away on the night of December 5 to 6, 2017, in Paris. He is the son of a Belgian father and a French mother. In 57 years of his career, he recorded around 1300 songs. 180 tracks have been made into a music video or a scopitone. 758 authors and composers collaborated with Johnny. Johnny composed 105 songs himself and also composed about ten tracks for other artists. He has also written and co-written a few songs. Johnny also has 545 duets with 188 different artists on 214 tracks. His first 45 RPM record was released on March 14, 1960, but it was on December 30, 1959, that it could be heard for the first time on the radio in the show "Paris cocktail." On April 18, 1960, under the "sponsorship" of Line Renaud, he made his first television appearance in "L'école des vedettes." 57 years later, 93 certifications including 41 gold records, 4 double gold records, 23 platinum records, 8 double platinum records, 5 triple platinum records, and 12 diamond records (including one double diamond and one triple diamond) testify to an exceptional career, crowned by 10 Victoires or special Victoires or music honor Victoires. 2 NRJ Music Awards. Johnny is the most acclaimed French artist and the one who has sold the most records in France. The number of units sold is estimated at 200 million, including more than 110 million records sold. Imagine if he had had an international career... With 805,000 sales in one week of Mon pays c'est l'amour (51st album) (Posthumous album), Johnny was ranked No. 1 worldwide in 2018. A stage beast recognized by all, Johnny performed more than 184 tours and attracted nearly 30 million spectators throughout his career. Johnny will have given more than 3502 concerts. Johnny is the only French artist whose almost entire body of work has been recorded both audio-visually. Johnny is also an actor with, to his credit, no fewer than 43 films (including appearances) spread throughout his career. About twenty fan clubs (approximately 10,000 members in total) He was awarded the Legion of Honor in 1997, he has also been an Officer of the Order of the Crown since 2001, but above all, he has been a Knight of Arts and Letters since 1995. He sang in several different languages.(English, Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Japanese, and German) He brought together the rich, the less rich, and the poor. He brought together several generations. Listening to his songs, you will realize that this very great singer was capable of singing anything. There is something for everyone's taste, rock'n'roll, rockabilly, blues, country, French variety, a rock opera album (Hamlet), etc. A unique voice.. Her voice has only evolved over the years, becoming more and more powerful and precise. Johnny can be compared to the greatest singers in the world!! He gave numerous exceptional concerts, with crazy entrances like at the Parc des Princes in 1993, entering through the back of the stadium and walking through the crowd for three consecutive nights (no one had done that before him). and he did it again in 2013 at Bercy, in 1998 he arrived by helicopter above the Stade de France, in 1984 at the Zenith he came out of a giant hand (a wall had to be broken to get the hand above the stage), in 2012 at the Stade de France he arrived in a giant flying ball resembling a mine, which landed on stage, and so on. Here are some songs: "Quelques cris, L'envie, Allumer le feu, Ce qui tue pas nous rend plus fort, Tu es elle, Que je t'aime, Je te promets, Quelque chose de Tennessee, Vivre pour le meilleur, Pense à moi, Marie, Laisse moi tomber, S'il nest pas trop tard, Ma religion dans son regard, Le temps passe, Si tu pars, Mon plus beau Noël, Te savoir près de moi, Sang pour sang, Aimer vivre, Ça ne change pas un homme, True to you, Tien an men, Cadillac, Je ne suis pas un héros 'Bercy 1990', Requiem pour un fou 'Parc des Princes 1993', Derrière l'amour, Gabrielle, Ce que je sais, Moulin à vent, C'est du vent, Voyage au pays des vivants, À tout casser, Fumée, Comme si je devais mourir demain, J'ai oublié de vivre, Elle m'oublie, La musique que j'aime, Ma gueule, L'instinct, Diego 'Bercy 92', Animal, Un jour viendra, I am the blues, Ça ne finira jamais, De l'amour, La douceur de vivre, La paix, Debout, Pardonne-moi, Vent de panique, La loi du silence, Seul au beau milieu d'un lac, Sable mouvant, Ne m'oublie pas, Mon pays c'est l'amour, Made in rock'n'roll, Qui ose aimer, Autoportrait, Rock'n'roll attitude, Rester libre, J'ai pleuré sur ma guitare, L'amour peut prendre froid(duet with Céline Dion), Ne reviens pas, Rock'n'roll star (movie)duet with Fabrice Luchini(actor), J'la croise tous les matins, Quand le masque tombe, Et puis je sais, Pirate de l'air, Un rêve à faire, M'arrêter là, Essayez, Le coeur en deux, Entre chiens et loups, Un monde à part, A propos de mon père, Regarde moi t'aimer, Jamais(duet with Florent Pagny), Je serai là, Mirador, Les vautours, J'oublierai ton nom, Le chanteur abandonné, Toi tais-toi, Ne tuez pas la liberté, Montpellier, Il nous faudra parler d'amour un jour, J'ai épousé une ombre, Je n'oublierai jamais, Je suis nu je suis mort, Il me faudra plus de temps que m'en donnera la vie, Le bol d'or, Noël interdit, De la race humaine, Le pénitencier, La terre promise, La fille aux cheveux clairs, La fille de l'hiver, Sage pour vous, La tournée, J'aimerais pouvoir encore souffrir comme ça, La guitare fait mal, Parties de cartes, Pardon, Un cri, L'amour à mort, Prière pour un ami, Rouler vers l'ouest, Une lettre à l'enfant que j'étais, Te manquer, etcccc And many others.... 💯💣🗯💫🦾💪💥
Great reaction Grant! Let me try, again, to give the full context: • Johnny : The most admired singer in France from early 60s to 2017 when he died. He is the Elvis of France, sold more than 110M records WW. His concerts were huge! To give you an idea on how big he was in the french music history, just 3 anecdotes: 1. As a teenager, he was mentored by Edith Piaf and Charles Aznavour themselves ! 2. He was the first one who gave his chance to a young guitarist and his band, as a supporting act to his concerts during his 1966 tour. Name of the band: the Jimi Hendrix Experience! 3. When he died in 2017, there were national funerals, with hundred of bikers on the Champs-Elysees, 1 million people long the path of the funeral procession. And this song was played when the coffin penetrated in the church. Johnny was a real vocal powerhouse, but for this concert , in this last night, best perf, the mics were balanced in favor of Lara: he wanted her to shine and found this gave more drama to the duet. • The song: this is an anthem song for him, that he used to sing alone. This was turned into a duet for Lara. The story of the song was created in reference to a very famous old french classic movie: Le Jour se Leve (1939) where the main character is barricaded and surrounded by the police, having killed a bad man who was his rival in love affairs. Here it becomes more a « Bonnie and Clyde » scene where the main character and her girlfriend are defying the police. • The venue/event: Johnny’s concerts in Stade de France ( biggest stadium in Paris and France) in front of min 80,000. Lara was one of the surprise special guest. They were supposed to perform it 3 times in a row on September 1998 (4th, 5th and 6th). The first night on the 4th, it was deluge of rain, the scene was outdoor, it was risky and they decided at the last minute, with the crowd in the stadium, to postpone it to Sep 11th . Johnny was devastated. The second night and the third night the weather was fine enough. There were 200+ musicians and 150+ chorists on stage. The orchestra and choir setup was amazing, the choir especially which was distributed on huge stairs climbing to the sky. But the night of 11th, the rain was here again. Johnny absolutely refused to cancel this time. This is this Sep 11th show that you just watched and the rein just added some dramatic effect to the whole performance. The orchestra was located under a tent. The choir was grouped on the floor and on some balconies (not on stairs anymore obviously) • Lara: she was at the beginning of her career in France and this performance became legendary and accelerated her fame there. She was just starting to be known in France when, in February 1998, she performed this song in duet with Johnny for Les Enfoires, the most attended France TV Show of each year. Johnny was so surprised and amazed by Lara performance that he decided to do this song again as a duet with her for the 3 big concerts a few months later. In between February and September, the album Pure from Lara had become an absolute mega hit in France, and Lara was already a star. But this live performance where she performs as a surprise guest definitely extended her fame and she got new fans across the entire country. This duet has become legendary and iconic in France, there is still at least one TV show every month coming back on this duet and exposing the behind-the-scenes moments.

