MAGNIFICENT five-part harmony that is made even more mesmerizing by the fact that none of them were together when they recorded it! I can't for the life of me figure out how they can do that...
You know, I've got to say... I've watched thousands of PTX reaction videos, but I've never seen anyone else watch and listen with such purity of heart.. It warms my heart to see someone so moved by their powerful music and it's a pleasure to watch your reactions.. (Especially your reaction to "The Promise") I wish I could just give you a hug.. 🥰
This is probably my favorite base line from Matt along with Havana. He is amazing!

Mitch destroyed me in the part that got you too. Sometimes they place him somewhere where his voice just pierces your heart. I also really enjoy Matt's bass line in this. It's like a steady foundation that they all built on. This is a beautiful arrangement.
I really hope this will be their off mic song.
Btw it's The Cranberries. Mitch brought this one to the group. So it's fitting he sang the most beautiful part on the song..
My guess is the next off mic song will be Mad World but this one might be a better choice.

Rob you’re right... PTX’s ability to draw us in and emotionally invest ourselves in their offering, is extraordinary! Really Pentatonix has made it difficult to watch/listen to anything else on UA-cam-even to fellow jazz musicians like pianists Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett, both of whom have been influential in my own playing.
It was when I heard “Angels We Have Heard On High” that I became a Pentaholic, and ever since I’ve struggled to view anybody else on UA-cam!
Happy Belated New Year, Rob! Here’s hoping that 2021 is significantly better than 2020!

Thank you! You hit it right on the head Rob! We love them for more than their incredible talent and their adorable personalities - they really DO have the ability to just take your heart and speak to it through their songs. I think Dreams is the prettiest song on the At Home EP. Personally, I would love to hear isolated tracks of each of their voices. The harmony is so unusual to me, not just straight 5 parts, but some interesting chords in there. I would love to hear the seperate parts! They do this kind of thing all the time & I love it! It is just next level music skill!!! See you on the next one! XO

Amazing that they could arrange, record, and film this song, and the others on the EP, while in lockdown in five different places. I like your look at the part where Matt is singing in one ear and Scott is singing on the other. If you want to hear something really trippy, listen to the video where this song is in one ear and the original is in the other.
I think when we hear them, we get transformed to another world. PTX WORLD. So love them so much.❤❤
This was a hard song to wrap my head around. I used to hear it like twenty times a day when I worked at Bread Co years ago. And I hated the song. I know, I know!! But in a crowded place like that, I never heard the lyrics. I only knew it by that "awful girl that sounds like she's being strangled" in the song. Forgive me, but it's true. Then when I watched this video, I had no idea what this song was. My first thought was an original song. Then Mitch opened up with that angel's voice, and I swear I fell off my chair! I had to stop the video. Give my head a good shake to clear my mind and start again. Nope. I wasn't imagining it. There is no mistaking that sound. But.... Since when is this such a beautiful song? I was so shamefully clueless. It's now one of my favorites of theirs. Well, one of my top ten anyway, since pretty much every song of theirs is my favorite!! If you watch it again, you can see this beautiful little secret smile Mitch gives when he sings that sliding "Laaa" and I love him for it. You know he's having fun, but more than that, I feel like he knows how perfect his voice is right there and how amazing it sounds. And that's not me saying he's conceited. That's me loving him notice and be proud of what he can do that gives all of us such joy and pleasure. I adore how much they give to every song they do, they hold nothing back.
This is another gem from the summer in quarantine. Mitch is divine taking the Dolores part from the Cranberries. She passed last year, but she's have loved this tribute ! Thank you.
