I can tell you this much after having walked the path your walking now. I got out of the Navy 2001. I wanted to turn pro. Got a job at driving range, doing lessons and the whole bit. I've grinded for hours and hours. Put in time like nobodies business. I hit balls under the headlights of my truck because they turned the range lights off. I could score and I could hit it like most dreamed. The last time I played in a pro event was for a Nationwide Tour event, now the Korn Ferry Tour. This was 2004 i think. That year I averaged 313 off the tee. I would've been top 10 on tour. Within 4 years I was done. I hated it. I walked away from it for like 15 years. I started playing again in 2020. Just dabbling until I was bit again. I still haven't played a pro event. I may never again, but im wiser, older, fatter, mentally stronger, happier, and probably an all around better player with less speed. Do i regret it? Yes and no. Yes, because I skipped my prime years. No, because I wouldn't be the person i am today without walking away. Hardwork and desire will take you far, but in some cases it just doesn't happen. For me, maybe the Champions Tour is a possibility in the future. Right now, im content and getting closer. Every minute you're not getting better is every minute your competitors are gaining on you. I used to get up 4, hit the gym, at the range at sun up, short game practice until i went to work, after work back to the range or play until dark. Rinse and repeat, everyday