What else can be said about the Queen? I think the most important thing is the inexplicable fact that we (in America) knew NOTHING about Lara Fabian. Many of US _'(in America)'_ knew PLENTY about Lara Fabian "back in the day".(late 90's/early 2000's) However, _most_ Americans lack the sophistication, if you will , or attention span required to appreciate *at first blush* someone of Lara's caliber; to fully grasp the depth and range of her ability and what she has to offer as a performer. There is a whole process involved in the approach one must take in order to combat the typical American's resistance to anything that might be considered even slightly unusual especially with regard to the arts ; successfully breaking down these defenses that have been constructed over generations is no small feat. Believe me, I know first hand...let's just say - my efforts in the early years to introduce folks to her "work" were more often than not met with less than enthusiastic embraces. Reactions ranged from polite tolerance to subtle forms as well as overt expressions of hostility when I attempted to expose her music, songs, and performances to the uninitiated . As I alluded to earlier , the "average Joe" is ill-prepared to handle a force the likes of LF. They must be "softened up" , spoon-fed, in a sense before they will open themselves up more readily to things that are different , strange and foreign i.e., be accepting of a singer performing in a theatrical manner and/or in a language not understood or spoken by the majority of the members of a given audience.
Thank you Grant for giving us a second version of this Duo. It was just Grandiose, a perfect alchemy that we don't find in the duos with Josh Groban and Mickael Bolton from a physical point of view (I hope you will do these 2 duos, For Always and The Prayer). What an emotion to see an artist like you have so much admiration for our favorite singer, Queen Lara! Bravo also for your Band, it vibrates and it's full of enthusiasm, we see the happiness and joy that you put in your shows...I hope you will continue with Lara for our greatest happiness.
I so enjoy watching your channel. Seeing how respectful to the artists in your speaking and dress is so engaging. Thank you for your many contributions to the talent of our Lara.
Thanks for the re-reaction to this magnificent and historic duet. Here is a video (in french 😮ua-cam.com/video/SbAAO8cOhv0/v-deo.htmlsi=EVTpyiCJN-NaplGM) about the story behind the duet. Super idea to bring in choir and symphonic orchestra to set the scene. This really adds to their chemistry. Also Lara's piercing eye contact in this duet is making a difference (on top of all the rest of course). Thanks again and looking forward to more.

@@ildefonsobenitez6624 thanks mate, appreciate It!👍 I saw that reaction, during his First period of reacting to her (he seemed sooooo young!🤭) but I was intrigued by seein his reaction in this second and more mature phase of Lara love..🤭
No need to apologise, Grant. Of course you can “rank” Lara’s performances, but there’s no doubt all of them are great. She’s simply amazing and in that night those two were more inspired than the usual for sure, maybe bc they had already performed the song together a couple of times before and you know what they say: practise makes it perfect, especially in terms of duets.
Lara's passion and interaction with Johnny is very noticeable and perfection. Perhaps it was the Gods who rained out the first one just so they could have a chance to perform this live several times before the Gods once again gave them just enough of a rainstorm (and for Johnny to get the hint and refuse to postpone it again) to create this Masterpiece. Or perhaps it was the producers who let Lara just "do her thing" and interpret it the "Lara Fabian" way.
On this third and final performance, Lara's microphone sound was at its maximum (it resonated much more unlike the first two performances) and Johnny's was lower. We can clearly hear the difference when comparing it with the first two performances. It was Johnny who asked for it to be done like that. Lara was his guest at the Stade de France and he wanted her to demonstrate her vocal power and shine. Lara herself confirmed it. Johnny in all his generosity... Know that Johnny was also a vocal powerhouse but on this last performance he didn't want it because it was done on purpose, Johnny was very intelligent in doing that to make the song more dramatic and show their acting on this magnificent song that belongs to him. The desired goal was the dramatic side of the singing all in power but less than Lara (Johnny) with both next to him a more striking vocal power (Lara) and the passionate acting between the two. Everything was imagined by Johnny himself to end this last performance in style. A masterpiece, perhaps the most beautiful duo in the world.🎉💥💣
Any source about you said? Because it seems that you don't know about Lara's powerful resonance. She even sings without mic in huge spaces. She doesn't need to have a mic sounded maximum resonating. Even without mic we would hear her resonant voice higher than Johnny's.
@@EmanuelRecemConvertido It was Lara herself who confirmed it during an interview and Johnny fans know this story very well so... In addition, another comment under this same video says the same thing as me about the microphones... And yes I know Lara very well too because I am also a fan of this very great singer that I adore. But do not underestimate the very great Johnny, it is also a very great voice, very powerful and precise but different from Lara's. Two different voices but each with their quality... I invite you to listen to some of Johnny's songs, you will not be disappointed: Vivre pour le meilleur, Quelques cris, Diego "Bercy 92", Sang pour sang, Ce que je sais, L'envie, M'arrêter là, Allumer le feu, Requiem pour un fou "Parc des princes 93" and many others...
@@EmanuelRecemConvertido I don't have the source, the links you ask for regarding the microphones. It's so old.. Ask the other person who indicated in the comments the same thing as me under this same video, maybe he can explain it to you better. And if you focus on this last version it's different from the first two interpretations together, Lara's voice is much more powerful and resonates more. And recently a few months ago she was invited on a French channel on TF1 "La matinale" she was asked about this magnificent duet and she said that Johnny would have asked her during rehearsals that she sing with all her power because she was his guest and he wanted her to shine. She also said that Johnny had been very kind to her and that he was very generous but everyone says that about him. Lara loved Johnny very much and she was very grateful that he gave her this invitation, this gift to the Stade de France to sing this magnificent song that belongs to Johnny. She also often speaks of him, saying that he was a very great performer with an immense voice.
@@C.R1987 You're saying nonsenses. Lol This last version sounds louder and more resonant because it was filmed in other way, with a different kind of camera and angles, the other video was filmed at the first day, it was more a test, then at this second and last version they improved the recording quality. Lara saying that Johnny wanted her to shine means nothing about they turn her much louder to make her become more resonant. If you don't have a video or link confirming what you said, so it's just gossip. Are you're saying that Lara loved and respected Johnny to prove that they turned her mic higher? Indeed she loved and cared about him a lot, but that means nothing about her mic at all. Just STOP.
The form of this duet consists of a body-to-body which is best suited to celebrating the love-death combination. Through discordance and laceration, harmony is produced (that harmony which in my opinion coincides with that to which Grant Ray, and many commentators, refer when they speak of "chemistry" between the two singers). I fear that nowadays a song like "Requiem pour un fou", and even more so a performance like this, between a man and a woman, would be frowned upon in the world of pop music, currently dominated by conformism and political correctness (perhaps song and performance would even be considered a claim of the so-called feminicide).
@@C.P89 Comment partly obvious and irrelevant ("It's just a song, a fiction") and partly vague and vacuous ("We must stop confusing everything"). Overall, a futile comment.
@@emilioricciardi5078 Reality is one thing, a song and therefore fiction is another.. Come back to reality man, don't mix everything up.. Your comment is futile, it should not be taken into account because it is stupid.. lol

My pleasure😎
Lara❤
I so enjoy watching your channel. Seeing how respectful to the artists in your speaking and dress is so engaging.
Thank you for your many contributions to the talent of our Lara.
You are so welcome!
🇨🇦 Johnny was deaf in his left ear for 24 hours after that ! 🇨🇦
I’ve always thought the same thing.
Thanks for your reaction. About chemestry, Johnny said : "Lara, she's me as a woman".
Please don't smoke cigarettes! 🚬 RIP Johnny! ❤
great reaction thank you ❤❤❤❤

I saw that reaction, during his First period of reacting to her (he seemed sooooo young!🤭) but I was intrigued by seein his reaction in this second and more mature phase of Lara love..🤭

🇨🇦 This might be an acception, but Lara usually produces and arranges most of her performances ! 🇨🇦
_'.. exception..'_
So happy you enjoyed it
Talking about duet, Grant, react to “tu es mon autre “, please. You can also react to ta peine and l’oublie. They are nice ones

Awesome! Thank you!
@@EmanuelRecemConvertido
It was Lara herself who confirmed it during an interview and Johnny fans know this story very well so... I invite you to listen to some of Johnny's songs, you will not be disappointed: Vivre pour le meilleur, Quelques cris,
Diego "Bercy 92", Sang pour sang, Ce que je sais, L'envie, M'arrêter là, Allumer le feu, Requiem pour un fou "Parc des princes 93"
and many others...
@@C.R1987 I want the source (link or video) of Lara saying what you mentioned here. ;)
@@EmanuelRecemConvertido
I don't have the source, the links you ask for regarding the microphones.
Lol
This last version sounds louder and more resonant because it was filmed in other way, with a different kind of camera and angles, the other video was filmed at the first day, it was more a test, then at this second and last version they improved the recording quality. Just STOP.
Hey, like Lara and Johnny, you just showed us how a reaction is. supposed to be done…😉
It's just a song, a fiction !!
We need to stop mixing everything up !!
@@C.P89 Comment partly obvious and irrelevant ("It's just a song, a fiction") and partly vague and vacuous ("We must stop confusing everything"). Overall, a futile comment.
@@emilioricciardi5078
Reality is one thing, a song and therefore fiction is another.. Come back to reality man, don't mix everything up.. Your comment is futile, it should not be taken into account because it is stupid.. lol

Could you do one on a magnificent duo, "Celine Dion and Ginette Reno- un peu plus haut, un peu plus loin". It's fantastic !! And Céline Dion cry !!!
The beginning of the song is with Ferlant then at 2 min, the duet is with Ginette Reno. To listen very loudly!!
